Dark Matches (before the PPV)
1. Women's Strap Match. (Both ladies tied together with 10-foot leather strap). Dakota Kai pinned Tegan Knox using the tights (exposing Knox's 3/4 of her backside). After the match, Tegan tied up Dakota in the ropes & used the strap on Kai's bare backside til officials separated them.)
2. Singles Match. Scott Hall won by count out over 'Ravishing' Ric Rude. Toe-to-toe match most of the way until Rude realized Hall was too much tonight & took the 10-count out.
3. 4 Man Tag Team Match. Greg 'Hammer' Valentine & Ken Patera w/mgr. James J. Dillon pulled out an unpopular victory over Wahoo McDaniel & 'Outlaw' Ron Bass. Bass had Valentine pinned. The referee ordered McDaniel out of the ring as Patera came in with an elbow drop on the back of Bass's head. Greg covered for the victory.
Pay-Per-View
We begin the Pay-Per-View with the announcing team of Jim Ross & Les Thatcher who run down the card while ring announcer Christy Hemme enters the ring. Charly Caruso is ringside to get any remarks from the wrestlers after the match.
1. 10 Team, 20 Man Battle Royal! $25,000 Purse! Russia Roulette Rules! The last man standing splits the purse with his tag team partner. Winners: 'Dirty' Dick Slater Ace' & Bob Orton Jr. both eliminated 'Grizzly' Smith to win! (16:44). Other participants included Mr. Wrestling 1 & 2, the Von Brauners, the Interns, the Infernos, the Kentuckians, the Sheepherders, Billy Robinson & Karl Gotch, Cam-Am Express (Dan Kroffat & Doug Furnas) and Ken Lucas & Dick Steinborn. Managers James J. Dillon, 'Gentleman' Saul Weingeroff, Dr. Ken Ramey & Col. JC Dykes were ringside. It appeared there was still bad blood between Weingeroff & Ramey as Caruso gets an ear full from both managers. Dillon joins Slater & Orton Jr. to brag on how great the Dillon Dynasty was tonight.
2. NWA Women's World's Tag Team Title Match. (Champs): Canada's Finest (Natayla Neidhart & Taylor Wilde) defeated (Challs): Beautiful People (Angeline Love & Madison Rayne) w/Velvet Sky. (14:02). Neidhart clinched the sharpshooter on Rayne for the win. Wilde hit a flying planche on Love & Sky outside of the ring, allowing Natayla to lock up Madison for the win. The Beautiful People are arguing on their way back to the dressing room while Caruso interviews the successful women's tag team champions.
3. NWA Women's World's Title Match. (Champ): Gail Kim defeated (Challs): AJ Lee by submission. (10:22). Very competitive match as both women are fast in the ring. AJ kept running her mouth the entire match. Lee got a few breaks then went for the Black Widow on the champ. AJ couldn't wrap her leg around Kim's (who had the key leg stretched out) & secure the hold. Lee got frustrated. Kim hit Lee with Eat Defeat. The challenger beat the 3 count but the champion immediately applied the Christo to AJ. The gutsy challenger finally had to submit. Kim retains her title. Caruso gets a few words from Kim about the match while Lee sits in the ring pouting.
4. NWA World's Junior Heavyweight Elimination Match. Danny Hodge defeated Les Thornton a tilt-a-whirl cross body mat slam. (15:11). Clash of America vs. British wrestling styles. Clean match from start to finish that had the fans applauding. Several near pins by both men during the match. Thornton had Hodge set for a belly to back suplex but Danny reversed into a tilt-a-whirl cross body mat slam to capture the title. Carsuo speaks with Hodge & Thornton who joins them to congratulate Hodge on a good clean match.
5. NWA World's Tag Team Elimination Match. 'Bruiser' Brody & Stan 'Lariat' Hansen beat The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry Gordy & Buddy Roberts) w/Michael Hayes. (12:42). Hansen used Hayes' boot on Gordy for the 1-2-3 to win the inaugural tag team belts. Rough match especially when Brody & Gordy were in the ring together. However, Roberts was the brunt of Brody & Hansen's attack. Michael threw his boot to Gordy to use on Stan but the Texan caught it instead. Hansen used it on Gordy while the referee was getting Hayes off the ring apron. Brody & Hansen are World Tag Team Champions!!! Hayes grabs Caruso & yells the Freebirds were robbed tonight. Michael high tails it when Brody & Hansen setup to to thank the fans & the Prissy Sissy Hayes for throwing his boot into the ring.
6. NWA World's Heavyweight Elimination Match. Bob Backlund defeated Lou Thesz with the the Atomic Spinecrusher. (16:44). Both men shook hands after the match. This was a true scientific match between two greats. However Backlund's muscular prowess was the deciding factor at the end. Bob concentrated on Lou's back to set up the win. Thesz tells Caruso it was one of the toughest matches of his career. Backlund is humbled by Thesz's words & promises to represent the NWA with honor.
7. MUW Women's World's Title Match. (Champ): Asuka beat (Chall): Alexa Bliss with the Asuka Lock. (13:55). Bliss went after Asuka as soon as the bell rang. The match was carried outside of the ring with the challenger going for a quick pin. After a DDT, Bliss hit Asuka with the Twisted Bliss. But when she went to hook the champs leg, Asuka planted her knee into Bliss's face, stunning her. It gave the champ time enough to clamp the Asuka Lock in to get the victory. After the match, Bliss tells Caruso she has nothing to say & struts back to the dressing room. Asuka hugs Caruso & thanks the fans around the world for their support.
8. MUW World's Heavyweight Title Match. (Champ): Samoa Joe defeated Nikita Koloff with the Coquina Clutch. (18:13). Top battle from start to finish. Both men tested the other one's strength to start the match. Koloff attempted several near pins on Joe but the champion was too strong. A brutal Russian Scythe nearly got Nikita the belt but he could not get more than a 2 count. At the end, Joe got the Muscle Buster on Koloff but was too close to the ropes & was forced to break the hold. Joe moved behind a staggering Koloff to lock on the Conquiea Clutch and that was all she wrote. Nikita struggled to get loose but couldn't. Samoa Joe retains the title. Koloff spearks briefly with Caruso complimenting Samoa Joe on being a talented tough opponent. Then Joe comes up to tell Caruso Koloff lived up to his reputation. He is a hell u va tough man. But I enjoy beating tough guys. That is why I am the MUW World's Heavyweight Champion.
With seconds left, Ross & Thatcher talk about how great this show was. The remind the fans to tune in Saturday for NWA Wrestling on ESPN.
