CCW Mid-America Superstar Saturday on SCA, episode 27
Taped at WMC-TV Station in Memphis, Tennessee
Commentators: Bob Caudle and Dutch Mantel
Ring Announcer: Missy Hyatt
The show starts with a replay from the end of the last episode with Jerry Lawler knocking Randy Savage out with the Mid-America title belt. We go live to Lawler in the ring and the fans are jeering him loudly.
JL: I wanted to apologize for my actions (boos grow louder) from last week I became frustrated with (boos grow louder)…SHUT UP! YOU ALL SHUT UP WHILE I’M TALKING. I’M JERRY LAWLER, DAMN IT!
And as he continues to yell, the Princes of Darkness of Jake Roberts and Kevin Sullivan come out. Jake has a microphone and talks from the floor.
JR: It’s obvious these fans don’t appreciate what you’ve done for them, but we do (gestures between himself and Sullivan). We’re grateful to be here in Mid-America and we recognize your sacrifice to make this happen, which these people here in the studio can’t seem to understand.
JL: Exactly, that’s all I want, some gratitude. None of you would be here now if it wasn’t for me.
KS: Every single human being living in this god forsaken city should get on their knees and kiss the ground you walk on. But, instead, they’re cheering the so called new Memphis Mafia. Austin Idol, Randy Savage and Eddie Gilbert. What did they ever do for anyone in this town? What did they ever do, but get their asses kicked by you and be bitter about it? Why don’t we show them in the main event today who is the hero and who is the zero? Book a six man tag for today and the fans can see everyone’s true colors.
JL: That is an excellent idea…wait, no. I don’t know about teaming with you two.
JR: We’re the only ones who know how this story should unfold. We’re the only ones who are grateful for your sacrifice. We’re the ones willing to stand by you, not these fans. Jerry, just trust us.
Lawler appears conflicted as we fade to break.

Trevor kicks Graham in the gut before they can lock up. Trevor beats him down until he decides to start no selling and slug back. Scoop slam off the ropes and Trevor rolls to the floor to confer with Dick. Graham reaches through the ropes and does a double noggin knocker on the heels. He goes outside and punches Dick, then Trevor. An atomic drop to Dick, then Trevor. He rolls Trevor back into the ring, but Dick grabs Billy’s foot. As he tries to fight him off, Trevor nails Graham with a punch through the ropes. He suplexes Graham in from the apron, but can’t hold him and Billy collapses on top for a two count. Into the ropes, Graham ducks a lariat and hits the axe bomber coming back the other way. Leg drop. Dick runs into the ring, but Graham jumps up, grabs him by the head and tosses Dick out the other side of the ring with his own momentum. Trevor staggers up into the bear hug.
WINNER: Billy Graham by submission at 5:30
Graham goes over to the commentary position.
BG: That’s one more week and one more win for the baddest cat on the planet, Jack. “Superstar” Billy Graham puts the superstar in “Superstar Saturday” and here soon he’ll be the top champion in Mid-America…
Graham is interrupted by a swaggering Nick Aldis with Kamille in tow. Aldis is in his usual three-piece suit. Kamille is dressed different in business attire, with glasses and her hair up in a tight bun. She clutches a laptop to her chest.
NA: I can’t understand a word coming out of your mouth and I’m guessing the educated fans out there can’t either, although that’s not many. You got your win in the ring, why don’t you go celebrate in the back with a Pabst Blue Ribbon and a pack of hot dogs.
Graham mean mugs Aldis as he walks off, knowing now isn’t the time for a fight.
NA: I haven’t been seen around since Kaufmania, and there’s been a very good reason for that. I’ve been putting together a new stable. One that will run the Mid-America brand of Continental Championship Wrestling like the Four Horsemen control the Gulf Coast brand. Different than any stable I’ve had in the past, I now have the money and technology to put together a fearsome foursome.
Kamille has never gone by her last name in the past, because she didn’t want to ride the family coattails. However, her Aunt Alexandera has recently bequeathed all of the assets of the York Foundation to her favorite niece. And now you’re looking at not only the National Treasure, but the Computerized Man of the 1990s. Today, the York Foundation by special consideration from Executive Vice President Bruce Prichard will rule the middle portion of the program as a formal introduction. But, soon we will rule all of Mid-America.
Aldis offers a handshake at the bell, which Clontz takes and he’s pulled into a short arm clothesline. Nicholas lays in the boots. He pulls Clontz up for a whip into the near corner. He follows with a somersault back elbow. Snap mare out of the corner to a seated position. Aldis delivers a roundhouse kick to the back of the head. Second rope fist drop. Treasure Chest (Pedigree).
Winner: Nicholas Aldis by pinfall at 3:29

Nemeth comes out of a lockup with Davis with a knee to the gut. Tag to Jannetty for a double hip toss. Then a double dropkick to the back of the seated Davis. Jannetty goes for the Rocker Dropper, but Mike manages to flip Marty out of it and get a discus clothesline. Mike whips Marty into his corner and follows with shoulder thrusts. He tags Lane. Lane snapmares Jannetty out of the corner and into a rear chinlock. Marty works up, breaks and goes into the ropes. A crisscross sequence, but Nemeth nails Lane in the back with a knee from the apron while Robinson is distracted by Aldis on the outside. Tag to Nicholas. Double back elbow off the ropes. Davis runs into a double superkick, then a double atomic throw sends him out of the ring. Aldis beats on him out there just because. Zig Zag.
WINNERS: The York Foundation by pinfall of Nemeth on Lane at 9:30

The entire York Foundation is surrounding the ring. RVD seems nervous by this. Aldis grabs the middle rope and acts like he’s going to climb to the apron, this distracts Van Dam, so Rich can attack. He beats on RVD. He goes for a suplex, but RVD blocks and counters into a face first mat slam. He goes for Rolling Thunder, but Nemeth grabs his foot from the outside. He turns to confront Nemeth, but is jumped from behind by Rich again. Patrick admonishes Nemeth and they argue. So, Jannetty runs in and hits the Rocker Dropper on RVD. Rich makes a very nonchalant cover for two. He goes for a power slam, but RVD slips out of the back, shoves Rich into the ropes and hits him coming back with a roundhouse kick. Whip to the corner and RVD gets a step up knee to the side of the head. Body slam and he goes up top. Aldis jumps up on the apron, so Nemeth can jump up and crotch Van Dam. However, before he can, Billy Graham appears, pulls down Nemeth and wallops him a good one. Jannetty and Aldis come over. RVD scores the five star frog splash. After the match he helps Graham to drive the York Foundation off and they shake hands.
WINNER: RVD by pinfall at 7:50
Cut to the announce position where Randy Savage, Austin Idol and Eddie Gilbert come out to a big pop.
RS: The Memphis Mafia is in the studio. Uh-huh. I admit I’ve had trouble with Austin Idol here, uh-huh. I’ve had trouble with Eddie Gilbert here, uh-huh. But the old saying is the enemy of my enemy is my friend and all three of us hate Jerry Lawler. Oh yeah!
AI: Jerry Lawler wants to paint himself a saint, a hero, a savior to the good people of Memphis. You brought wrestling back to Memphis here, but you shouldn’t be begging for everyone to kiss your ass about it. Now aligning yourself with the Princes of Darkness. I know first hand you can’t trust anything Roberts and Sullivan say.
EG: Lawler you were on the fence about that six man tag in the main event. I say that’s all for show or you’re a coward who doesn’t want to face three men who have constantly had your number over the years. The Memphis Mafia want you three in the ring here today. We’ll be there in just a matter of minutes, Lawler. Will you?

Tessa Blanchard sits in on commentary again. She and the commentators recap Blanchard winning the women’s title tournament, but only after Roxxi Leveaux was a substitute opponent in the finals after Taya Valkeriey powerbombed Lita off the entrance stage, because Lita beat her earlier in the night.
Lockup into a crisscroos and Carmella cartwheels away from a back elbow shot. She gloats and walks carelessly into a standing dropkick. She pops up into a second, then a third. Carmella rolls to the floor and Lita follows her out with a suicide dive. She lines up the Twist of Fate on the floor, but Blanchard interrupts by standing up from the commentary position. While they jaw, Carmella pushes Lita into the ring post so she injures her shoulder. Carmella rolls back into the ring. Lita eventually makes the apron and Carmella grabs the arm and drops to ram the shoulder into the top rope. Lita winces and drops back to the floor. Baseball slide by Carmella into the bad shoulder. She picks Lita up into a power slam position and drops her on the apron shoulder first. Back in the ring, Carmella jaws at Robinson. Blanchard rushes over from commentary and nails Lita with a double arm DDT. However, this draws out the Twisted Sisterz who chase Tessa off. Lita barely beats the count out. Carmella lines up the Princess Kick, but Lita grabs the leg and whips Carmella down. She holds on and bangs the knee into the mat. Rope assisted DDT. Twist of Fate. Carmella gets the shoulder up. Up for the Litasault, but Taya Valkyrie appears and blatantly shoves Lita off the top for the disqualification. She then hits the Road to Valhalla. She lines up another, but the Twisted Sisterz return to drive Carmella and Taya off.
WINNER: Lita by DQ at 12:20
Downtown Bruno is with Dude Love at the commentary station. Clips are shown of Dude Love attacking Kerry Von Erich from the week before. This followed Bruno burning Kerry’s eye with a cigar in a match where the Midnight Express faced Kevin and David Von Erich.
DB: Kerry Von Erich should have learned that he shouldn’t stick his nose in where it doesn’t belong or you could lose an eye. And if he wants to keep pressing the matter with me, he’ll wind up with his whole face rearranged thanks to Dude Love.
DL: You know, the main event today has the Dude-arino thinking. Yeah, man. Maybe we can copy some of that action, Jackson, for next week. The Dude and the Midnight Express vs. the three Von Erichs. Can you dig it? I know you can.
DB: If you Von Erich brothers are the men you claim to be you’ll accept the challenge and…
The crowd pop as Kevin Von Erich comes out.
KVE: Kerry isn’t here this week as he has an appointment on his injured eye. And David is still recovering in the back from where Bobby Eaton hit him with a pair of brass knuckles earlier today.
GM: A match that can be seen exclusively online as part of Mid-America Matinee!
KVE: But, on behalf of my brothers and myself, we’ll gladly take that challenge for next week. You see, nothing beats family, Bruno, and the brotherly love we have trumps any fake, jive talking that Dude Love here can do.
DL: Oh hey, now man, sometimes you got to be cruel to be kind. The Duder knows that and he’ll show you the cruel side of his kindness next week on Superstar Saturday. Can you dig it? I know you can.

Memphis Mafia (Randy Savage, Austin Idol and Eddie Gilbert) vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler and the Princes of Darkness (Jake Roberts and Kevin Sullivan)
Referee: Nick Patrick
Lawler is the last out and seems very hesitant to stand on the apron with Roberts and Sullivan. Roberts starts out with Gilbert and they have a pretty even segment. Roberts backs up and points for Gilbert to tag Savage, which he does. Roberts holds out his hand to Lawler, who seems hesitant to take the tag. The fans boo. Savage encourages Lawler to take it and calls him a coward. Now mad, Lawler makes the tag and rushes in to lockup with Savage. Randy shoves Lawler down out of the lock up and the people cheer. Lawler launches into another lockup and shoves Savage out of that. The fans boo. Lawler screams frustrated at the crowd. Savage uses the opportunity to grab Lawler from behind for an atomic drop. The fans cheer. Lawler hits the near corner and comes back out into the boxing jabs. Savage with a hooking clothesline off the ropes. He pulls Lawler up, who hits an eye poke. More jeering. Lawler is almost as surprised by the eye poke as everyone else. He tags out to Sullivan.
Sullivan pounds on Savage with glee and works a neck vice. Savage works up, powers out and hits a jawbreaker. Tag to Idol, who enters with a flying forearm. Hard whip to the corner, but he eats boot on a charge. Sullivan with a double axehandle from the second turnbuckle. He hangs Idol in the tree of woe and rushes in with a hip attack. He tags out to Lawler, who wasn’t expecting it. Sullivan and Roberts encourage Jerry to work him over. After a moment of being unsure, he hears Savage yelling at him from the apron and the crowd booing. This enrages Lawler who then lays the boots into Idol until he finally falls down. Half nelson bulldog out of the corner. Fist drop. He covers for two. He goes to drop another fist, but Lawler becomes aware of the fan reaction again, backs off and tags Roberts. He pulls Idol into a short arm clothesline and then chokes him out on the mat. Hard throw into the heel corner and Roberts goes after Savage and Gilbert, which draws Patrick. Sullivan beats on Idol and encourages Lawler to join in, who hangs back. Jake sets up the DDT, but Idol drops to the mat and sandbags himself. Roberts tries to lift him, but Idol juts up into a backdrop. Standing leg drop. He goes for the tag, but Sullivan runs in to cut it off. This draws in Gilbert and Savage. Everyone is brawling, but Lawler who is still on the apron. While distracted by being conflicted, Sullivan whips Savage into the ropes and he knocks Lawler to the floor. Jerry flies into the ring and wails on Savage. Patrick eventually throws the match out as he can’t gain control and it’s a pier six brawl to the fade.
