Wednesday Warfare, Episode 10
The camera pans the Andy Kaufman Studios in Dothan, Alabama, highlighting all the cheering fans. It zooms in on the commentary position featuring Bob Caudle and “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert.
BC: We are nearing Kaufmania, which we’ve found out will be two nights of great action. And speaking of great action, today we’ll see Kerry Von Erich, Steve Austin, the Steiner Brothers and, hopefully, a Gulf Coast Title defense by Kurt Angle.
EG: I don’t care what the Vegas odds makers are giving. I wouldn’t put any amount of money on that going down tonight or ever again until the Big Show gets what he wants.

Steiner Brothers (Scott and Rick Steiner) vs. “Iceman” Dean Malenko and MJF
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Once again, Friedman tells Malenko to take the apron and he’ll show him how it’s done. However, when he turns and sees a growling Scott Steiner, MJF turns back around and slaps Malenko’s shoulder. He says, ‘you’re right, I should let you begin.’ Malenko gets in the ring with Scott who overpower him. Crisscross sequence with Malenko getting a leapfrog, but then he turns into a Steinerline. Gorilla press and Scott carries Malenko around the ring. He tosses Dean into his corner. Scott points and yells at MJF if he wants some. Malenko goes up for the tag, but MJF acts like there’s something in his eye and he drops to the floor. Scott shrugs and murders Malenko with a high angle German suplex. Tag to Rick. He hits the belly to belly suplex. Up into the electric chair. Tag to Scott. Steiner Device. MJF goes to the back still acting like there’s something in his eye while Malenko is cold in the ring.
WINNERS: Steiner Brothers by pinfall of Scott on Malenko at 5:03
We then cut to the commentary desk where Kurt Angle is, looking pensive.
BC: We are joined now by the Gulf Coast Champion Kurt Angle. The past two weeks, Big Show has beaten up your intended opponents and demanded a title shot. The first week was Eli Drake and last week was Dick Murdoch. Show said this week would be strike three if you refused to face him. How about it?
As Caudle talked, footage of the previous attacks were shown. We then cut back to Angle.
KA: Big Show thinks he can get what he wants through intimidation and fear. Therefore, I’ve decided to give a title shot to a man who cannot be intimidated and scared by Show. A man who Show knows very well. A man who I gave a title shot to several weeks ago and certainly deserves another try. Tonight, I WILL defend my Gulf Coast Title against…KANE!

Chris Candido with Tammy Lynn Sytch vs. Dynamite Kid with Johnny Smith
Referee: Joey Marella
Kid and Candido grapple and do a few crisscross sequences to start. On the outside, Tammy chats up Smith to distract him. Kid yells at Smith to pay attention to the action and have his back. This allows Candido to get an O’Connor Roll while grabbing the tights. After the match, Kid yells at Smith on the floor. He waves his hands like he’s just done with him and walks off with a sorrowful Johnny trailing.
WINNER: Chris Candido in 3:56
Malenko comes up behind MJF in the back. He spins Friedman around. When he sees who it is, MJF starts acting like he’s got something in his eye again.
MJF: Oh, man, I don’t know what happened, I think it might have been a paint chip off the ceiling or…
DM: Save it! You’ve got to be the worst tag team partner I’ve ever had.
MJF: No! You’re the worst tag team partner I’VE ever had.
DM: Say what you want. But we never tag team again. And if we ever meet in the ring, I hope you took note of what the Steiners did to me tonight when you bailed, because that will happen to you.

Kerry Von Erich vs. “Exotic” Adrian Street
Referee: Aubrey Edwards
Street controls early on, but Von Erich reverses a suplex and comes back. He hits a series of running shoulder blocks off the ropes. Discus punch. Street gets his feet on the ropes. Kerry signals for the claw and Street stumbles into it.
WINNER: Kerry Von Erich by submission at 4:20
Kerry Von Erich goes to the commentary position.
BC: Kerry Von Erich, that was an impressive win we just saw from you.
KVE: I’m going to be honest, Bob, I haven’t had too many of those lately. I’ve been pretty rudderless since coming to CCW. I was grouped with Ultimate Warrior and Sting until they went different ways. Then last month I partnered with Strike Force to go after SCU and the Gulf Coast Six-Man Tag Team Titles. That didn’t turn out the way we hoped, but that’s okay. Kaufmania is coming up and I’m not booked but, I’ll be honest again, I don’t think I deserve to be. However, coming out of Kaufmania a change is coming. Kerry Von Erich is going to be back at the top of the card and in the title picture. After Kaufmania, I’ll be getting my heart and my soul back.

“Stunning” Steve Austin with Tammy Lynn Sytch vs. “Magnificent” Don Muraco
Referee: Joey Marella
Muraco tries to goad Austin into a test of strength, but he kicks Don in the gut. Austin works a headlock, but get shot off into the ropes. He ducks a clothesline and comes back the other way with a Thesz Press and mounted punches. Slingshot suplex with a floatover cover. Muraco presses Austin off. He slugs back. Muraco slams Austin’s head into the top turnbuckle 10 times with the fans counting along. He goes for a running power slam, but Austin drops out the back and shoves him into the ropes. Muraco comes off into the Stun Gun. Kick, wham, stunner.
WINNER: Steve Austin by pinfall in 5:11
As soon as the match is over the camera cuts to the commentary position where we see Nick Aldis giving a slow golf clap. Austin comes over to him, breathing hard from the match, with Tammy trailing behind.
NA: Nice job, Steve, you beat a man who once ate a sandwich in the middle of a match.
SA: At least I won a match. What was the outcome of you and CM Punk on Superstar Saturday?
Austin puts his hand to his ear waiting on the answer.
NA: I lost. Is that what you want to hear Austin and I make no excuses for it. What I’m more concerned about now is that neither one of us is booked for Kaufmania. Why don’t you say we change that? And I’ve got permission from the front office for it to be a number one contender’s match for the Southeastern Heavyweight Title.
SA: Damn, if you haven’t done something right for once. I’ll see you at Kaufmania.

Kurt Angle vs. Kane
Referee: Joey Marella
Kane seems ready for Big Show to jump him on the entrance stage like he has to wrestlers the past two weeks. When it doesn’t happen he walks down to the ring. As he climbs to the ring apron, a meaty hand reaches out from under the ring apron and grabs his trailing foot. He’s pulled off to the floor. Show appears from under the apron with a steel chair. He points at Angle, already in the ring, and screams ‘this is strike three.’ As Kane rises, Show swings the chair like a baseball bat and clobbers Kane in the side. He delivers two more swinging shots. Kane goes down to his knees. Show lifts the chair high over head and smashes it over Kane’s head. He nails him again and again and again. He dents the chair. Finally, Angle screams out over the microphone.
KA: Stop! That’s enough! Fine, you win! Are you happy! Instead of earning a title shot through hard work and perseverance, you’ve won it through fear and intimidation. But the tyranny of evil men never lasts. I will face you for the Gulf Coast Title at Kaufmania and I will win. With that win, you can go and crawl back under the rock you came from.
Show yells, ‘thank you’ from the floor very mockingly. Then he turns and starts going back at Kane with the chair. Angle jumps to the floor and catches Show as he turns, but before he can get the chair up. Kurt starts rocking him with lefts and rights. Bob Caudle says we’re out of time, but tune into Kaufmania to see Angle vs. Show and many more exciting matches.
