CCW Gulf Coast Wednesday Warfare, Episode 12
Commentators: Gorilla Monsoon and Honky Tonk Man
Ring Announcer: SoCal ValLive from the Ford Center in Beaumont, Texas
The show opens with a pan of the arena and Gorilla Monsoon welcoming everyone to the show. He throws it to Andy Kaufman standing in the center of the ring. The fans are jeering.
AK: You boo me, but you worship me at the same time. You do so, by paying your hard earn money to buy tickets. You do so, by watching at home and giving us ratings (Kaufman stares into the camera as he says this). Whatever I give you, you all say ‘thank you, sir, may I have another.’ (The booing intensifies) I guess, you don’t want to hear about the first Gulf Coast brand pay-per-view? I guess you don’t want to hear who your precious Kurt Angle will be facing? (The crowd cheers) The Original Four Horsemen has proven to me that they not only belong here in the Gulf Coast brand of Continental Championship Wrestling but on top…other than myself, of course, and my new man who I have coming. The greatest wrestler any of you will ever hope to see once he gets here.
But until that time, I will give the Horsemen what they want and I know it’s what all of you want to see too, it just won’t have the outcome you want. At In Your House: Tupelo the Minnesota Wrecking Crew will defend the Gulf Coast Tag Team Titles against Strike Force, Curt Hennig will face Tully Blanchard and Kurt Angle will put the Gulf Coast Title on the line against Ric Flair. And here tonight, we’ll parcel out the eight man tag main event from last week. Flair and Blanchard will face Strike Force and, in a non-title affair, the Minnesota Wrecking Crew will take on Two K/Curts One Belt…we need to workshop that.

Chris Candido vs. “Frozen Boulder” Stevie Houston
Referee: Joey Marella
Houston is dressed like Candido last week when he was Guy Incognito. The commentators talk about how Sunny dumped Candido for Steve Austin and he got his old job back from Andy Kaufman, because he knew it would create drama and drama is ratings. Monsoon believes Houston is Steve Austin trying to turn the tables on Candido, but HTM doesn’t see it.
Houston wrestles like Austin for most of the match hitting a Thesz Press with mounted punches, pointed elbow drop off the second turnbuckle and stomping a mudhole in Candido in the corner. He goes for the Stunner, but Candido shoves him out of it and gets a scoop slam as he comes off the ropes. Houston backdrops out of a butterfly powerbomb try. He goes for a second Stunner, but Candido grabs him around the waist and looks for a back suplex, but Houston flips out of it to his feet. He charges…right into a turnaround superkick from Candido. Butterfly powerbomb for the finish.
WINNER: Candido by pinfall at 7:35
Candido unmasks Stevie Houston and it’s…Paul Diamond. Candido is confused and that allows Steve Austin to come out from underneath the ring and attack Candido from behind. Sunny leads Pat Tanaka down the aisle and a three on one beatdown ensues. The Fantastics run out to even the odds and clear the ring. It’s mentioned how the Fantastics and Badd Company have been feuding on the online exclusive show. If you’re not watching it, you should.
The Four Horsemen are in the back, laughing maniacally and rubbing their hands together with Heenan standing in the middle of them.
BH: Last week it was a mass beatdown, this week it will be divide and conquer. Hennig and Angle, you’re lucky it’s not for the tag titles tonight or you would be even more embarrassed. Without the belts to worry about, it means the Wrecking Crew can have some fun taking you apart. And Strike Force, Chico and Little Ricky, you have no idea who you’re getting into the ring with when it’s two of the greatest professional wrestlers any of the ham and eggers in this arena have ever seen.
RF: Don’t think we’re looking past you tonight, Strike Force, but the real goal is and always has been the Gulf Coast Title. After In Your House Tupelo, woo, I’ll be the Gulf Coast Champion, the Andersons will still have the tag belts and Curt Hennig, you won’t be even close to perfect after Tully works you over. To be the men, you have to beat the men. It’s not happening at In Your House and it’s not happening tonight. Woo!

“The Man with the Hands of Stone” Ronnie Garvin vs. Dash Wilder
Referee: Tommy Young
Monsoon mentions how the Revival haven’t been seen since the brand split and it was thought they had been turfed by the reformed Original Horsemen, since the Revival were part of Ric Flair’s Elite Horsemen group. HTM said Kaufman is giving them an opportunity to get their old jobs back. Scott Dawson already lost to Bobby Fulton on the online exclusive show. If you’re not watching it, you should. They also talk about the wild brawl Garvin and Dave Bautista had the previous week.
Wilder controls early, but as he goes for a spinebuster, Garvin slams down a stiff punch when Wilder gets him up. Garvin with a gutwrench suplex and then he does the Garvin Stomp. Diving leg drop off the second turnbuckle ends it.
WINNER: Garvin by pinfall at 5:47
As Garvin celebrates the win, Dave Bautista runs down the aisle, slides into the ring and pops up to clobber Garvin from behind. They brawl, spilling through the ropes and going up the aisle, fists flying.
Robert Gibson, who is acting as backstage interviewer while off injured, is with the Gulf Coast Cruiserweight Champion Dynamite Kid.
RG: Dynamite Kid, last week you lost a tag team match to Rey Mysterio and Brian Pillman Jr. when Pillman pinned your partner Lance Storm.
DK: The only reason HE took the loss was because Shawn Michaels stuck his nose in where it didn’t belong.
RG: He super kicked you and prevented you from using the cruiserweight title for nefarious purposes.
DK: ………Keep your trap shut or I’ll injure your other knee and you’ll be out twice as long. What I was doing doesn’t matter. The fact that Shawn Michaels was out where he didn’t belong does. He hides behind a supposed concussion. Well, rub some dirt in it you Nancy boy and face me in the ring like a man.
RG: Brian Pillman Jr. will be facing Lance Storm tonight one-on-one. Your thoughts?
DK: (scoffs) If Pillman wins tonight, I’ll give him a title match next week out of the kindness of my own heart. Because if he pins Lance Storm tonight, that’s two miracles two weeks in a row and I’ll be happy to help the bloke press his luck.

“Nature Boy” Ric Flair and Tully Blanchard with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. Strike Force (Rick Martel and Tito Santana)
Referee: Tommy Young
The faces use quick tags to control early on. Santana with a hard whip of Flair into the corner and he pops out for a big backdrop. Blanchard tries to come in, which draws in Martel. Young tries to keep them apart. This allows Flair to get a low blow as Tito goes to pick him up. The heels takeover with a long heat segment on Santana. Blanchard with a slingshot supelex with floatover for a close two count. Running shoulder breaker for another close two count. Tully telegraphs a backdrop and Santana gets a swinging neckbreaker. Both down. Both make tags. Martel is a house of fire. He monkey flips Flair out of the corner. He skids to the opposite corner and comes up in the beg off position. Martel with a baseball slide dropkick into Ric. He goes to the floor to confer with Heenan, but Flair flops. Martel goes out to get Flair and Heenan gets in his face. Heenan gets scared as Martel teases a punch, but he lands the Moe Howard eye poke. Young misses it as he’s dealing with Santana and Blanchard in the ring. Flair with a Snake Eyes on the ring apron. Tully throws Tito to the floor as Flair rolls Martel back into the ring. It’s a miracle as Flair lands a knee drop off the top rope and he makes the pin with his feet on the ropes.
Winner: Four Horsemen by pinfall of Flair over Martel at 18:50
Kurt Angle and Curt Hennig are in the back together.
CH: I can’t believe I ever wanted to be part of your little club, the Original Four Horsemen. Original just means you’re old, washed up and past any relevancy.
KA: Curt just gave you three terms to describe the Horsemen. I’ll give you the three I’s to describe us. We’ve got intelligence, integrity and intensity. That will carry us to a victory tonight over the Minnesota Wrecking Crew and it will carry us to individual victories at In Your House.
CH: Tully Blanchard, you’ve got a bur up your rear end about me and you can’t quite seem to explain why. Is it jealously? Is it because as good as you claim to be, you’ll never be perfect? Is it because your pet slingshot suplex will never be a PerfectPlex?
KA: Ric Flair hasn’t held gold once since being here in Continental Championship Wrestling. It’s all he talks about, but he can’t seem to get the job done. And you won’t do it at In Your House. You always say to be the man, you have to beat the man. Well, this belt says I’m the man. Woo!
CH: No……just no.
Hennig walks off and Kurt looks hurt.
KA: Woo…I can get better at it. Woo…that one was better. Wait, no…woo…wait, no, hold on here…

Brian Pillman Jr. vs. Lance Storm
Referee: Joey Marella
It’s mentioned how Pillman pinned Storm in the tag match last week. Storm jaws at Pillman and slaps him in the face. Pillman comes back with a slap and then makes with a flurry of quick strikes. Storm goes to the floor for a breather, but takes a suicide dive. Pillman throws Lance back into the ring and goes for Air Pillman, but Storm sees it coming and ducks. Brian wipes out. Lance with a long beatdown where he works the leg. He scores the Canadian Maple Leaf, but Pillman breaks by making the ropes. As they come up near the ropes, Pillman backdrops Lance to the apron. He lands on his feet and nails Brian with a forearm shot as he picks his head up. Storm gloats as he goes for Air Pillman, but Brian catches him and turns it into a Rock Bottom. Dying Promise.
Winner: Brian Pillman Jr. by pinfall at 9:30
Robert Gibson is back with Shawn Michaels
RG: Shawn Michaels, Dynamite Kid had some tough words for you earlier tonight and claims you are milking your concussion to avoid him.
SM: There’s nothing I want more than to be back in that ring. Anymore, doctors have very strict concussion protocols and I’m following them to the letter. When I get in that ring with Dynamite Kid, I want to be at 100%. I know I’ll need to be to defeat him. I’m told I should be cleared by In Your House Tupelo and I’ve got that date circled in red on my calendar.
RG: Also, earlier tonight, Kid said he would put his cruiserweight title on the line against Brian Pillman Jr. if he won tonight, which he did.
SM: I hope Pillman busts your teeth in next week. I’d be proud to face him at In Your House for the cruiserweight title. And, next week, I’ll be proud to be in his corner. I’m going to have my eyes on you Dynamite and if you try anything funny, no concussion is going to prevent me from tuning up the band and delivering to you another verse of Sweet Chin Music.

Non-Title Match
Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Ole and Arn Anderson) with Bobby “The Brain” Heenan vs. Kurt Angle and “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig
Referee: Tommy Young
The heels control early on Angle, but Arn telegraphs a backdrop and takes a rising knee lift to the mush. That straightens him up and Angle gets a jumping, hooking clothesline to put him down. He gets PerfectPlex for two. As he comes up, Hennig just shakes his head. Tag out. Hennig gets an Olympic Slam for two. Angle just shakes his head from the apron. An Overdrive gets two. Heenan jumps up on the apron and that allows Ole to fly in and clip the knee. Arn with a knee breaker and he tags Ole. The heels focus on the knee. Ole goes for a figure four leglock, but Hennig boots him out of it. He crawls for the tag, but Arn runs in and drags him back. Young and AA argue, allowing Ole to get some blatant choking. Tag to Arn who works a leg grapevine while pounding the knee. Hennig gets a fishhook, forcing Anderson to break. AA goes for a high angle spinebuster, but Curt turns it into a desperation rana. Tag to Kurt. He’s a house of fire. He knocks Ole off the apron. Heenan jumps up and gets knocked off the apron. Arn walks into a reverse atomic drop. Olympic Slam. Ankle lock and AA taps out.
WINNER: The Two C/Kurts by submission of Angle on Arn at 21:45
Flair and Blanchard run out, but are jumped by Strike Force from behind and everyone fights to the fade.
