The Patriot is on the interview stage with SoCal Val. While he doesn’t want to do anything to stop his mask vs. mask match against Blue Demon Jr. at Starrcade, he felt it was his sworn duty as an American to look into how Demon was here. He’s here on a work visa that expires Jan. 31. Starrcade is Feb. 5. You do the math? Well, Val is a woman so he’ll do the math for her, that’s five days after Demon should be back in Mexico eating taquitos and drinking tequila.
Blue Demon comes out with Thunder Rosa as his translator. She says Shane McMahon is acting as a sponsor to get Demon an extension of his work visa. However, if Patriot is scared about missing the mask vs. mask match at Starrcade, why don’t they do it tonight. Patriot says that’s fine with him. He’ll take Demon’s mask from him tonight and if he’s still around by Starrcade he’ll do it again there. Rosa just face palms and says that’s not how this works. If you lose your mask in a mask match it’s gone forever. Patriot says that mask, but just go get another one. Rosa just sighs.

Ember Moon defeated Lady Frost by pinfall via Eclipse at 7:45.
Frost goes for the Snowball Fight (cannonball) in the corner, but Moon pulls referee Aubrey Edwards in the way and she’s knocked out. Mickie James runs into the ring and hits Frost with the Mick-Kick. Moon hits the Eclipse and Edwards crawls over to make the count. Tessa Blanchard comes to explain what happened, but Edwards is still woozy and Moon attacks Blanchard with a rolling elbow, followed by a Michinoku Driver II.

On the interview stage with SoCal Val is Paul Orndorff and Tom Magee with Col. Robert Fuller and Kevin Kross with Maria Kannellis-Bennett. Maria and Fuller mock the old Mega Powers handshake as they pledge to unite their awesome physical specimens to take out the broken down jokes of Magnum TA, Kevin Owens and Hulk Hogan in the main event. Magnum has no hope of beating Paul Orndorff for the WCW World Heavyweight Title at Starrcade and Hogan has no chance of not being the latest immortal killed by Kevin Kross at Starrcade. That is if they can make it out of Nitro this evening. As we fade, we can hear Magee asking Maria about this dental plan he’s heard so much about.

Maria and Kross return to their dressing room and find the Miracle Workers of Eli Drake and Mike Bennett hogtied and beaten to a pulp to what we presume to be the branding irons we see lying on the floor. A note laid on them says ‘Maria, you’re lucky we didn’t castrate your calves. We’ll do that at Starrcade. Love, the Funk Brothers.” Maria is enraged and Kross says he’ll take care of it.

The New Foundation (Owen Hart and Jim Neidhart) defeated the Smith Family Legacy (Harry Smith and Tyson Kidd) with Davey Boy Smith by pinfall of Hart on Kidd via Hart Attack Clothesline at 9:54.
Davey Boy tries to interfere and Brian Pillman Sr. runs out and stops him. They brawl on the outside, with Davey Boy yelling for Harry to help him out, this leaves Kidd alone to eat the finish. Davey Boy yells at Harry and Tyson post match on the floor. Pillman gets in the ring and raises the winners hands in victory. Monsoon mentions how Pillman was once a Hart Foundation member and is on good terms with Neidhart and Hart. New Foundation advance to face Power Station for a shot at the UWA Tag Team Titles at Starrcade.

We flash to the back where Kross is taking on Terry and Dory Funk Jr. on two to one. Magnum TA and Kevin Owens come in for the save and Kross backs off, saying he’ll see them out in the ring in the main event tonight. Owens wonders where Hogan is and he opens a nearby door to find Hogan covering himself with baby oil and posing in the mirror. He’s got to be ready for the main event, brother.

Blue Demon Jr. defeated “The Patriot” by pinfall via Ace Crusher at 2:12.
Monsoon on commentary says Patriot looks way too small. Callis says he was just cutting weight using Fight Milk in the back. After the match, Demon unmasks his opponent to reveal Crash Holly. Patriot comes out on the entrance stage and laughs at Demon for being so easily tricked. Monsoon doesn’t think he was tricked at all. Holly stepped in for him tonight for money, which is a prime example of the American Way. Capitalism forever, baby. Patriot does the Richard Nixon “V” with both hands and walks off.

Kurt Angle is on the interview stage with SoCal Val. Whatever happened last week doesn’t matter. Jericho was in the building for one night to prove he still knew his way home to WCW. But, he’s gone again this week and shows that he has no knowledge and no respect for the three I’s of integrity, intelligence and intensity. And those are the three things Angle will utilize to beat Y2J and become the new UWA Men’s Champion.

“The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin defeated the Honky Tonk Man by pinfall via Stone Cutter (inverted stunner) at 9:13.
Garvin blocks the Shake, Rattle and Roll and turns it into a backdrop. HTM rolls to the floor while referee Joey Marella checks on Garvin. Disco Inferno runs out and smashes a drum over Honky’s head. HTM rolls back into the ring, acting all woozy and punch drunk, making him easy pickings for Garvin.
-----
“National Treasure” Nick Aldis is on the interview stage with SoCal Val. Wait, what did Val call him…“The National Treasure.” He’s still the Universal Treasure and she better not forget it. Well, that’s not what his graphic says. He looks up at the big screen over the entrance stage and sees his nickname changed back to his old one. This is Shane McMahon’s doing as he’s determined to wipe out every vestige of Aldis’ glorious and momentous UWA Men’s Title reign. The microphone then cuts out and over the public address system we hear Aldis called to the ring for a match. He freaks out as we fade to break.
COMMERCIAL
Back from commercial, Nick Aldis defeated Tony Garea by submission via Sharpshooter at 5:55.
Aldis then gets a microphone and demands that Shane McMahon come out and face him. He doesn’t want to wait until Starrcade for their match. Aldis’ microphone is cut again and the public address system makes another announcement, that the match between McMahon and Aldis at Starrcade will be a Phoenix Street Fight. Aldis freaks out and goes to the back.

Dr. of Style, Slick is on the interview stage with Power Station. Since day one, he’s proclaimed Hobbs and Jones as the greatest tag team the world has ever known. They were denied a shot at the UWA Tag Team Titles at KaufMania last year by Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith. This year Hart is back with a new partner, but the results will be way different. Next week, the New Foundation can turn off the lights, because the party is over. Hart and Neidhart come out. Hart said this year he’s not only got a different partner, but a better partner and Slick is right, the results will be different. Because this year, the UWA Tag Team Titles are coming home to WCW. What won’t be changing is him standing tall in the ring and Hobbs and Jones staring at the lights next week. They all go nose to nose as we fade to break.

In a rematch from last week, “The Last of a Dying Breed” Eddie Kingston defeated “Marvelous” Marc Mero by pinfall via Backfist to the Future at 10:41.
Kingston undoes the turnbuckle pad and while referee Aubrey Edwards is fixing it, Kingston kicks Mero in the nuts to setup the finish.
-----
Bruno Sammartino and “Superstar” Billy Graham are on the entrance stage with SoCal Val to have a formal contract signing for their WCW Gulf Coast Title Match at Starrcade. Graham said he asked for this singing, because he wanted to see the fear in Sammartino’s eyes. Bruno says it’s not fear Graham sees, it’s determination to finally rectify the title loss Sammartino had against Graham. And he wanted to do this contract signing so Graham could stare down the barrel of what’s coming for him. Sammartino signs while locking eyes with Graham. Graham signs while locking eyes with Sammartino. They stare down. Graham tries a punch, but Sammartino blocks. Sammartino tries a punch, but Graham blocks. Security comes out and gets between them before something can really break loose.

Hulk Hogan, Kevin Owens and Magnum TA defeated Paul Orndorff, Tom Magee and Kevin Kross by pinfall of Magnum on Magee via belly to belly suplex at 14:34.
Hogan slips out of the Mega Driver and hulks up, but as he goes into the ropes for the leg drop, Owens makes a blind tag. Hogan is shocked by this, but instead of taking the apron, he attacks Kross and Orndorff who double team him on the floor. He calls to Owens for helps (Monsoon wonders if Hogan saw Davey Boy do something similar earlier. Callis says no, because that would mean Hogan was watching the show). He seems conflicted, but Magnum asks for the tag and finishes the bout while Owens helps Hogan. Hogan poses to end the show while Magnum just kind of leaves and Owens seems confused about what just went down.
