WCCW Wrestling Star Wars
From Strahan Arena, San Marcos, Texas. Saturday, October 29thPromoter: Paul Boesch
General Manager: William Regal
Announce Team: The Professional Brian Myers & Pat McAfee
We start the show with a Video Package of highlights from the big matches of recent shows. Pat McAfee and Brian Myers are yelling over the crowd noise to welcome us to Strahan Arena for World Class Wrestling Star Wars!
They tell us Paul Boesch will be here in person tonight, and he is going to be introducing some new signees to World Class. Pat says he has seen the list and is SUPER STOKED! Myers notes there is a ton of great talent already on the roster, and he can't wait to find out who is joining them.
Pat says his lips are sealed, and transitions to talking about our first match.
Wheeler Yuta vs. Curt Hennig
Yuta is fresh off an impressive showing at Blast Off, during the Texas Heavyweight Title match. Hennig swats his gum in Wheeler's face and gets charged in the corner. The referee, perhaps sensing he isn't getting any separation anytime soon, just calls for the bell and we are underway!
Yuta strikes hard and fast, keeping Curt off balance. Yuta rolls him into an STF and Hennig is forced to crawl his way to the ropes. Henning blocks a knee strike and grounds Wheeler with some old fashioned mat grappling. Yuta has a Hammerlock, then a wristlock transition into a suplex. Hennig with a biel and an abdominal stretch. Yuta fights back, but gets German Suplexed into the turnbuckles and stumbles out. Henning with a kick, front face lock, and then snaps off a Perfect Plex for the win.
Your Winner, Pinfall (7:43) Curt Hennig
Curt jumps down to the announce table, and grabs Myers' headset. He says this kid is good, but he is clearly better. Henning can't understand why Yuta was the replacement in the Texas Title Match last month instead of Curt himself, so he is calling out the winner of the Texas Heavyweight Title Match later tonight and putting them on notice. It is his destiny as the leader of the West Texas Rednecks to become Texas Heavyweight Champion. And when he does, it will be simply... Perfect.
Pat echoes Curt's points and Myers regains his composure as the next participants are introduced.
The Mercenaries w/ General Skandor Akbar vs. The Blackjacks
Myers points out this is the first time we are seeing the Mercenaries at a clear cut size disadvantage. Pat thinks their intensity will make up the difference, and that appears to be the case. At the bell, Lanza is rushed by Mercenary 1, and beaten to his knees in the corner.
Frequent tags, repeated knee lifts and hard elbows to the back of the head have Lanza in deep trouble. He stumbles towards his corner, but no one is home, as Akbar has yanked Mulligan to the floor and drawn the official's eye while the Mercenaries double team Lanza. A Spike Piledriver does the trick and the bell rings 3 counts later.
Your Winners, Pinfall (3:28) The Mercenaries
True to form, the Mercenaries and Akbar proceed to beat and kick both Blackjacks into a bloody mess. William Regal sends a dozen security members to the ring to restore order. Akbar calls off his masked men. As they head up the ramp, Akbar can be heard clearly stating they had other business to attend to tonight.
Pat and Brian speculate what other business they could have as the next combatants are introduced.
Ultimo Dragon vs. Rey Mysterio Jr.
As the men trade fast-paced offenses, Myers points out the differences in the action currently in the ring and the brutality we witnessed after the previous match. Dragon hits a springboard moonsault on Rey to the floor. Mysterio gets a 619 and West Coast pop for a 2 count. Ultimo with a standing hurricanrana and back handspring elbow. Rey with a Tornado DDT and a Top Rope Bulldog to get the 1..2..3
Your Winner, Pinfall (6:01) Rey Mysterio Jr.
Pat is talking almost as fast as the pace of action. Stupendous, Amazing and Unbelievable get used multiple times. Myers thinks that win could set Rey up for a title match or two down the line.
And speaking of title matches down the line, the WCCW Championship Committee has been working on invitations for a WCCW Tag Team Title Tournament. And here tonight, we will see four of the top contenders in a HUGE eight man tag team bout. and that match is next!
The Road Warriors & Demolition vs. The Rock & Roll Express & The Fantastics
We see much more cohesion on the Rock& Roll/Fantastics side that the opposition. Morton & Fulton manage to cut Ax off from the others and the lightning fast tags and offense have the big man on one knee and in trouble. Hawk has seemingly had enough and barrels across the ring, taking out both Rock & Rollers. Rogers is no match for Smash one on one, and Animal tags himself in and powerslams Rogers for the 1..2..3.
Pat and Brian attempt to narrate some highlights, but suddenly, out of nowhere, a brawl between the Road Warriors and Demolition breaks out. No one gains any traction, and they end up all on the floor regrouping and yelling across the ringside area at one another as they depart.
Your Winners, Pinfall (8:22) The Road Warriors & Demolition
Myers talks us through the chaos, as Pat leads us to our next match.
The Total Package Lex Luger vs. Buddy Murphy
Lex dominates early on, but Buddy rallies and keeps The Total Package off balance a while. Lex gets caught with a middle rope dropkick and is dazed. Murphy connects with a running knee and a pump handle slam and has the crowd on edge looking for the upset. Murphy to the top rope, poised for a Blockbuster perhaps?... When, suddenly out of nowhere, Father James Mitchell crotches him on the turnbuckle! We discover Luger had the official occupied and of course saw nothing. Lex rambles over, and press slams Buddy high above his head and deposits him hard on the mat. Myers and McAfee are going nuts at the table. Mitchell is from Ohio Valley Wrestling and should not even be here in the arena right now! He should be back in Louisville, where OVW has a major show, Black Harvest, tomorrow night!
Lex waits for Murphy to get back on his feet and levels him with a massive forearm shot. Pat goes nuts explaining the legend of the metal plate in Luger's forearm as Buddy is loaded up in the Torture Rack. It doesn't take long for him to submit and the bell to ring.
Your Winner, Submission (6:32), The Total Package Lex Luger
Mitchell shoves the referee away and raises Lex's hand himself. Somehow, he has a microphone.
"Surprised to see me? Well you shouldn't be. This man has been overlooked and underappreciated in his time here in WCCW. He pulled of a huge win at Blast Off, and what was the follow up? None. Where are his title shots? Given to jobbers. Where are his big interviews? Where are his spotlights? On the undeserving. Well, I tell you where he WON'T be... World Class Championship Wrestling! Because Paul Boesch is too worried about bringing in lesser talents, he's losing the biggest star he has! You see, Lex has an out clause in his World Class contract, a Get out of Texas Free Card, if you will. So here's his official notice. He's exercising that clause right now! From now on, If you want to see The Total Package, you need to tune in to Ohio Valley Wrestling!"
Regal appears on the stage yet again, directing security to the ring to escort the two men out of the arena. Myers and McAfee are busy speculating as to if we will ever see Lex Luger here again, when the music hits and we get ready for our next match.
Tyler Bate vs. Tito Santana
Bate with the hot start, even muscling Santana over for a bridging German Suplex and a near fall. That seems to wake The Matador, and his new vicious streak materializes. He chops and elbows Bate into the corner, then kicks and knees him repeatedly until the referee wedges himself in to break the action. Santana rakes Bate's eyes and lifts him for a snap suplex. He drops a series of lightning quick elbows, then DDTs Bate into the mat. Santana pulls him in for a piledriver and nails Bate with it. No cover, as Santana lifts bate to the turnbuckle and positions himself for a middle rope piledriver! Bate is out cold afterwards and Santana gets the easy 1...2...3
Your Winner, Pinfall (7:56) Tito Santana
Santana gets his hand raised, then kicks Bate until he rolls to the floor. Tito follows up with ANOTHER piledriver, this one one the floor! Then, he pulls the barely conscious Brit to the announce table. He curses at Bate a few times, saying he wishes that this was Rick Martel instead. He lifts Bate up, preparing to piledrive him through the table, when someone leaps from the crowd, onto the barricade, and then tackles Tito to the floor. It is Rick Martel! Tito scrambles for cover as Martel beckons him to fight. EMTs come to ringside and Bate is stretchered out, cervical collar on tight.
Pat is screaming at all the insanity. Myers is in shock. Martel grabs the microphone and challenges Tito Santana to be a man and face him!
McAfee can't wait until that confrontation. Myers too, noting we still have several huge confrontations coming up, including The Lumberjack Steel Cage Match and Bam Bam Bigelow's mystery partner. But first...
The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry w/ Miss Tessmacher vs. Vader w/ General Skandor Akbar
Pat is chanting Big Meaty Men Bumping Meat over and over as this one gets underway. Vader has a bit more agility, and that tips the scales of the initial power stalemate. Vader with a hard whip and a corner avalanche. Henry stumbles out and drops to one knee. Vader pounces and levels him with a clothesline. Henry down and rolls to the floor. Tessmacher hypes her man up and he re-enters the ring to be greeted by a stiff right hand. Henry out punches Vader, and he scoops him up for a huge powerslam! Vader rolls out of the way of the follow up splash and slams Henry himself. Vader drags his foe to the corner, Vaderbomb! 1...2...3!
Your Winner, Pinfall 10:44) Vader
Vader and Akbar celebrate in the ring, when suddenly, the music changes. Myers notes that music belongs to the Universal Heavyweight Champion, Nick Aldis! Aldis is here. He doesn't say a word, but a couple of pointed gestures make his intention clear. At Black Friday on November 25th, it will be Aldis vs. Vader for the UWA Title!
McAfee can't believe the Universal Treasure is choosing a date with the man they call Vader! Myers notes Aldis may not always play by the rules, but he has been a fighting champion. Pat says he's definitely in for a fight come November 25th!
William Regal is out next to talk to the crowd as the cage structure is being assembled, and he is certain this will keep the two men in the ring and away from the crowd. Myers comments that the cage surrounds the ring much like a Hell in a Cell, but with solid bars instead of fencing and the open top of the normal cage match. The lumberjacks will be outside the ring, but inside the cage.
The Natural Dustin Rhodes vs. Wahoo McDaniel Lumberjack Steel Cage Match
Six lumberjacks surround Wahoo McDaniel as he heads to the ring. One he is inside, the cage is locked until Dustin Rhodes, also surrounded by a half-dozen lumberjacks, is walked to the ring as well. Rhodes steps through the cage door and all hell breaks loose. The referee quickly retreats to the corner of the cage and climbs the bars to stay out of harms way. Rhodes and Wahoo have their hands on each other's throats. Rick Martel has found Tito Santana, and Demolition and The Road Warriors continue their assaults from earlier. Randomly, War Machine and The Blackjacks are pounding on each other. For some reason, Doom are at each other's throats as well, while Ivan Koloff and Curt Henning are getting better acquainted. Chairs are wielded all over. Someone has a turnbuckle wrench, and it gets passed around, causing blood to flow off of nearly every skull at some point. Wahoo and Dustin take turns levelling each other with the ring steps. Chris Adams is super-kicking anything that moves. The Crowd is cheering along with it all.
Myers turns to Pat and says he has no idea how to call this match, it is like a hardcore battle royal on steroids. Pat can't even call it a match, it is more like Caged Chaos. Boko, the Texas State Bobcat Mascot, is somehow one of the lumberjacks now, and he does a dive off the ring post to the floor, taking out about a dozen men in one fell swoop to a huge ovation. Mysterio and Ultimo are each scaling opposite sides of the cage as the battles rage on. They point at each other, and leap off the top of the cage with stereo moonsaults, each taking out a pile of humanity as they land.
The camera catches through the mayhem Wahoo and Dustin, both passed out in pools of blood in a corner. The official, still clinging to the wall of the cage, finally sees this and calls for the bell to the resounding displeasure of the crowd.
Official Decision (16:10) No Contest
William Regal is out, this time surrounded by numerous members of San Marcos' Finest and a couple of Texas Rangers (Lawmen, not baseball players) It takes quite a while to clear the ring. so Brian throws us to backstage, where Paul Boesch is standing by.
Boesch is hoping the fans are enjoying the show so far, despite the rampant attacks and extra-curricular activities happening around the ring. He is here to introduce some new faces to the World Class fans. Starting with someone who in a different circumstance, would be one of the peace officers out there right now, helping to clear the ring. This man has shown a grit to handle all of life's ups and downs with determination, while keeping his faith and family at the forefront. He will be the first entrant in a special ladder match to be held at Black Friday. We will discuss those details at another time, but here is The Light, Mustafa Ali!
Ali thanks Paul for the opportunity. He is here to make his mark and fulfill his so called potential. He can't wait to get in that ring and take on the best stars in wrestling.
Paul can't wait to se Ali mix it up with the other greats here and thinks we will be hearing his name bandied about for years to come. Although Mustafa Ali might be a newcomer to World Class, his next guests certainly are not. Fresh off their performance for WCW at Destination Dallas, let's Welcome home Kerry, Kevin and David Von Erich!
The crowd explodes for this shocker. The Von Erichs start to speak, but the Welcome Back chant drowns out all sound. David is finally able to get the crowd to quell their exuberance. He tells them that World Class was where they were born and bred, and now World Class will always be home. They see a number of old foes out there and know they'll have a target on their backs.
Kerry takes the mic, but never gets a word out. The Mercenaries, flanked by Skandor Akbar, swoop in with baseball bats and metal poles. They quickly bust up all three brothers. Akbar puts the boots to them once they are on the floor. Over and over we hear the sickening thud of solid wood on flesh. Ali tries to help, but is quickly thrown through a wall.
Security, fresh off clearing the ring, finally hit the scene to save the Von Erichs from further damage.
Cut to ringside, and Myers just tosses up his papers. He doesn't know what to say anymore. More surprises, more attacks, more violence. And we still have matches to get through. Pat is stoked and ready to sing Badstreet again tonight. Myers throws it to the ring announcer.
The Freebirds vs Bam Bam Bigelow and his Mystery Partner.
Full Badstreet entrance for Hayes and Gordy. Pat sings along on the announce table. Roberts is conspicuous by his absence. Brian notes that as we get Bam Bam Bigelow standing on the stage. A hush goes over the crowd as a large hand appears on the top of Bam Bam's skull, nearly covering his tattoos completely. The Camera pans up to show the smiling face of Andre The Giant!
McAfee cannot believe his eyes. Andre and Bam Bam together! Myers is sure that this will even the odds.
The Freebirds vs Bam Bam Bigelow and Andre the Giant.
Buddy Roberts rushes to ringside and stands on the apron as if he is part of the match. Bam Bam points it out to Andre, who just shrugs. Gordy and the Giant lock up and Andre uses his huge ass to crush Terry in the corner. Hayes grabs the hair and Andre flips him in the ring and suffocates both of them at once. Bam Bam in and he levels Hayes over and over. Big slam and a diving elbow get Bigelow a near fall.
Roberts scurries around the ring like a rat, gouging eyes and tugging har whenever he can to keep the Freebirds in the match. Andre catches Buddy with a single underhook suplex, and Bam Bam slingshot splashes himself onto Buddy and gets a decisive 1..2...3!
Your Winners, Pinfall (11:37) Bam Bam Bigelow and Andre The Giant
Brian narrates the highlights and Pat throws us to a video recap of Match One of the Best of Seven Series.
The Nature Boy Ric Flair vs. The American Dream Dusty Rhodes - World Class Heavyweight Championship Best of Seven Series - Match Two.
Flair Leads the Series 1-0
Flair Leads the Series 1-0
Another match with a quick start, as Dusty Charges and pins Flair in the corner early on. Rough lefts and rights are followed by a series of 12 Bionic Elbows as the crowd counts along. Dusty takes control with a scoop slam and some quick elbow drops. This one is heading to squashville when Flair rolls out of the ring to regroup. Dusty gives chase, and Flair begs off. Dusty looks around to the crowd, and Flair thumbs him in the eye. Ric runs him into the post and crawls back in, content to let the referee count and take a count out win here. Dusty rallies to beat the count, and Flair gets rammed face first into the turnbuckles. Flair is woozy, and does the Face First Flop. Dusty goes for the Figure 4, but Ric is in the ropes and there is no count. Ric chop blocks Dusty's leg and rolls to the floor to gather his wits. He tries to climb back in, but Dusty is leaning over the ropes swinging away. The official backs Dusty into a corner and doesn't see Flair pull out a roll of quarters and put them in his fist.
Flair rolls in and swings the loaded fist at Dusty. Rhodes ducks, hits Ric with an Atomic Drop, and Flair and ends up bumping the referee to the floor. Rhodes grabs the roll of quarters, teases the crowd about nailing Ric with them. Flair begs off, then lunges, and eats a Huge Bionic Elbow between the eyes that puts his lights out! Dusty covers, the referee slides into the ring in time to count the 1...2...3!
Your Winner via Pinfall (12:44) Dusty Rhodes
The referee goes to raise Dusty's hand and sees the roll of quarters fall from Rhodes' hand. The referee yanks Dusty's arm down roughly, wags his finger in Dream's face, and walks over to a prone Flair and raises his limp arm. Pat is incredulous, Myers is confused about what is happening here, The referee leans through the ropes and tells the ring announcer to make the declaration
Your Winner, via Reverse Decision (12:44) Ric Flair!
Dusty is begging the referee to listen and proclaims his innocence, but the pleas fall on deaf ears. Brian says the referee's decision is final and he alone has the right to change that decision based on the evidence he sees. Pat is chanting Travesty, Travesty as Flair stumbles his way up the ramp, barely able to raise his hand, but now halfway to a championship.
Seth Freakin' Rollins vs. The Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff w/ Ivan Koloff - Texas Heavyweight Championship Match
Full entrances for each man. Seth directs the crowd to sing along and they do, then he stops and weaves them off. That draws the crowd's ire and establishes him as the heel for this match. Nikita gets a great ovation and is warming up the shoulder in preparation for a Sickle later on. The bell sounds and Nikita with a hard charge out of the corner... THE SICKLE CONNECTS! 1...2... NO! Wow that was close. Pat is squealing at the top of his lungs that Nikita almost had him!
Brian brings us back to earth as Koloff has Rollins hoisted for a big suplex, then a Running Big Boot. Koloff crouches, poised for another Sickle, but the Visionary rolls out of the ring. Ivan meets him by grabbing Seth's hair and tossing him back inside. Seth ducks a punch and kicks Nikita's knee out from under him. Standing moonsault gets Seth a quick 2 count. He pulls Nikita up and starts to hook him for the Pedigree. Nikita backdrops Seth out of it, Rollins lands on his feet, Koloff turns around into a SUPERKICK! Koloff flat back bumps to the mat and Rollins scrambles for a 1...2...No!
Myers tells Pat to calm down before he strokes out. Seth can't believe that wasn't enough, He stalks Nikita as he gets up. Ripcord Knee! Koloff lands face first on the mat and starts to push himself up. Rollins hits the ropes, CURBSTOMP! 1....2....NO! How did he kick out of that! Rollins is beside himself, pleading with the official. Koloff back to his feet, he catches the superkick and spins Rollins around. SICKLE! 1...2...ANOTHER KICKOUT!
Both men struggle to get to their feet before the ten count. Nikita pins Seth in the corner, driving shoulder after shoulder into Seth's abdomen. Seth staggers out into a spinebuster. Koloff hoists himself to the middle turnbuckle and looks to hit Uncle Ivan's kneedrop! No one is home!. Nikita limps around after the missed knee and walks into a kick to the gut. Pedigree. 1...2...3!
Your Winner, via Pinfall (19:02) And still Texas Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins!
Rollins grabs the belt and prepares to helicopter it, when Vaguely Familiar Music plays and Curt Hennig stands on the stage. He holds up a piece of paper and points at Rollins. Myers speculates that Curt got his wish. Pat says he can't wait for Black Friday! Hennig vs. Rollins! Brian reminds the viewers to join us in Corpus Christi for a Special event, The Ghost on the Coast, live from ON BOARD the USS Lexington. And just a week after that is the next Lone Star Live! on Veteran's Day from Fort Bliss. And finally, World Class's long awaited Return to the Metroplex; Black Friday on November 25th from Globe Life Field in Arlington!
