Starrcade Night Two Pre-Show for 2.5.23
The camera comes up on a limo parked outside the stadium. Steve Blackman, new security chief, steps in the way and tells the cameraman he has direct orders from Shane McMahon not to let anybody near the car and see who is inside. It was mentioned on night one of Starrcade a potential new signing would be coming to the show tonight.
“The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin is in the ring. Footage is shown of Bob Holly from the previous night resurrecting the old Continental Championship Wrestling Wild Card Title. Garvin was the last holder when the belt was retired. Holly wants to talk about opportunities being taken from him. Nobody knows about that better than Garvin, who was also the WCW Television Champion when that belt was merged into the Gulf Coast Title. Bob Holly comes out and tells Garvin to stop whining. Holly claimed what was once Garvin’s, but is now his, and Garvin’s not getting it back. Garvin tells Holly if he’s a fighting champion, he’ll put that belt on the line against him right now.
An impromptu hardcore match breaks out for the new WCW Wild Card Title with Bob Holly winning in 10:10 after giving Garvin the Alabama Slam through a table. He then wears out Garvin with a steel chair until security comes out, led by Steve Blackman, to back him off.
SoCal Val has Kurt Angle in the back. “Chris Jericho, tonight Y2J won’t be compliant because you’re facing the Olympic hero that won a gold medal on a broken freakin’ neck. So, winning the UWA Universal Men’s Title at 100% should be easy for me. The three I’s of intelligence, integrity and intensity are three things you can’t deal with. Everyone said your title run was going to be short. You’ve been living on borrowed time and your clock runs out tonight. Oh, it’s true, it’s damn true.”

The camera shows Shane McMahon getting in the limo to talk to whoever is inside. The camera tries to get close and we hear Shane something about Garvin not being able to go for the money in the bank ladder match tonight and that slot could be part of a WCW contract. Blackman then reappears and backs the camera off.
“Number One” Paul Jones comes out to the entrance stage and says how now that his Powers of Fear have conquered the tag team division of WCW, he wants to go after the women’s division. He debuts Tamina Snuka. Tamina defeated Cherry Bomb by pinfall at 4:11 via Superfly Splash.
SoCal Val has Chris Jericho in the back. “Kurt Angle, this isn’t the first time we’ve met in the ring and it won’t be the last. But if you think you’re taking the UWA Universal Men’s Title off me here tonight. You are sorely mistaken. Everyone wrote the Ayatollah of Rock ‘n Rolla off before. But I’m back in shape and have reached heights I never have before. You might be an Olympic hero, but I’m a wizard. This belt stays with me tonight and as you might say Kurt, it’s true, it’s damn true.”

Power Station (Odyssey Jones and Will Hobbs) with Dr. of Style, Slick defeated Proud and Powerful (Santana and Ortiz) by pinfall of Jones on Ortiz via Black Out at 12:43.
Shane McMahon gets out of the limo and waves the camera over. While he’s sad to see Garvin being injured earlier tonight, but since the Money in the Bank Ladder Match is opening the show, a replacement wrestler needed found and he’s happy to announce the spot is going to WCW’s most recent signee. Out of the limo emerges…“Macho Man” Randy Savage.
“Oh yeah, everything old is new again. The Macho Man is back where he always should have always stayed, uh-huh yeah. CCW, WCW, it’s just letters, man. Daddy’s home and he’s going to climb that ladder tonight and bring down that briefcase. Then “Mr. Wonderful” Paul Orndorff your ass and your title will be mine. Yeah, dig it.”
