Antonio Cueto is meeting with Eddie Guerrero in his office. He is pleased to finally meet the great Latino Heat for the very first time. After dispensing with the niceties, they get down to business. Guerrero tells Antonio that Pentagon DARK attacked him in the alley behind the Temple and blames him for starting the chain of events that led to his kidnapping. For this reason, Guerrero wants to have a match against Pentagon DARK tonight. He wants to do what is necessary to make Pentagon feel the pain that he felt. He wants to make Pentagon pay for taking so much time off his career. Antonio loves it when people are out for revenge, but he says that Pentagon DARK will not be here tonight, so he can’t make that happen. However, he has an interesting proposition for him. He wants to put him in the main event in a match where the winner will get a prize that is better than all the championships in the world. It is a prize that will give him unlimited power. All he has to do is beat his son, Matanza Cueto! Guerrero says he doesn’t fear Matanza. In fact, he says that he would have defeated Matanza for the Lucha Underground Championship had he got in the ring with him. Tonight, he wants to make good on that promise, so he has a deal.

Magnum T.A. vs. Dragon Rojo
Magnum T.A. vs. Dragon Rojo
Magnum T.A. defeated Dragon Rojo by pinfall to win tonight’s opening contest. It was a short match that lasted a little over 5-minutes. Dragon Rojo hit a couple of big spots, but Magnum T.A.’s size and power advantage carried the day. T.A. swung the moment in his favour when he executed a big superplex from the top rope. It wasn’t long after that he executes the belly-to-belly suplex to win the match.
Following the match, King Cuerno came out and attacked Magnum T.A. from behind by whipping him repeatedly with a leather strap. He whipped him until Magnum T.A. was able to scramble out of the ring to safety, at which point he fired off an Arrow Straight from the Depths of Hell, running back-and-forth on the ropes until he build up enough momentum to shoot through the ropes with incredible speed and knock Magnum T.A. down. Content with his work, he walked over to the timekeeper’s position and took the microphone from Melissa Santos. Cuerno said that he warned T.A. to stay out of his business. Because he didn’t, Cuerno lost the biggest prize he had hunted in a long time. For that reason, T.A. has become the hunted and he plans on collected his trophy hunt in a Hunter’s Leather Strap Match at Ultima Lucha Tres.

Antonio Cueto is sitting in his office, looking over the card for Ultima Lucha Tres and noticing that there remain a few more blank spots to fill-in to make it every bit the two-day lucha libre extravanganza as his son Dario’s previous Ultima Lucha events. Fortunately for him, the lights flicker on and off and Catrina appears to protest the unjust results of last week’s Lucha Underground Championship match that saw Mil Muertes lose to “Macho King” Randy Savage. She says that Mil Muertes should be the champion now. Mil Muertes is filled with more rage than ever before and it is all directed towards Roman Reigns. She says that Mil Muertes wants Roman Reigns to experience a thousand deaths, which is why she’s here to request a Grave Consequences match at Ultima Lucha Tres. Antonio loves this idea and says he’s adding it to the card right now. The lights flicker on and off and Catrina is gone, quicker than Antonio could eliminate one of the blank spaces on his match card for Ultima Lucha Tres.

MATCH FOR ONE OF THE SEVEN ANCIENT AZTEC MEDALLIONS
Dragon Lee vs. Johnny Mundo
Johnny Mundo defeated Dragon Lee by pinfall to earn one of the seven ancient Aztec medallions. In doing so, he became the fifth luchador to qualify for the Gift of the Gods match at Ultima Lucha Tres. This match went 15-minutes, and it never really seemed to let up. Both luchadores were in a back-and-forth battle that really could have gone either way. There were many pinfall attempts that registered long 2-counts in the final minutes of the match. Mundo executed moonlight drive but Lee kicked out. Lee executed a fisherman buster but Mundo kicked out. Mundo executed a springboard roundhouse kick but Lee kicked out. Lee executed a bucklebomb followed by a tilt-a-whirl spiked headscissors but Mundo kicked out. Mundo executed a reverse-rana off the top rope but Lee miraculously kicked out. Lee executed Desnucadora (vertical suplex powerbomb) but Mundo miraculously kicked out. In the end, Dragon Lee attempted a 450-degree splash, but he landed on Mundos knees. Then, Mundo nailed him with a running knee smash just after he sat up. Next, he dragged him into the corner and executed Starship Pain to finally get the win.

Ultimate Warrior enters Antonio Cueto’s office, where Cueto informs him that he needs his assistance. He tells him that tonight his son, Matanza Cueto, will be returning to lucha in the main event against Eddie Guerrero. It is extremely important to him that Matanza wins this match. He has every reason to believe that Matanza can do this on his own, but it is good to have an insurance policy in the unlikely scenario that things don’t go quite according to plan. He wants the Ultimate Warrior to stand by in the shadows to keep a watchful eye on the action and to intervene if necessary. Then, he informs him that he intends to reward him with a very lucrative prize for his great services. Antonio opens a desk drawer. He pulls out a velvet pouch and throws it across his desk, landing in front of the Ultimate Warrior, who then opens it to reveal one of the Seven Ancient Aztec Medallions. The Warrior asks him what this is and he tells him that it is his ticket to getting the Gift of the Gods.

MATCH FOR ONE OF THE SEVEN ANCIENT AZTEC MEDALLIONS
Will Ospreay vs. PJ Black
Will Ospreay defeated PJ Black by pinfall to earn one of the seven ancient Aztec medallions. In doing so, he became the sixth luchador to qualify for the Gift of the Gods match at Ultima Lucha Tres. This was a solid contest featuring two very athletic individuals. They grappled and made a lot of reversals and counter maneuvers against one another throughout the contest. Each luchador spent a lot of time using his feet as weapons. They were also flying around the ring with great frequency. Black executed a fireman’s carry into a neckbreaker across his knee and pinned Ospreay for the win, but the Aerial Assassin kicked out. After that Black went to the top rope, but got tripped up when Ospreay lunged into the ropes. After that, Ospreay executes a Cheeky Nandos Kick and then a frankensteiner, which he followed up with a running 540-degree corkscrew senton bomb to secure the win.

Antonio Cueto is sitting in his office for a meeting with Rey Mysterio Jr. Cueto asks Mysterio what he can do for him. Mysterio says that we’re only two weeks away from Ultima Lucha Tres and he doesn’t have a match yet. He tells Cueto that it feels a little bit strange not to be chasing or defending a title, or to be involved in a big grudge match. So he was wondering how he could get on the show and he came to realize that the Trios Champions don’t yet have a challenger for their titles. Also, recognizing that they have been champions all season long, he thought that perhaps what the Super Friends needs is a challenge from a trio of Super Legends. Antonio likes the sound of that and asks him who will be his partners. Mysterio says he doesn’t have any yet, but just give him one week and he’ll find some other legendary luchadores to join him in his trio. Cueto agrees to give him one week to put together his team. If he does, then his team will get the match.
As Mysterio leaves, Johnny Mundo barges in and asks Antonio Cueto to give the Worldwide Undeground a shot at the Trios Championships at Ultima Lucha Tres. Cueto says that he can’t do that because he’s already given to another team, and besides Mundo is in the Gift of the Gods match and Taya is fighting for the Mash-Up Wrestling Women’s World Championship. They’re already competing for championships! Mundo says he knows that, but his pal PJ Black doesn’t have a match, and two championships are better than one. Cueto says he can be in the Trios Championship match only if he is defending the Trios titles, so next week the Worlwide Underground will challenge the Super Friends for the titles. Mundo accepts that deal.

Eddie Guerrero vs. Matanza Cueto
Eddie Guerrero vs. Matanza Cueto
Vickie Guerrero took over ring announcing duties, excusing herself as she took the microphone from Melissa Santos. She announced the arrival of her husband, Eddie Guerrero, to the ring. Re-united after Latino Heat’s kidnapping and confinement, the couple appeared happy for a moment, that is, until Antonio Cueto entered the Temple and announced the return of his son, Matanza Cueto. This match, which was supposed to take place 25 episodes earlier in the season was finally taking place.
It was an intense battle that saw many nearfalls for each luchador. Eddie relied and his quickness and his technical acumen, the latter skill which was matched by Matanza, who also held the power advantage. Matanza was surprisingly agile and athletic for a luchador of his size, as he showed at times when he executed a running cannonball in the corner and a standing moonsault followed by a standing shooting star press onto Eddie after giving him a release German suplex. Whenever Matanza would use his power to do damage, he would try to pin Eddie. Examples of this were when he pinned Eddie after executing triple rolling gutwrench suplexes, a very delayed vertical suplex, a sit-out powerbomb and an athletic-plex. However, Eddie kicked out of each pinfall attempt.
Eddie’s dogged determination not to give up prompted Antonio Cueto to spontaneously announce that the rules of the match had been changed to “ANYTHING GOES”. The idea, it would seem, was to allow Matanza to brutalize his opponent, but the rule change played in Eddie’s favour as he loved to cheat. Now, his sneaky underhanded attempts to break the rules were totally legal and he could do them out in the open without repercussions. Consequently, Eddie used kendo sticks on Matanza. He used steel chairs to swing at Matanza, and as props, dropkicking one into Matanza’s face, laying one across his chest and performing a slingshot senton bomb onto it. He also brough a ladder into play, striking Matanza with it and whipping him into it from one corner of the ring to the other. It was when Eddie attempted to finish Matanza with a frog splash that his momentum was halted. As he leapt off the top rope, Matanza rolled off the ladder and Eddie landed on it.
Matanza took over, using the ladder against Eddie, giving him an athletic-plex and a fallaway slam onto it. He brought a table into the ring, propped it up in the corner and performed a running cannonball into Eddie that destroyed the table. Miraculously, Eddie continued to kick out of each pinfall attempt that followed. This caused Matanza to set up a stack of tables outside the ring, below the house band platform above the floor entrance. Matanza and Eddie proceeded to brawl around the Temple, eventually finding their way over to the band platform. Eddie regained control by smashing a pair of symbols around Matanza’s head, driving a large block microphone into his abdomen and then across the back of his head, and then by choking him out with the microphone cord.
It was at this time that Eddie appeared to be eyeing up the tables below to try to figure out what he would do, when the Ultimate Warrior cut through the crowd and attacked Eddie. He clobbered him with clubbing blows before lifting him up and giving him a gorilla press drop onto the stack of tables. He landed but didn’t go through. Moments later, after Ultimate Warrior walked away, Matanza would perform his own frog splash onto Eddie through the tables! After a long pause, Matanza got up, brought Eddie back to the ring and gave him the Wrath of the Gods! 1-2-3!
Matanza Cueto defeated Eddie Guerrero by pinfall. In doing so, he received a special gift. With Ultimate Warrior looking on from the floor entrance of the Temple, Antonio gave Matanza the Gauntlet of the Gods. He put it on his right hand and appeared more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Ultimate Warrior looked pissed, but he didn’t do anything. He turned and walked away, pushing a cameraman over out of frustration.
