"GREAT WAVE"
Friday, March 10th, 2023
Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan
Recorded and edited for reproduction on Fuji Television
Our announce team of Yuji Shindo and Kotetsu Yamamoto welcome us to "Great Wave"!
They blow right past the fact that the promotion was Shooting Star Pro-Wrestling and is now Pro-Wrestling STORM. We've got a lot of big matches ahead, so we go to Eiji Tosaka in the ring, and get to it!
MATCH ONE
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Junior Stars: Minoru Tanaka & Koji Kanemoto vs. Shinjiro Otani & Tatsuhito Takaiwa
Referee: Shiro Abe
Otani and Takaiwa use their brutish, brawling ways to overcome the speed and athleticism of their opponents, with Otani getting the pinfall with a Spiral Powerbomb on Kanemoto.
Winners by Pinfall: Shinjiro Otani & Tatsuhito Takaiwa
(00:08:55)
We go backstage, where Yumi Fukawa is standing in with NWA Double Crown champion Shinya Hashimoto. He says that he, Naoya Ogawa, and Masato Tanaka are going to hand NO FEAR a beating tonight, and that Minoru Suzuki should be very afraid of what will happen when he gets his hands on him! We head back to the ring for our next contest.
MATCH TWO
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Ayumi Kurihara & Yoshiko Tamura vs. Mariko Yoshida & Hiroyo Matsumoto
Referee: Mac Takeda
Yoshida and Matsumoto were looking to get revenge on Kurihara and Tamura for abandoning Matsumoto in a six person tag match at "Big Bang". Yoshida would manage to get the win over Matsumoto with a roll-up Prawn Hold. Yoshida was not satisfied with this result at all, and Yoshida fled before they could have a show down in the center of the ring.
Winners by Pinfall: Ayumi Kurihara & Yoshiko Tamura
(00:07:23)
We go backstage, where Jushin Liger reveals that the other two members of his team tonight in the 10 man tag team match against Kai En Tai will be Hayabusa & Jinsei Shinzaki, and he says they are ready to teach Kai En Tai a lesson they will never forget!
MATCH THREE
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Akira Taue vs. Kensuke Sasaki
Referee: Ted Tanabe
Two big hitters who want to get some notice in the title hunt. Taue is very powerful, with a sumo background, and likes to throw his opponents around by the neck and kick them in the face. Sasaki is a powerhouse with massive chops and a very explosive offense. Sasaki would manage to break out of a Chokeslam attempt from Taue and deliver a spinning backchop, followed by a Single Leg Powerbomb to fold him up for the three count.
Winner by Pinfall: Kensuke Sasaki
(00:13:11)
We go backstage, where Yumi Fukawa is standing in with the two women who will take on Akira Hokuto and Takako Inoue tonight, Kyoko Inoue and Bull Nakano! Kyoko says that she is disgusted with what her former long time partner is doing now, teaming up with LCO, and she hopes to knock some sense into her! Bull says that Akira Hokuto has always been vermin, and she looks to squash her tonight and eradicate LCO from existence! Just then, a voice can be heard saying, "We can't let you ladies have all of the fun!" It's Manami Toyota, and she walks on with Toshiyo Yamada! She says that they are going to be taking down the rest of LCO tonight, along with that bitch Aja Kong who dared to attack Jaguar Yokota at "Big Bang" like a coward! Toshiyo says they called up an old friend from the dojo to come give them a hand in taking out the trash tonight, and everyone will just have to wait and see who it is! We head back to ringside, where Yuji and Kotetsu put over how exciting the rest of this show is going to be, then we are back to the ring for the next match.
MATCH FOUR
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Devil Masami vs. Meiko Satomura
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
The vicious Devil Masami was set to take on the meteoric Meiko Satomura, the protege of her former rival, Chigusa Nagayo. Satomura would try to push the pace in this match, but Devil kept taking things back to the mat, where she could torture Satomura hold after wrenching hold. Satomura would mount a comeback and looked to deliver her Scorpion Kick when Ayako Hamada made her way out to the ring apron and distracted her. This would leave Satomura open to a roll-up from Masami, who would get the three count, much to the vexation of the audience.
Winner by Pinfall: Devil Masami
(00:10:43)
Meiko was not pleased at all, to say the least, as Ayako smiled on her way to the back.
MATCH FIVE
TRIOS TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Aja Kong, Mima Shimoda, and Etsuko Mita vs. Manami Toyota, Toshiyo Yamada, and Megumi Kudo
Referee: Mac Takeda
Mac Takeda really let loose on the rules here, as we had a wild one on our hands. Megumi Kudo, the "Queen of Extreme", came in to team with Toyota and Kudo to take on their violent foes, and she got a great reception here at Korakuen Hall. Aja Kong looked like she might Piledrive Kudo off the entry way when Jaguar Yokota made her way out to distract her. Kong had attacked Yokota at "Big Bang", and now Yokota was in her face. This lead to Kudo grabbing Kong and deliver a Belly to Back Suplex to her off the stage through a table! Back in the ring, Toyota delivers the Japanese Ocean Cyclone Suplex to Mima Shimoda to get the three count victory for her team!
Winners by Pinfall: Manami Toyota, Toshiyo Yamada, and Megumi Kudo
(00:13:15)
We got the announce table, where the commentators inform us that the next show, entitled "SUPERCHARGED!" will take place at Nippon Budokan on April 1st, and UWA World Heavyweight champion "Lionheart" Chris Jericho will be there defending his championship against an opponent to be named! Stay tuned on all PWSTORM social media to get more information on this big upcoming event!
MATCH SIX
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Jun Akiyama vs. Toshiaki Kawada
Referee: Shiro Abe
These two always put on a spirited showing for the fans, and tonight was no different. Akiyama is a great, energetic babyface, while Kawada is a rough curmudgeon who loves to inflict pain and damage on his opponents, primarily with his stiff-as-hell kicks. Akiyama would pull out everything he could to try to get a win here, delivering many big blows, even delivering his patented Exploder Suplex on the floor, but Kawada would not stay down. Kawada would likewise have a hard time keeping Akiyama down, as he would hit two of his Folding Powerbombs and would apply the Stretch Plum, but Akiyama showed his massive heart to keep fighting through all of it. After multiple kicks to the head and a Brainbuster, Akiyama would only have the power in him to kick out one last time. Kawada would latch onto him with a Standing Stretch Plum, wrenching with all of his might as he bared his toothless countenance, and Akiyama would limply have to tap out.
Winner by Submission: Toshiaki Kawada
(00:14:02)
MATCH SEVEN
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 20 Minute Time Limit
LCO: Akira Hokuto & Takako Inoue vs. Bull Nakano & Kyoko Inoue
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
Bull and Kyoko are here to inflict some punishment on the LCO girls. Kyoko is disappointed that her former partner Takako has joined the evil LCO, while Bull and Akira have a long history and Bull just wants to take her down for good. This was a fantastic match that had a lot of near falls, as all four women are among the best in the promotion. Takako nearly had her former partner beat in the center of the ring with a Top Rope Swinging Chokeslam, but Bull saved it with a big Back Senton that probably hurt Kyoko just as much as Takako. Takako would manage to take Bull down on the outside with a Crossbody from the top, leaving Kyoko open to a Northern Lights Bomb from Hokuto onto a chair, and that sealed the victory.
Winners by Pinfall: Akira Hokuto & Takako Inoue
(00:18:10)
Bull got on the microphone after the match and swore she was not done with Akira!
MATCH EIGHT
TEAN MAN TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit
Great Sasuke, Jushin Liger, Tiger Mask IV, Hayabusa, and Jinsei Shinzaki vs. Kai En Tai: Kaz Hayashi, Shoichi Funaki, Taka Michinoku, Mens Teioh, and Dick Togo
Referee: Shiro Abe
This match was fun and wild, and the fans really got a treat from all 10 of these men. This was a very fast paced, lucha libre inspired match, as you might imagine, where you really didn't see any tags, but a lot of in and out from all men. It was frenetic chaos, with Kai En Tai trying to use every trick they could to get ahead, but in the end Jushin Liger would catch Mens Teioh on the buckles and pull him off with a Running Liber Bomb for the three count.
Winners by Pinfall: Great Sasuke, Jushin Liger, Tiger Mask IV, Hayabusa, and Jinsei Shinzaki
(00:23:21)
MATCH EIGHT
TRIOS TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit
NO FEAR: Minoru Suzuki, Takao Omori, and Yoshihiro Takayama vs. Shinya Hashimoto, Naoya Ogawa, and Masato Tanaka
Referee: Ted Tanabe
Suzuki would try to play mind games with the NWA Double Crown champion Hashimoto throughout, as he refused to engage him directly, but would grab him by the boot or shove him if he got close to him, causing the "King of Destruction" to get volatile. Takayama and Hashimoto would have some of the most brutal exchanges, as Takayama would use his massive knee lifts and strikes to hurt the champion. Ogawa and Tanaka would hold their own with their own explosive offense, but it was the cerebral attack of Suzuki that ended up being the most effective. Suzuki and Omori would send Hashimoto into the crowd with a double clothesline over the railing in a strategic move. Takayama would deliver the Everest German Suplex to Ogawa, but Tanaka would break it up at two. Tanaka would hit a series of elbows on Takayama backing him up into the ropes, allowing Suzuki to blind tag in and then catch Tanaka with a Judo throw into a Cross Armbar to get the submission victory!
Winners by Submission: Minoru Suzuki, Takao Omori, and Yoshihiro Takayama
(00:22:50)
Hashimoto points and yells at Suzuki from ringside as stands on the middle turnbuckle pantomiming a title belt around his waist, and the show comes to an end.
