PRO WRESTLING X
LOS ANGELES, CA
06/05/2021
We pan a packed house here in Los Angeles, with 8,000 fans packed in here and a hip hop beat playing in the background as graphics for Pro Wrestling X flashing across the screen. We get a little hype feature, showing some of the big moves and great spots featuring the participants in tonight's event before heading to the announcer's table, where we see veteran MMA and newly transitioned pro wrestling play by play commentator Jimmy Smith standing side by side with veteran of the ring Montel Vontavious Porter.
Smith welcomes the fans to Pro Wrestling X, which brings the "X Factor" that pro wrestling has been missing, whether it's the extremes, the extraordinary, or just the excitement that people are craving. MVP agrees, saying tonight they are going to see fierce competition, and he thinks blood is going to be shed in what is sure to be the sports based presentation fans around the world are looking for in professional wrestling.
Smith goes on to highlight the main event, pitting the seemingly invincible Bill Goldberg against the unbreakable Ken Shamrock! MVP says Goldberg has made a reputation for just ripping guys apart in there in minutes, but he says a guy like Shamrock could find a weakness and exploit it. They send us to a vignette for the match.
We see a training montage spliced together for both Goldberg and Shamrock. Goldberg can be seen tackling a heavy bag and slamming it, pounding it into the ground with elbows and forearms. Shamrock can be seen kicking a pad held by a coach and then sparring on the mat with a partner. Shamrock says that Goldberg has been dodging him for years and he's going to enjoy getting his hands on him and stretching him out, making "Da Man" tap out once and for all! We cut to Goldberg, who spits off to the side and says he's going to make Shamrock his bitch like he has everybody else because, GUESS WHAT!? YOU'RE NEXT!!!
We head back to Smith and MVP, who put over the match a little longer before sending it to the ring for the first match of the evening.
Jerry Lynn vs. Sean Waltman
These two came up together in the Midwest independent scene and have had countless matches against each other. This was a savvy first match to put on, as these guys knew how to work pace and keep the crowd involved, as Waltman would use cheap tactics to get over on Lynn, while Lynn worked the crowd getting sympathy and a pop for his comeback. Waltman uses a low blow to neutralize Lynn near the end before heading up top, only to get caught with a Dropkick in mid-air! Lynn would then come off the middle turnbuckle, flying and taking Waltman down with a Tornado DDT, floating over and hooking the leg hard to get the pinfall!
Winner by Pinfall: Jerry Lynn
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Tommy End
This match started out slow, as Nakamura took End down and tested his mat skills. End would manage to pick the pace up and send things to the outside, where he ran off the apron and smashed Nakamura on the floor with a Meteora! End sends Nakamura back into the ring and springboards in with a Kneestrike, going for the cover but only a two count. End lands a series of shoot kicks before trying for the Black Mass, but Nakamura ducks it and delivers a Bicycle Kneestrike, followed by the Landslide, but only a two count! Nakamura tries for the Boma Ye, but End dodges it and rolls Nakamura up with a School Boy for a two count. End gets up quickly and tries for a Spinning Heel Kick to the kneeling Nakamura, but Nakamura ducks it and grabs him from behind, delivering a Release German Suplex, followed by a BRUTAL Boma Ye, folding End up like a lawn chair and putting him down for the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Shinsuke Nakamura
Perry Saturn vs. Ron Killings
Saturn looked very intense coming up, yelling and slobbering all over himself as he threatened the fans on the way to the ring! Ron Killings would get the fans behind him, having a good time and mocking Saturn as he danced and hyped everybody up. MVP warned that Killings might not want to get Saturn any more riled up, and that proved to be prophetic, as Saturn charged Killings while his back was turned before the bell and began blasting him with crossface punches and knees to the kidneys. Saturn would then deliver a Pumphandle Suplex, going for the hard cover but only getting a two count. Killings is hurting and the fans are rallying behind him. Saturn delivers a Superkick to Killings in the corner, really rocking him and sending him hurting to the apron. Saturn poses and yells at the crowd, getting massive boos. Saturn then goes for Killings on the apron, but Killings delivers a shoulder block to the midsection, followed by a Slingshot Rocker Dropper, getting a big pop as he went for the cover, but only a two count! Killings picks up Saturn and delivers a Body Slam, followed by a Springboard Twisting Legdrop, but still just a two count! Killings claps and rallies the fans before heading up to the top rope. Saturn gets back up and sees Killings on top and decides to run and catch him, slinging him off with a Super Belly to Belly Suplex! Saturn calls for the end and heads up top, flying off with a Moonsault, but Killings gets the knees up! Killings is back up and delivers a Leaping Twisting Roundhouse Kick, cleaning Saturn's clock and he hooks the near leg, and it's all over! MVP points out that Saturn made a tactical error and paid for it and Killings gets the big win!
Winner by Pinfall: Ron Killings
Before the next match we get a pre-taped interview and montage for both men to hype up the match. Vampiro says he has been looking to end this kid for awhile. Vampiro claims that Damian Priest has gone around everywhere pretending to be him and stealing his style, and he is sick of him and wants to teach him a lesson and send him packing. Priest goes on to say that Vampiro is delusional, and you can see that everywhere. He says you can just look up Vampiro talking about anything regarding wrestling, and you'll find nothing but lies and delusions of grandeur. Priest says Vampiro didn't invent anything and is only a legend in his own mind, and he is the one who is going to be humbled tonight.
Damian Priest vs. Vampiro
These two came out with a lot of fire and seemed to want to hurt each other, as the big blows and kicks really landed with purpose and the fans were drawn in. Vampiro would manage to send Priest out of the ring with a Spin Kick, and then tried to follow up with a Suicida, but Priest was able to move out of the way and caused Vampiro to eat some guard rail. Priest would then show his agility, flying off the apron with a Moonsault and crushing Vampiro into the railing, before posing and getting a pop while standing in the crowd. Priest leaps and gets up on the railing but Vampiro catches him with a kick to the legs, sending him down gut first on the railing! Vampiro then gets up on the apron and does the old RVD Spinning Legdrop to the back of Priest, bringing him back over the railing the hard way to the floor! Vampiro hypes the crowd himself, getting a decent reaction, before grabbing Priest by the hair and sending him back into the ring. Vampiro heads up to the top rope and tries to fly off with a Spin Kick, but Priest dodges it and Vampiro lands hard. Priest answers with a Bicycle Kick, followed by the Broken Arrow, but only gets a two count! Priest calls for the end and tries for Hit the Lights, but Vampiro reverses it, turning his body and hitting a Northern Lights Suplex for a two count! Vampiro rolls through it and lifts Priest up and delivers a Uranage Suplex, but still just a two count! Vampiro is calling for the end now and attempts to lift Priest up for the Nail in the Coffin, but Priest floats out of it and delivers a Jumping Knee to Vampiro, following up with the Hit the Lights, and it's all over! Priest gets the win, but what a battle!
Winner by Pinfall: Damian Priest
Priest waits for Vampiro to recover and the announce team wonders out loud and contemplate what Priest's intentions are. Priest looks around to the fans and then offers Vampiro his hand. Vampiro stares at the offer before accepting and then stating clearly and audibly that he wants a chance to do it again in the future, and Priest says they will run it back.
Konnan vs. Sabu
This match was absolutely wild, as these two came to just bring the pace and the destruction. We saw a lot of interesting ways to use furniture, as the dare devil tactics of Sabu were in full effect as he dealt with the strength and agility of Konnan. The biggest spot of the match was set up like this: Sabu would set up Konnan on a table on the outside and then head up top with a chair; Konnan would roll off of the table and catch Sabu on the top and rip the chair away from Sabu and headbutt him, following up with a Sunset Powerbomb off of the top to the outside through the table to get a HUGE reaction from the crowd and the announce team! Back on the inside, Konnan would deliver a Powerbomb to Sabu onto the seat of an unfolded chair, crushing Sabu and rolling him up for the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Konnan
In preparing for the only women's match of the evening, we got a vignette and montage for both Shayna Baszler and Sonya Deville, who were preparing to go to war with one another. Deville says she knows Baszler is powerful and feared in the sport of women's professional wrestling, but she says she is as dangerous as anybody in the game and is going to to finish Baszler tonight. Baszler says she knows Deville and respects her, but she doesn't belong in the ring with her and is going to get hurt tonight.
Shayna Baszler vs. Sonya Deville
Deville opens up trying to keep her distance and land some low kicks, but Baszler manages to catch her with a shot to the head and then slams her to the mat with a takedown. Baszler ground and pounds Deville before dead lifting her into a sideways German Suplex, pinning her afterwards but only getting a two count. Baszler goes for her Rear Naked Choke but Deville blocks it and scrambles back up to her feet and delivers a Step Up Enzuigiri for a two count! Deville goes for a Kimura, but Baszler is able to escape and delivers a Standing STO. Baszler attempts a Shoot Kick, but Deville grabs her leg and then rushes Baszler into the corner, followed by a series of repeated Shoot Kicks. The announcers are putting over the pace of this action, as MVP proclaims that this can't last much longer like this. Baszler catches an oncoming kick in the corner from Deville and shoves her to the mat, flying down and delivering a downward elbow to smash her into the mat. Baszler grabs her by the hair and bounces Deville's head off the mat five times before yanking her up and grabbing her into the Rear Naked Choke and then taking her over into a Suplex right onto the top of her head! Jimmy Smith yells out OH MY GOD as MVP thinks she might have broken her neck! Baszler rolls thorugh and trasitions, holding the Rear Naked Choke in the Camel Clutch position and Deville is weakly tapping, desperate for this to be over!
Winner by Submission: Shayna Baszler
Bill Goldberg vs. Ken Shamrock
It's the big main event everybody has been waiting for. Shamrock makes his way out of first and the fans give him a great ovation, and it seems like the fans are split here. The California native waits as the lights dim and the chants of Goldberg begin! We go backstage as security knocks on Goldberg's door, and out he comes... "DA MAN" is here in L.A. shouts Jimmy Smith, and MVP talks about the big fight atmosphere we have, as these fans can't wait another minute to see these two lock up! Goldberg makes his way to the ring with the pyro and the smoke breathing and all of that, and then we've got the stare down in the middle of the ring. The referee backs them up to their corners, and the bell sounds!
Shamrock feigns a few shoot attempts, as Goldberg has his hands up and is trying to figure out the range. Goldberg throws out a front kick, and Shamrock deflects it. Shamrock rushes it and these two lock up in a collar and elbow tie up. After a struggle, Goldberg backs Shamrock up into the corner and begins blasting him with knees to the mid section! Goldberg clubs him to the back and Shamrock flies out of the ring through the ropes and the fans are on the edge of their seats! Goldberg grabs Shamrock and whips him into the guardrail, and Shamrock slams off the railing and spins away, his kidneys throbbing in pain. Goldberg yells out and spits before stalking his prey. Shamrock pulls himself up on the ring steps and Goldberg rushes him, but Shamrock dodges it and Goldberg cleans his own clock, bashing into the steel steps full force!
After a few moments, we see Goldberg has been busted open and is looking wobbly! The fans are cheering and the Shamrock contingent is loudly chanting his name!
Shamrock rolls back into the ring and yells at Goldberg to get back in! Goldberg is shaking off the cobwebs and sees the blood and snarls. Goldberg rolls in and Shamrock goes on the attack with stomps and soccer kicks! Shamrock grabs him by the waist and lifts him with a Belly to Back Suplex, trying for the cover but only a one count! Shamrock stays on the offensive, trying for a Cross Armbar, but Goldberg manages to block it and power out, delivering a Powerbomb of sorts to break the hold! Goldberg proceeds to pound Shamrock into the mat with short forearms and elbows, concluding with a hammer fist that seems to really rock Shamrock! MVP says Shamrock looks like he's in big trouble as Goldberg lifts him off the mat!
Goldberg lifts Shamrock up and sends him up into the Military Press position! Blood has covered Goldberg's face now as he yells out and then drops Shamrock onto his shoulder and powerslams him onto the mat with authority! The Goldberg fans now are deafening as this match looks to be over! Goldberg goes to the corner, grabbing the top rope and waits for Shamrock to regain his footing. Shamrock pulls himself up, wobbly and in a lot of pain. Goldberg charges... SPEAR! SPEAR! THE CROWD GOES WILD!
Goldberg pops up and goes into his signature pose, calling for the Jackhammer!
Goldberg grabs Shamrock up and milks it as he hooks him in, turning and looking at the crowd, yelling, before lifting Shamrock up... IT'S OVE- NO! NO! Shamrock floats out of it and takes Goldberg down with a Fujiwara Armbar! Shamrock then rolls and transitions... ANKLE LOCK! HE'S GOT THE ANKLE LOCK ON GOLDBERG! The fans can't believe it and everybody is standing! He doesn't have it cinched in enough, though, and Goldberg rolls through and sends Shamrock into the corner! Goldberg is up and runs at Shamrock, trying to Spear him in the corner, but Shamrock dodges again, and Goldberg eats the turnpost once more, taking it on the shoulder! Goldberg stumbles out backwards holding his shoulder and Shamrock jumps him from behind, pulling him down into a Crucifix Hold!
The referee is counting! ONE, TWO, THR- No, GOLDBERG ROLLS HIS SHOULDERS OFF THE MAT! Goldberg is still trapped, though, as Shamrock stays on him. Goldberg is trying to power out, but MVP thinks his shoulder has taken too much damage and he has lost too much blood! Shamrock is landing elbows and hammer fists to Goldberg, who's arms are trapped in the Crucifix, and this is BRUTAL! Blood is flying everywhere, and Goldberg is looking out of it! THE REF IS CALLING IT! THE REF IS CALLING IT! SHAMROCK HAS DONE IT!
Winner by TKO: Ken Shamrock
After the match, Shamrock gets on the mic and thanks the fans for being here for one of the best moments of his career and he says he loves them, getting a huge reaction! Goldberg shoves the referee away and says he wasn't done, before throwing a chair on the outside! He stumbles away, refusing medical attention as the show comes to an end.
