AEW Dynamite
Feb. 15, 2023
Coach and Pat McAfee welcome fans to the show, as it’s the go-home show for Revolution, which is live this Sunday at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Baton Rouge, La. That should be a huge show, and the final pieces will fall in place tonight. We’re starting the night with FTW Champion, Hook, who comes out to a large ovation.
Hook says he’s here for business tonight, but before he addresses Malakai Black, he wants the producers to hit the music. “Survive if I let you” plays, and out walks Taz looking slimmed down and buff in his old school singlet. Coach remarks that it looks like the Taz of old school ECW went through a time machine to arrive here in AEW.
Taz and Hook embrace, then Taz tells Raven that he accepts Raven’s challenge. It won’t be the end of Taz’s in-ring resurgence, but it might spell the end of the Raven. Hook takes the mic back and says he also still has things to prove. He gets to decide when and where to defend the FTW belt, and he wants to put a final end to this feud with Malakai Black at Revolution. It’s time for Hook and Taz to move on from Black and Raven, and that happens this weekend.

Match 1 - Tag Title Contendership match
Steiner Bros. (10-2) vs. New Day (7-4)
The match gets thrown out shortly after it begins when Natural Selection attacks both groups with chairs. The beatdown ends as soon as the match is thrown out. Cesar Duran grabs the mic and says it looks like Shelton and Cedric get the weekend off, since there was no winner tonight.
—
Backstage, Hook and Taz are talking when Raven walks up to them. He says they don’t need to wait until this weekend. In fact, if it’s up to him, Taz won’t even make it to the weekend. That’s why — even though Raven and Black have their own beef — they’ve booked a tag match for later tonight pitting Hook & Taz against Raven & Black.
—
Match 2 - Ronda Rousey (3-2) vs. Riho (5-9)
Rousey puts Riho down with an armbar submission at 8:43. She grabs the mic after the match and says she’s the queen of the octagon. She’ll destroy VanZant on the mat and put her out of the sport for good.
—
Cody Rhodes is talking with Dustin backstage about tonight’s match with Goldberg. Cody says he’ll be out there to support him, but Dustin asks him to stay backstage. He’s going to take Goldberg down a peg tonight, then Cody is going to embarrass him on Sunday. Dustin walks off, while Cody looks after him with a worried expression.

Match 3 - Face of the Revolution Qualifier
Sammy Guevara (12-5) w/ Tay Melo vs. Jungle Boy (5-1) w/ Luchasaurus
Guevara nearly has Jungle Boy beaten as he prepares to hit the 630 Splash, until MVP’s music hits. Guevara stumbles, then misses the splash as MVP walks down to ringside. Melo gets in his face and yells at him to leave, while MVP says he can go anywhere he damn well pleases. In the ring, Jungle Boy rolls up a distracted Guevara for the win at 12:49 to qualify for the ladder match. MVP walks away with a smirk on his face as Guevara looks on in disbelief.
—
Tony Khan comes to the ring for a special announcement. He calls Natural Selection, the Steiner Bros. and New Day out to the stage. He informs Natural Selection that their ploy earlier tonight has backfired — they’ll still be defending their belts on Sunday. But now it’ll be in a triple threat tag team match! The Steiners and New Day nod their approval, while Cesar Duran is apoplectic and screams about this being unfair.
—
Before the next match, Malakai Black talks about the fall of the House of Black being ultimately for the best. Someone is coming who will make sense of all of this. In the meantime, Black won’t be tagging with Raven tonight. He directs Billy Kidman to go and soften Hook up for him.
Match 4 - Hook & Taz vs. Raven & Billy Kidman
Taz gets the pin on Kidman after a vicious Tazplex in 8:48. As Hook raises Taz’s hand in victory, Malakai Black appears in the ring from seemingly nowhere. He hits a turning Hook with the Black Mass, while Raven hits Taz in the back with a chair. Raven and Black continue beating down Hook and Taz until security runs down to pull them away. As Black and Raven walk up the ramp, Black taps Raven on the shoulder. Raven turns and receives a Black Mass of his own. Black sneers down at him, then walks up the ramp on his own.

Match 5 - Face of the Revolution Qualifier:
Shawn Spears (10-5) w/ The Apex vs. L.A. Park Jr. (1-2)
Spears wins in 10:38 with the C4.
Following the match, the Apex gets in the ring to congratulate spears. They toss Park from the ring and Jarrett grabs the mic. He says this is the first step toward The Apex returning to the top. Spears can work his way toward the All-Atlantic Championship, while Beer Money solidifies their claim on being tag team contenders by beating the Chosen Bros. And Jarrett will turn his attention toward UWA Champion Chris Jericho.
Jon Moxley interrupts and comes out to the stage. What makes Jarrett think he deserves a shot at any champion? Mox is feeling a little hazy on details after getting hit in the head by a guitar last week, but Jarrett can’t even beat him in a fair fight. JBL grabs the mic and tells Mox to go back into the hole he emerged from. Mox tells JBL he’s got some brown stuff on his nose. JBL goes to wipe it off, then gets mad. Jarrett says he’ll agree to another match with Mox, this Sunday. But Mox first has to beat JBL on Rampage this week.

Main Event - Bill Goldberg (1-0) vs. Dustin Rhodes (0-0)
Goldberg hits a spear right after the bell rings. Then he proceeds to hit Rhodes with 3 Jackhammers before finally pinning him at 1:30. He keeps up the onslaught after the match and drags Rhodes to the outside of the ring. He powerbombs him through the announce table, as Cody Rhodes runs out from the back. He runs to his brother’s side, and Goldberg lets him as he grabs a mic.
Goldberg - “This is a preview of what’s coming for you, Cody. I won’t stop until that belt is off of you and the Rhodes family is disgraced. For all of his talk last week, Dustin couldn’t touch me.”
Cody stands and grabs a mic of his own - “Unfortunately for you, I am not my brother. I love him, but he shouldn’t have been out here with you. Until now, my journey has been all about proving that I could be the best. I’ve achieved my goals. You, Bill, have turned things personal. Nobody has seen me get truly angry. If I were you, I’d be scared.”
Goldberg gets nose-to-nose with Cody until officials separate them, and Cody goes back to Dustin’s side as the show ends.
