AEW Dynamite
March 4, 2020
Live from Seattle, WA
AEW Dynamite comes to you live from Seatlle, Washington! The camera pans around the arena to show thousands of excited AEW fans, ready for a night full of action! We see multiple signs in the arena including “AND STILL” and “FIRE TESSA!” As the ballyhoo continues, we are sent off to our trust commentators, Don Callis and Kevin Kelly.
The commentators begin discussing the big fallout of AEW Revolution including the debut of Triple H to confront Jay White, as well as Daniel Bryan retaining his championship against Drew McIntyre, and the Pope’s big win against Goldberg. After hyping several matches for the evening, we’re sent to the ring for our opening contest...until…
Don Callis: Whoa, what the hell is this? Aleister Black?!
Kevin Kelly: The Messenger for the former AEW World Champion, Aleister Black! This cannot be good.
Black strolls down the ramp, ignoring the jeers from the crowd and remaining stone-faced. He climbs up the stairs and enters the ring before being handed a mic. As his music dies down, Black stands in the center of the ring as the fans wait in anticipation.
“I’m sure you’ll all surprised, and perhaps scared, to see me. That’s fine. I don’t work for you, I work for Him. The Tollman has sent me with a very important message which I must deliver to you all. He has sent me with a warning. He says that judgment day is upon us and, even though he is not allowed to leave the walls which confine him, he has arranged for a mass exodus of the entire All Elite Wrestling roster. He says the people of AEW must be warned if they want a chance of survival, but chances of such survival are nominal. Kross---”
Kevin Kelly: OH MY GOD! BRODY KING! BRODY KING IS BACK, AND HE’S BEATING THE HELL OUT OF ALEISTER BLACK!
Don Callis: LISTEN TO THIS CROWD, KEVIN! KING IS BACK, DESPITE THE ATTEMPTED MURDER OF KROSS, AND HE’S BEATING THE HELL OUT OF HIS MESSENGER!
The 6’7” former member of the Kross Kult reigns down punches on the temple of Aleister Black as the crowd goes wild! Aleister’s mouth is busted open as he quickly rolls out of the ring to escape the wrath of Brody King! King challenges Aleister back into the ring, but Aleister shakes his head and begins to head up the ramp. King rallies the crowd as the announcers are stunned in disbelief! What a way to kick things off here on Dynamite!
Match 1
v.
The AEW Hardcore Champion Abyss def. Tim Storm via the Black Hole Slam at 4:51. Tim Storm fearlessly attempted to overcome the Monster, but was unable to do so as Abyss threw Storm around the ring and made it look easy. After the match, Abyss continued his assault on Storm with a steel chair to prove his dominance.
Drew McIntyre is backstage walking, pissed off that he lost his AEW title match to Daniel Bryan. McIntyre looks like he’s walking with purpose…
When suddenly he’s confronted by “The National Treasure” Nick Aldis. Aldis says he wants to talk to McIntyre about a few things and quietly mentions something about Arn Anderson. As the camera begins to pull away, McIntyre seems intrigued by what Aldis is saying before we cut to commercial break.

We come back to Dynamite to find AEW Women’s Champion Tessa Blanchard standing in the ring. She says she has literally defeated every single woman on the AEW roster and that there are no challenges left. She demands that the fans deem her the greatest women’s champion of all time. The fans boo wildly as Tessa rolls her eyes, until a rock tune begins playing on the PA System.
RUBY RIOTT IS ALL ELITE! Ruby Riott is here! She begins to make her way down the ramp as the fans cheer. Tessa looks annoyed, but invites Ruby into the ring anyway, feeling untouchable.
“So Tessa, you’ve beaten everyone in AEW? Well sweetie, I hate to break it to you, but I’m now part of this roster. And you haven’t. Beat. ME.”
Tessa smirks, and calls Riott unworthy. This prompts Ruby to take her microphone and bash it into the skull of Tessa, who drops to the mat! Tessa’s out! The fans cheer as Ruby grabs the AEW Women’s Title, and holds it high above her head before dropping it onto the carcass of Blanchard, making her intentions known!
Match 2
v.
In a stellar match up, Hiroshi Tanahashi def. Brian Cage at 10:29 via the Frog Splash. Brian Cage was able to overpower Tanahashi for the majority of the match. This was the case until Tanahashi began using his ring generalship over Cage, outwitting him and preventing Cage from building momentum to finish the match. Tanahashi ended up grounding Cage with a big reverse hurricanrana before hitting the top rope for the big frog splash to end the contest.

Match 3

In a fun match, big Ace Romero def. Aron Stevens at 4:41 via the POUNCE! Aron Stevens was scared to enter the ring for the majority of the match. However, once he did, Romero squashed him with a senton before he could stand to his feet. This led to Romero bringing Stevens to a vertical base, and pouncing him damn near out of his boots for the victory.
The National Champion, “The Pope” Elijah Burke, is gloating backstage about his big win against Goldberg at the Revolution pay-per-view. Burke says that he’s the man now! He says that Goldberg is waaaaaay past his prime, and has run off to test the waters in another company because he’s so embarrassed! Burke says he feels good. He says that next week, he’s holding an open challenge for the National Title. He says he’ll fight man, woman, or child and he doesn’t care who it is!

In an epic battle of the finalists in the tag team title tournament, the Guerillas of Destiny defeated Equal Nation Devastation when Tama Tonga hit the Stun Gun on Big E for the victory at 15:30. This match was an epic clash of two of the most elite teams in AEW. There was lots of back and forth action, stiff exchanges, and interference from Xavier Woods which caused him to be ejected from ringside. When Tama clenched the victory for his team, the crowd went crazy as GoD celebrated in the middle of the ring with their newly won AEW World Tag Team Championships.

TIME TO PLAY THE GAME
Triple H hits the Dynamite stage as the fans become unglued! He looks to be in a pleasant mood tonight as he poses for the AEW fans in the arena. He makes his way to the ring as the announcers enthusiastically recap Triple H’s AEW debut at the Revolution pay-per-view. The announcers speculate that Jay White may have bitten off more than he could chew by complaining about the alleged conspiracy against him in AEW.
“So this is All...Elite...Wrestling! This is the mecca for professional wrestlers! You know, people have been asking me why I’d join AEW after having made my name in other organizations. The answer is simple. THIS is the place to be if you want to rip the chains off and kick some ass!”
The fans pop at Triple H’s endorsement of AEW. He continues speaking.
“So when I got the call from Tony Khan, we talked and he made me an offer I couldn’t refuse, so here we are! I was backstage at Revolution to finalize my contract and suddenly I looked on the monitor and I saw this ‘man’ in the ring, talking about theories and hypotheses and I just got sick to my stomach. So I grabbed the pen, signed my name on the dotted line, and immediately hit that stage and shut his ass up!”
The fans cheer again as Triple H smirks and holds his finger up.
“Hold on a second, though. Let me say this. I have busted my ass for years! I have won countless championships, I have been to the top of the mountain, back down, all the way around only to climb the damn thing all over again! Blood, sweat, and tears! Countless hours and millions of miles around the damn globe! And then, there’s Jay White.”
The fans boo at the mention of White, as Triple H raises his eyebrows, sarcastically acting surprised by the negative reaction.
“Jay White, this little boy who thinks somebody owes him something. Jay White, this punk who wants people to bow at his feet. Jay White, who clearly thinks his shit don’t stink! Well, Jay White, it seems to be you’re a little wet behind the ears. It seems to me that you’ve got some lessons to learn. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT YOU NEED YOUR ASS KICKED!”
The fans go crazy as Triple H continues cutting his promo, getting the crowd invested in this developing rivalry.
“So, Jay White, I didn’t come here to talk all night, no no.”
Triple H begins rolling his sleeves up slowly as the fans chant his name. Triple H’s relaxed facial expressions turns to one of intensity.
“I CAME HERE TO FIGHT! That’s what AEW is all about! You grab your flag and you stick it in the damn ground, you CLAIM your territory, you don’t bitch about missed opportunities! YOU MAKE THEM! So Jay White, I’m going to make an example out of you!”
As the fans cheer, Triple H stops mid sleeve roll and holds his finger up again.
“Oh, but...I forgot. That’s right, Jay White isn’t even in the building tonight!”
*BOOOOOOOOO!*
“Jay White is too embarrassed that I handed him his ass on a silver platter at Revolution. So here’s what we’ll do. Jay White, I want a fight..THESE PEOPLE WANT THE FIGHT! So I’m calling your ass out, NEXT WEEK! Get ready, because I expect an answer from you..unless you don’t have the balls, little boy!”
And with that, Triple H’s theme kicks back up as he throws the mic down. He gets on the turnbuckle and poses for the crowd as they cheer for him. The announcers break down the segment and hype a possible answer from the Switchblade next week.

Match 5 - Non Title
v.
In a shocking turn of events, “The National Treasure” Nick Aldis defeated AEW World Champion Daniel Bryan at 16:43. The match itself was excellent with a mixture of technical wrestling, striking, and ground and pound displayed by both competitors. The finish of the match saw Daniel Bryan lock Aldis in the Yes Lock…
until DREW MCINTYRE ran out to the ringside area! Drew hopped up on the ring apron to distract the referee. Meanwhile, Aldis was able to hit a low blow on Bryan and then get the roll up, with a handful of tights, for the victory. The crowd was absolutely shocked as the beloved Daniel Bryan took a loss to Aldis. Despite Aldis’ impressive win-loss record in AEW, nobody thought that he would pull off this victory. And certainly, nobody thought that Drew McIntyre of all people would come out to help Aldis secure the win.
The last image of AEW Dynamite was not Drew, but The National Treasure holding up Bryan’s AEW World Championship as Drew McIntyre stood by his side. Despite this being a non-title contest, it seemed that Aldis was making his intentions known to pursue the title having just defeated Daniel Bryan. Nobody in the arena knew what to think as McIntyre was unsuccessful in challenging Bryan just several days prior at the pay-per-view. The announcers continued to speculate as to this interference having something to do with Aldis pulling McIntyre aside earlier in the evening.
So many questions linger...tune in next week for (hopefully) some answers!
