AEW Revolution
Live from the Wintrust Center, Chicago, IL
February 29th, 2020
After an impressive display of pyrotechnics, the cameras begin panning around the arena in Chicagi as the raucous AEW fans hold up various signs such as “ALDIS SUCKS” and “BRYAN IS MY HERO!” The fans are ready for an incredible night of action here at AEW Revolution, and they can’t wait for the first match to get started! But first, we head to our dynamic duo, Kevin Kelly and Don Callis.
Kevin Kelly: WELCOME to AEW Revolution! I’m Kevin Kelly, he’s Don Callis, and Don I think it’s safe to say that this could be the biggest night in AEW history!
Don Callis: Kevin, this show is going to have it all! We’ve got a big world title main event featuring Daniel Bryan defending against Drew McIntyre! If you have an appetite for destruction, the Hardcore Championship match will certainly satisfy you! If you want to see a technical classic, our opening contest of Scurll versus Aldis in a rematch from Dynamite will certainly hit the spot!
Kevin Kelly: In a night for the ages, we are going to see a little bit of everything here tonight! But that’s enough from us, Don. Let’s kick this show off!
Exhibition Match
v.
In a rematch from Dynamite, “The National Treasure” Nick Aldis def. Marty Scurll via the King’s Cloverleaf at 12:09. This match was a great opening contest to get the crowd going. Marty Scurll hit all of his usual spots, including the finger break spot and an attempt at the Chickenwing, but Aldis was able to counter and drop Scurll to the mat before swiftly locking him into the King’s Cloverleaf. This left Scurll no choice but to tap, much to the dismay of the crowd.
“Tonight, I finally have the opportunity to claim what is mine, the AEW World Championship. As I said on Dynamite, I respect Daniel Bryan for what he’s done in this business, but let’s face it. Daniel Bryan has sold himself out to pander to you people in the crowd, and watching at home. This isn’t about making fans happy. This isn’t about catchphrases. This is about fighting - this is war, Daniel Bryan. You’ve become soft. AEW needs someone to lead them into the future with an iron fist, not some squishy mascot who hasn’t seen a razor in years. Bryan, the clock is ticking. Your title reign….will come to an end...TONIGHT.”
AEW Women’s Championship
v.
After months of a brewing rivalry, Tessa Blanchard proved her dominance as the AEW Women’s Champion by retaining her title against Dakota Kai at 12:53 via the Hammerlock DDT. The crowd was solely behind Kai the entire match, while making their hate for Blanchard known. It looked as if Kai was closing in on the Women’s Title after a vicious double foot stomp from the top rope, but Blanchard was able to get her own foot on the rope to break the count. The Hammerlock DDT connected after Kai was in the middle of a comeback, abruptly ending the match much to the disdain of the audience.

In a fun tag team match, Moose and Big E defeated the Jurassic Express via the Big Ending at 8:21. Despite a lot of high octane offense from the Jurassic Express, the angry tandem of Big E and Moose were able to shut down Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus with their incomparable power offense. The crowd was solely behind Jurassic Express the entire match, perhaps a testament to the unique charisma this team brings to the table.
Exhibition Match

After an impressive display of athleticism and endurance from both competitors, Kota Ibushi defeated Rich Swann at 12:26 via the Golden Star Powerbomb. Ibushi seemed to have control of the majority of the match. Swann’s comebacks were impressive using a multitude of kicks, strikes, and diving moves against Ibushi. Despite this high octane offense, Ibushi was able to overcome Swann. After the match, both men shook hands and received a standing ovation from the capacity crowd.
In an official update on the health of PCO and Brody King, All Elite Wrestling has learned that the former Kross Kult members are recovering well from their attack by Killer Kross. While there has been no official timetable announced for their official returns, they are expected to make a full recovery after Kross attempted to commit homicide against them several months back.
AEW Hardcore Championship

In a match that could only be described as insane, “The Monster” Abyss pinned Joey Ryan at 15:42 to become the inaugural AEW Hardcore Champion. This match had it all. From steel chairs to thumbtacks, this was perhaps the most violent match in AEW history. We saw crazy spots including Brian Cage chucking the steel chairs at the head of Benoit, Joey Ryan powerslammed into a pile of Blowpops (holy sh*t!) and Benoit crashing and burning during an attempt to hit his patented diving headbutt on Abyss through a table. The conclusion of the match came when Cage and Benoit were occupied on the outside of the ring, giving Abyss the opportunity to use his weapon of mass destruction, Janice (a 2 by 4 laden with nails) to bust open and incapacitate Joey Ryan for the big win.
"Oh, so it's answers you want? You want to know exactly WHAT the conspiracy is? Fine. I'll tell you. I'll tell you all, in that ring, tonight! Now leave me alone!"

In a shocking outcome, “The Pope” Elijah Burke DEFEATED Goldberg via a small package at 6:34. The crowd couldn’t believe that Burke was able to overcome Goldberg. Goldberg attempted both a Spear and Jackhammer, both escaped by the Pope. Although Goldberg was able to get in several moves such as a military press slam and a devastating thrust kick, Burke surprisingly held his own (amidst multiple stalling tactics like rolling out of the ring and sitting between the ropes.) After Burke got the roll up victory, he quickly rolled out of the ring, grabbed his title, and ran away leaving the legendary Goldberg in the ring, disappointed and pissed off.
“Switchblade” Jay White begins to make his entrance as fans begin to boo. This is the first live appearance White has made in AEW in several weeks after claiming there’s been a conspiracy against him. He strolls down the ramp with a bitter facial expression. Upon reaching the ring, he grabs a mic and soaks in the boos before beginning to speak.
“You know it just as well as I do - there is a CONSPIRACY here in All Elite Wrestling! I went from getting screwed out of the World Title to not even being booked on Dynamite! I’ve spent weeks analyzing the information, decoding the discrepancies, I’ve been running the numbers!”
Don Callis: What is this guy talking about? Jesus, get him out of here….
“I’ve made the observations! I formed the question! I’ve developed my hypothesis! And based off of that hypothesis, I damn sure have reached my prediction and tested that prediction for weeks! You wanna know what it is? DO YOU?!”
The fans boo as White begins snarling in the ring. He begins pacing back and forth, brushing his hair back and twitching.
“The prediction has already come true...I predicted that this company would fuck me over! I predicted you fans would shit all over the work I do in this ring, my artistic canvas! And it’s all come to be. It’s come true! You think I enjoy coming out here and listening to this b.s. from you ingrates? It seems to me that---”
TIME TO PLAY THE GAME
Kevin Kelly: OH...MY...GOD!
Don Callis: IS IT REALLY HIM?!
TRIPLE H HAS ARRIVED IN ALL ELITE WRESTLING! The fans begin going absolutely CRAZY (crazier than Jay White) AS TRIPLE H MAKES A BEELINE FOR THE RING! Jay White looks like he’s seen a ghost as Triple H enters the ring!
“HOLY SH*T! HOLY SH*T! HOLY SH*T!”
Jay White and Triple H stand face to face! Jay White begins yelling at Triple H for interrupting him, when suddenly…
PEDIGREE! THE FIRST EVER PEDIGREE HAS BEEN DELIVERED IN AEW! The fans are going insane as Triple H stands over a fallen Jay White! Triple H leans down and grabs the microphone out of White’s lifeless hand.
“I bet you didn’t see that coming, did you? Jay White - game on, bitch.”
And with that, Triple H throws the mic down as he poses in the corner for the audience! Nobody expected Triple H to show up tonight at Revolution, but he did! And it seems that he’s made the conspiracy nut, Jay White, his first target!
AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Semi-Finals
v.
In a great back and forth match, the Guerillas of Destiny defeated the team of Jake and Dave Crist (collectively known as oVe) when Tama Tonga hit the stun gun on Dave Crist for the win at 11:04. There were several moments in this match it looked like the Crist’s were going to pull off the win, with Sami Callihan coming down to assist them at one point before being ejected by the ref. Despite their questionable efforts, oVe was outshined by the duo of Loa and Tonga in a great showing.
We see AEW World Champion, Daniel Bryan, walking backstage. An interviewer attempts to get a word from Bryan, but Bryan declines as he has his sights focused on his big upcoming title defense. We roll to a video package hyping the match, before heading to the ring.

As both men stand across the ring from each other, the fans are going wild as Daniel Bryan hands his championship to the referee. At the sound of the bell, both men begin circling the ring. Arn Anderson is standing on the outside of the ring, cheering on his new protege. As both men lock up, it’s McIntyre with the early advantage by shoving Bryan hard into the corner! Bryan collapses to the mat as the referee begins to check on him for a possible head or neck injury. McIntyre smirks as the referee demands he stay back. As the ref begins to check on Bryan, McIntyre moves back in and begins stomping at the head and neck of Daniel Bryan! The relentless assault causes the audience to begin booing McIntyre viciously. For the next several minutes, McIntyre continues to target the head and neck of Daniel Bryan with a flurry of attacks including strikes and a rolling snapmare, leading into a grounded side headlock. Fans begin chanting “ASSHOLE!” as McIntyre laughs and berates the crowd. This is the point where Bryan finally begins to make his comeback! He gets to a vertical base and begins using his elbow to draw the air out of McIntyre’s diaphragm. Multiple blows to the gut and McIntyre releases his grip. Bryan quickly creates some distance…
And begins with a barrage of running clotheslines to McIntyre! The fans begin to come alive as Bryan attempts to mount his big comeback. This doesn’t last long…
As McIntyre grabs Bryan by the hair and sends him to the outside. After a few moments, Arn begins shouting at McIntyre to capitalize. He quickly rolls out of the ring, grabs a weary Bryan…
AND TOSSES HIM WITH EASE INTO THE RING POST! The fans are pissed and begin booing McIntyre once again, as Arn Anderson stands by nodding with intent. McIntyre sends Bryan back into the ring for a near fall. McIntyre brings Bryan back up, and despite several forearms from Bryan, McIntyre’s strength is just too much as he nails a kick to the gut and follows it up with a beautiful snap suplex. As Bryan begins to stand again…
McIntyre follows up with a devastating big boot, only for a near fall. McIntyre begins to argue with the referee before going back on the attack. Several minutes elapse in this contest with McIntyre continuing his powerful offense. As McIntyre is about to attempt another move, he runs at Bryan..
WHO HITS A HUGE ROUNDHOUSE KICK! Both men are down on the mat and the referee begins his ten count.
BOTH MEN KIP UP AT THE SAME TIME! The crowd is going wild as McIntyre and Bryan begin to throw a flurry of punches at each other, as the crowd begins chanting “FIGHT FOREVER!” From this point on, both men continued to trade offensive maneuvers including a Future Shock DDT from McIntyre, which rendered a count of 2.9 from the referee. McIntyre was also able to escape the Yes Lock from Bryan. Towards the conclusion of the match….
MCINTYRE HITS A HUGE CLAYMORE KICK!
1…..
2…………
2.9……………..
KICK OUT! The fans rally strongly behind Bryan as McIntyre falls to the mat lifelessly. The people in attendance can’t believe that, despite the head trauma Bryan has suffered in this match, that he is still going. Angry, McIntyre lifts Bryan and backs up into the corner...he charges for ANOTHER CLAYMORE…
HE’S CAUGHT! MCINTYRE IS CAUGHT IN THE YES LOCK! HE SCREAMS FOR HELP!
ARN ANDERSON GETS ON THE RING APRON AND BEGINS TO DISTRACT THE REF! Bryan quickly breaks the Yes Lock, runs over to Anderson, and knocks him off the apron! Bryan turns around to continue his attack, but MCINTYRE’S UP!
Bryan doesn’t give a damn! RUNNING KNEE STRIKE! The ref is on spot and he counts….
1!
2!
MCINTYRE KICKS OUT!
BRYAN GOES STRAIGHT INTO THE YES LOCK! The crowd is chanting wildly as Bryan holds onto the Yes Lock for dear life! McIntyre tries reaching for the ropes….
BUT HE CAN’T! MCINTYRE TAPS OUT! Daniel Bryan retains the AEW World Championship at 27:05!
Bryan holds his championship high, having defended it successfully yet again! Another amazing AEW pay-per-view comes to an end with Daniel Bryan celebrating in the ring as he continues to prove himself as a fighting champion.
Kevin Kelly: Ladies and gentlemen, what a night it has been here at Revolution! We’ve seen so much great action tonight, so make sure to tune into Dynamite on Wednesday where the action will continue! For Don Callis, I’m Kevin Kelly - GOODNIGHT!
