Agent VKM is sitting inside of a luxury penthouse suite in a Los Angeles Hotel. A knock is heard on the door. He tells a bodyguard to answer. He opens the door and in walks his team of covert government operatives known as the Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment. Agent VKM tells his that tonight will be the most pivotal moment in Operation #MEGA as defeating the best luchadors in the business will get them the opportunity to take the Trios Championships. It is absolutely crucial that they win this match, otherwise lucha libre will prove to the world that it is superior to sports entertainment. They can’t let that happen. Sports entertainment is the greatest combat sport in history and if they cannot prove that then what kind of sports entertainers are they? If they can’t defeat a collection of puny luchadores than they don’t deserve to be sports entertainers. If they don’t defeat those vanilla midgets then “YOU’RE FIRED!”

Mustafa Ali vs. King Cuerno
Mustafa Ali vs. King Cuerno
These two luchadores damn near tore the house down. They flew all over the ring and the ringside area. King Cuerno executed a falling forward missile dropkick, a slingshot tornado DDT, a springboard clothesline, a diving splash off the turnbuckle, and an Arrow From the Depths of Hell. Mustafa Ali executed a diving crossbody, a missile dropkick, a tilt-a-whirl DDT, a springboard tornado DDT, a moonsault from the second turnbuckle to the outside of the ring, and a Spanish fly. All these moves kept the Believers engaged with the action in this one. Both luchadores also surprised the Believers by making some attempts to win the match via submission. Cuerno tried to get Ali to give up when he applied an inverted Mexican surfboard, a bow-and-arrow hold and the figure four leglock. Conversely, Ali tried to get Cuerno to give up when he applied a single-leg crab, a single-leg grapevine, and the Koji clutch. Each move was attempted but none of them did the trick. In the dying moments of the match, Cuerno tripped up Ali on the top rope. He went up to the top rope and then jockeyed over positioning until it appeared as though Cuerno would execute a DDT off the top rope. However, Ali escaped the impact by doing a handspring. When Cuerno got back up, Ali dropkicked him into the turnbuckles and then took him out of the corner with a northern lights suplex. After that, he hopped onto the top turnbuckle and executed the imploding 450-degree splash. And with that, Ali collected his biggest win in the Temple to date!
WINNER : Mustafa Ali

The Godfather vs. Gran Metalik vs. Mike Awesome vs. Braun Strowman
Six of the Seven Ancient Aztec Medallions had been handed in fatal fourway matches over the past several weeks. This was the final opportunity for luchadores to win a medallion and secure an opportunity to compete in a match for the Gift of the Gods. Gran Metalik’s diminutive stature in this match didn’t bode well for him. With all his opponents standing at least six-and-a-half feet tall and over 300 pounds, he was in for the fight of his life. He needed his speed to strike fast and evade attacks. He did this reasonably well. Whenever he found himself trapped in a corner, he would hop onto the ropes and ropewalk out of harm’s way. Then, he would perform a springboard dropkick, elbow drop, crossbody, or a splash. However, when he was caught, his larger opponents would really get him good, like when Mike Awesome flew over the top rope to the outside to get him with a suicide dive clothesline, and when Braun Strowman ran all the way around the ring and bodychecked him through Antonio Cueto’s office door. There was no getting up after that one.
It was down to one of the big men. The Godfather gave Awesome and Strowman multiple Ho Trains before lifting Awesome up for a Pimp Drop, but a distraction from Beautiful Brenda on the ring apron spared Awesome from suffering that pain. The Godfather tried talking her into joining his Ho Train, which put him in position for a big diving clothesline off the top rope from Mike Awesome. As Awesome set him up for an Awesome Bomb, he received a huge running big boot from Strowman, who then lifted him up for a powerslam. Famous B got in the ring and stood in his way, so Strowman dropped Awesome and grabbed Famous B by his necktie before he could run away. Then, he gave Famous B a powerslam. When Strowman got up, he was met with a cyclone big boot from Dominik Dijakovic, who showed up to defend his agent. This act would cause Akam and Rezar to come out and attack him. The two big men would square off with Dijakovic and Awesome and end up brawling around and away from the ring. Dr. Wagner Jr. snuck into the ring with a chair. He waited for an opportunity to hit Strowman with it, but Truth Martini hit him over the head with the Book of Truth, knocking him out of the ring. After the ring cleared, Strowman and The Godfather were alone in the ring. Strowman leveled him with a stiff clothesline, then picked him up and gave him the powerslam. 1-2-3!
WINNER : Braun Strowman

Prince Puma and Rey Mysterio Jr. are in the Lucha Underground locker room discussing strategy for tonight’s main event trios match when Pentagon DARK passes through. Puma sees him out of the corner of his eye and calls for his attention. He asks him to come over to discuss strategy. Pentagon says that he doesn’t need to talk strategy. He says that he is going into this match with “Cero Miedo!” and a luchador who has “Cero Miedo!” is a luchador who can do anything to his opponents and he won’t get beat. He tells them that although they aren’t friends, he will be their allies for this night and this night only. There need not worry about his intentions because they are simple: he plans to destroy the Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment. This much they can count on from him. All they have to do is work with him and not get in the way, and they will win. Then, he walks on, ready to go to the ring. Mysterio looks at Puma and tells him that they can trust Pentagon to hold up his end of the bargain. Then Puma collects his title, straps it around his waist and they walk out, ready for tonight’s main event.

El Hijo del Fantasma vs. Matanza Cueto
El Hijo del Fantasma vs. Matanza Cueto
This was the first time we saw El Hijo del Fantasma in the Temple this season. Unfortunately for him, it would also be the last time. While waiting for his opponent, Antonio Cueto came out of his office and announced that there had been a change of plans. Fantasma’s scheduled opponent was stuck in traffic near the LAX airport and couldn’t make it in time, so instead Fantasma would get a new opponent – “my son, Matanza Cueto!”
Matanza ran into the ring and just started clobbering Fantasma with his giant meat hooks. He whipped him into the ropes, captured him and through him across the ring with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. When Fantasma tried to get up, Matanza ran over and clotheslined him out to the floor. There, they brawled around the ring. Matanza tried to get Fantasma with a running dropkick as he was seated on a chair, but Fantasma moved and Matanza went crashing into a pile of seats at ringside. Luckily, the Believers were prompted to get out of dodge. Fantasma mounted a short-lived comeback. However, after he sent Matanza back in the ring, he went to the top rope and attempted a splash. He landed on Matanza’s knees. Matanza picked him up and gave him an Athletic-plex, which he followed with the Wrathe of the Gods. After that, the match was over.
After Matanza’s win, Antonio Cueto announced that it was time to make another “sacrifice to the gods!” Matanza put the Gauntlet of the Gods on his right hand, then, he lifted it high into the air and drove it down into Fantasma’s chest. At the moment of impact, the lights in the Temple went out. Moments later, they came back on and Matanza was standing alone in the ring. El Hijo del Fantasma was nowhere to be found.
WINNER : Matanza Cueto

A TRIO OF LUCHADORES vs. THE PINNACLE OF SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT
Prince Puma, Rey Mysterio Jr. & Pentagon DARK vs. Hulk Hogan, Roman Reigns & John Cena
The Believers were hyped up for this main event. Three of the biggest stars of modern lucha libre were set to face off against three of the biggest stars in sports entertainment history. The match started out at a slow pace, which favoured the sports entertainers. This was due largely to Hulk Hogan’s superior power advantage over his adversaries. Hogan and Pentagon started the match for their respective squads. Pentagon was too anxious to get to his striking game, but Hogan wrestled scientifically, something he rarely had to do but chose to do on this occasion so as to try to wear down his fearless opponent. Roman Reigns and John also took their turns keeping Pentagon on the mat with side headlock takedowns. It really sucked the energy out of the Believers, who firmly supported the luchadores.
When Pentagon finally broke free from a Reigns headlock, he took him down with a pair of sling blades before getting tagged by Prince Puma, who entered the ring and used his speed and quick offense to take each of his opponents down. Having cleared the ring all by himself, Prince Puma would run to the far ropes and return to perform a hands-free over-the-top-rope corkscrew moonsault dive that took out out the entire PSE squad. After that, luchadores isolated Reigns from his corner, making quick tags to execute quick burts of double and triple team attacks. They tagged out quickly and frequently, to strike fast and keep a fresh luchador in the ring at all times.
The momentum turned with Pentagon went to the turnbuckle and waited for Reigns to start getting up. He was setting up for a Mexican destroyer, but Reigns stood upright quickly and struck Pentagon with a superman punch as was in mid-air. Reigns made the hot tag to Cena, who came in and Pentagon some jumping shoulder tackles, then a spin-out powerbomb and a Five Knuckle Shuffle. After that, he waited to lift Pentagon onto his shoulders, but as he did, picked him up into a fireman’s carry, Prince Puma executed a springboard diving European uppercut. This led to Hogan, Reigns and Mysterio entering the ring. A brawl broke out over the next two minutes, leading the combatants to take their battles out to the floor. Prince Puma returned to the ring after knocking Hogan down with a trifecta of superkicks. He spotted Cena and Pentagon exchanging blows on the outside, so he ran over to get Cena with a hands-free over-the-top-rope corkscrew moonsault dive. However, Reigns pulled Cena out of the way and Puma landed on Pentagon!
When Puma got up, he looked down at Pentagon and grabbed both sides of his head in an expression of surprised frustration. It was that brief loss of concentration by the Lucha Underground Champion that allowed Reigns to take him down hard to the floor with a spear. Meanwhile, Cena collected Pentagon and sent him into the ring. Before he could climb into the ring, Mysterio attacked him with a springboard seated senton. Then, Reigns picked up Mysterio and gave him a Samoan drop on the floor. Back in the ring, as Pentagon tried to get up, Hogan raked his back, scooped him up into a bodyslam and executed a perfect running leg drop. 1-2-3!
The Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment earned the win, and with it the opportunity to challenge the Super Friends for the Lucha Underground Trios Championships in next week’s main event.
WINNERS : The Pinnacle of Sports Entertainment

At the end of the night, Antonio Cueto flips off the master switch to all the lights in the now empty Temple before opening the door and exiting into the back alley. He locks the door and then walks across the back alley to a black limousine with tinted windows. He gets in. There, he is greeted by Los Angeles City Councilman Delgado, who asks for a status report on ‘project omnipotence’ as he pours him a glass of tequila. Antonio tells him that it is going according to plan. Matanza has dominated his three opponents and sacrificed them to the gods with great ease. Delgado has heard of these sacrifices from the dark lord himself and says that the gods are pleased. They have great confidence in Matanza. Antonio says that they should, and if there is any doubt, he tells Delgado to tell the dark lord to pay close attention to what Matanza does at Aztec Warfare. He promises Delgado that, at Aztec Warfare, there will be more sacrifices to the gods than even they could ever imagine. They clink their tequila glasses together and drink to that.
