"FATAL SOLUTION"
DALLAS, TEXAS
The IWL International champion Buddy Murphy posed a challenge to the bookers of PPW: find him a challenger that is worthy of competing for his title. Tonight, that challenge has been accepted and we will see a Fatal Four-Way match in the main event to decide a #1 contender for the IWL International title. Buddy Murphy can be seen in attendance tonight, sitting in the crowd wearing a dark suit and with his belt strapped around his waist as we open the show. Other matches taking place tonight include challenge matches between Pete Dunne and Jushin Liger, as well as Sara Del Rey and Manami Toyota. The seeds for these matches were planted at "Sin City Showdown", as these competitors look to decide who are the better wrestlers and hope to move into title contention. We will also see another grudge match take place in the opener, which stems from a match that recently took place in Japan, as Hana Kimura and Hazuki come over from Infinite Spirit Pro Wrestling, PPW's partner promotion in the IWL, to take on Dakota Kai and Toni Storm. These two teams met at ISPW's recent return show, and after Kai and Storm picked up the win, Hazuki and Kimura attacked them and drew their blood, vowing to put them in body bags. These two teams will face again tonight, and we will see if more blood is spilled here in Texas. The main question, however, is who will walk out tonight with a shot at Buddy Murphy, as we see the veteran Austin Aries battling the exciting up and coming lucha sensation Bandido, the red hot undefeated Shane Strickland, and the crafty mat wizard Zack Sabre Jr. Any man could win this match and be a worthy challenger to Murphy's crown, but who will have what it takes to survive the "Fatal Solution" tonight in Dallas!?
Let's head to the ring and find out!
Dakota Kai and Toni Storm vs. Hana Kimura and Hazuki
Kai and Storm showed a lot of emotion in this contest that was absent between these two teams in the last outing, and that actually seemed to work in the favor of Kimura and Hazuki. The match would spill out of the ring, and Kimura and Hazuki would deliver a Spike Piledriver to Kai on the outside. Back in the ring, Storm would find herself rolled up by Hazuki, who had the tights and was able to steal the three count!
Winners by Pinfall: Hana Kimura and Hazuki
The fans booed loudly as Kimura and Hazuki tried to continue their assault, with Hazuki grabbing a chair only to have Storm kick it into her face and send them running off, obviously pissed off about the way everything has transpired and she looks ready to rip them apart as they retreat up the ramp.
Before the next match, Tyler Breeze would cut a promo on Eddie Edwards, calling him a dirty disgrace to the ring that he wishes he didn't have to look at, let alone wrestle! He says it's fitting for Edwards to be here in Texas, with these unwashed masses, but he doesn't know why he must belittle himself to compete in front of these disgusting fans! Breeze is getting nice heat when Edwards comes in through the crowd and behind him in the ring, and hits him with a trashcan over the head before the bell!
"Die Hard" Eddie Edwards vs. "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze
These two have a fun brawl of a match, and it was highly entertaining! The match spilled to the outside, and Edwards would hold Breeze's arms back and let the fans in the front row take turns chopping "Prince Pretty" on the chest, causing him the scream out! Back in the ring, Edwards would get a little overzealous, bringing a chair into the ring, only to have Breeze deliver a Beauty Shot, effectively delivering a Van Daminator, and it was enough to keep Edwards down for the three, with "Die Hard" kicking out right after the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Tyler Breeze
Edwards can't believe it, holding his head in hands in disbelief as the fans booed the arrogant Breeze! Edwards would get on the microphone and challenge Breeze to a best of three falls match at the next event, saying if he thinks he's so great, why not see if he can beat him again! Breeze looks a little nervous, but says he is most definitely better than a piece of trash like Edwards, and he'll have no problem sweeping him in two falls to none! Edwards smiles as Breeze doesn't look so confident in his boast back peddling up the ramp.
Britt Baker vs. Nikki Cross
Britt Baker has had a pretty good early run here in PPW, but her tricks and arrogance weren't enough to take down the damn near psychotic and hard hitting Nikki Cross tonight. Cross would work over the neck of Baker throughout, and would deliver The Purge later in the match to put Baker down before locking on the Double Cross (Rings of Saturn) for the submission victory.
Winner by Submission: Nikki Cross
Alex Shelley and Paul London vs. Chris Hero and Oney Lorcan
Hero and Lorcan are looking good as a team, but success hasn't really followed. Shelley and London were just phenomenal tonight, with both men having extensive experience in tag team wrestling and working together like a well oiled machine. Hero and Lorcan were able to use tandem offense and heel tactics to put a hurting on Shelley and London, but this Texas crowd were behind their home state wrestler in London and he would manage to pick up the win after Shelley and London delivered the Get Well Soon (Reverse STO/Enzuigiri) to Lorcan for the three count!
Winners by Pinfall: Alex Shelley & Paul London
Cheerleader Melissa vs. "The HBIC" Mia Yim
Cheerleader Melissa came out very confident and boasting, but Yim was a lady on a mission and looked ferocious tonight. Melissa would try to hold her down early, but Yim wasn't having it, escaping the early holds and lighting up Melissa with strikes all over the ring. Yim would take things to the outside and send Melissa off the steps, the railing, over the announcer's table, and into the turnpost hard. Melissa would try to beg for mercy, only to rake the eys of Yim to get some momentum back. Melissa would attack the knee of Yim and lock her into a Sharpshooter, but Yim would get to the ropes. Yim would manage to make a comeback, hitting a Pele Kick, followed by a Yakuza Kick in the corner, and then a corner Cannonball! Yim would lift up Melissa and deliver a nasty Package Piledriver, putting her down for the three count.
Winner by Pinfall: Mia Yim
Yim takes the microphone and says that "Sin City Showdown" was one of the hardest losses of her career. She says she is angry and driven, and she cannot allow what happened there to happen again. She says Mayu Iwatani has earned her respect, but it's not going to save her. Yim says Mayu has beaten her once one-on-one, and then survived a triple threat match, but Yim says the next time she gets a shot... and there will be a next time... she is putting her down for good, and taking that belt home.
Drew Gulak vs. Jay Lethal
Jay Lethal had the crowd solidly behind him to start, but by the end of this match, the fans were just on their feet cheering on an absolute classic mat wrestling match. These two men went back and forth in the ring, and kept it there. Neither man took it to the outside, as Gulak was able to get into Lethal's head and get him to try and beat him at his game, and Lethal damn near did just that on a few occasions, nearly pinning Gulak down and trapping him in some tough submission situations. Gulak was able to counter the Lethal Injection directly into his Gu-Lock submission, though, and was able to get the win tonight, but by a very narrow margin. The fans gave these guys a great ovation at the end of the match for a job well done and for putting on a wrestling clinic.
Winner by Submission: Drew Gulak
Bea Priestley vs. Ember Moon
Bea Priestley is coming off a tough loss to Mayu Iwatani in a three way classic of a match at "Sin City Showdown", but between that match and the brutal contest she had with Mia Yim at "Sonic Boom", she looked like she might be a little off here. Either that or Ember Moon was just on fire, as usual, which could have easily been the case, as Moon just seems to be on the rise in a big way and nobody seems to have an answer for her right now. Moon would go on to hit the Eclipse in this match and put on a nice display for these fans in a short match, getting the pinfall victory.
Winner by Pinfall: Ember Moon
Jushin "Thunder" Liger vs. "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne
These fans were super behind Liger at the onset, which seemed to incense the always moody "Bruiserweight". Dunne would attack Liger before the bell and brutalize him for the first five minutes of this match, stretching him and attacking his fingers and ribs mercilessly on the mat, trying to take not just the fight out of Liger, but the life out of this crowd. Dunne would lock his legs around Liger and try to put him out, but "Thunder" would motion to the crowd, and they would begin stomping and clapping, getting behind him as he escaped the head scissors and started mounting some offense. Liger would send Dunne out of the ring with a Rolling Kick, and deliver a dive to the outside, but this just lead to more punishment for the Japanese superstar, as Dunne would manage to regain control and hit the X Plex on the apron, as well as a Tiger Driver on the floor. Furthermore, Dunne would slide Liger into the ring, only to pull him back out and deliver a DDT off the apron onto the floor! Things did not look good for Liger as Dunne send him into the ring and was looking to hit the Bitter End, but Liger would escape and Crash Thunder Buster for a two count! Liger would put Dunne up on the top rope and deliver a Palm Strike, followed by a Frankensteiner, but still just a two count! Dunne would regain some control with a European Uppercut and try to force Liger into submission with a Kimura Lock, but Liger managed to break free. Liger would hit a striking combination and deliver the Liger Bomb, but Dunne would kick out at two! Dunne would manage to regain control after dodging an attack in the corner and hit a Tombstone Piledriver, followed by his own Liger Bomb, getting big boos from the crowd, but Liger kicked out! Dunne would try for the Bitter End again, but Liger would elbow his way out and hit a Palm Strike. Liger would run off the ropes, but Dunne catches him with a big Running Forearm, followed by a Tiger Suplex for a two count! Dunne has an idea and heads up to the top turnbuckle, but Liger runs and dropkicks his legs out, crotching him on the top turnbuckle! Liger then blasts Dunne with another Palm Strike and heads to the top rope... SUPER BRAINBUSTER! Dunne has been crushed and Liger floats over, banging his head emphatically as the crowd and the referee count to three!
Winner by Pinfall: Jushin Liger
Manami Toyota vs. Sara Del Rey
The fans were pretty gassed after that last match, and needed some recovery time before the big main event, so this match served some of that purpose. This was pretty much a ten minute bathroom break, which with these two women, could have been an amazing match, but they knew what they were there for and made the best of it. This was as simple as Del Rey really working over the leg of Toyota most of the match, yelling at her and showing her no respect, and it really was entertaining the way they did it, they just didn't do a long form match and kept it very low on the highspots. This was old school, with Toyota taking a lot of punishment, only to rally and deliver some big moves on Del Rey in the end, hitting her with three Missile Dropkicks in a row and then delivering a Leg Trap Sunset Flip Bomb for a two count. Del Rey would catch her with a boot in the corner flying in, and hit a big Sit-Out Piledriver, causing Toyota to fly off the mat in a masterful showing selling, but Toyota somehow bridged out of the pin attempt at 2.999. Del Rey would look to lock on her LeBell Lock, but Toyota would escape and hit a Moonsault off the top to a standing Del Rey for a two count. Toyota would then do her spinning Leg Hook Cradle all around the ring, disorienting Del Rey, allowing her to transition into the Japanese Ocean Suplex, bridging and holding for the three count! The fans would give her a pretty decent ovation in the end, as they filed back in and were ready for the main event.
Winner by Pinfall: Manami Toyota
#1 Contender to the IWL International Title
Austin Aries vs. Bandido vs. Shane "Swerve" Strickland vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
This match had all of the chaos you could have wanted for this match, and the fans were super ready for this one. Sabre would try to periodically attempt his submissions, put it was clear after the early minutes he was going to need to use his striking prowess if he had a chance to win this, and his use of the Penalty Kick throughout was devastating, as well as other kicks and strikes. Austin Aries was very crafty and racked up the most near falls, as he tried to be an opportunist throughout, seeing his opponents injured and picking his spots to try to take advantage to earn him that shot he thinks he so rightfully deserves. Bandido and Strickland really put on a high risk showing here, and were so damn innovative, if you weren't a fan of either man before this match, you certainly were after, and the exchanges they had with each other were fantastic, athletic, and breath taking. Strickland has a clean victory of Bandido in both men's debuts here in the company, but it was Bandido tonight who would manage to serve up "Swerve" his first loss in the company and redeem that loss. Sabre would kick Aries to the outside with a High Kick off the apron. "Swerve" would manage to fly in with a Springboard and catch Sabre with a Canadian Destroyer variation. Strickland would head up top, thinking Swerve Stomp, but Bandido would rush up and hit a Springboard Avalanche Frankensteiner on Strickland, sending him crashing down onto Sabre! Bandido would then lift up a stumbling Strickland into an Acordian Rack and then bring him down into a Go 2 Sleep variation, sending Strickland groggy and nearly knocked out, bouncing into the ropes. With Strickland holding himself up on the middle rope, Bandido runs and flips over him, bouncing his legs off the top rope and flipping backwards, delivering his AMAZING 21 Plex, bridging as this crowd, with many Latinos in attendance, goes absolutely nuts as Bandido gets the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Bandido
The crowd is going crazy, chanting "BANDIDO! BANDIDO" as he gets his hand raised. Buddy Murphy, who was in the crowd as noted earlier in the show, makes his way from around the guardrail and gets into the ring. Buddy and Bandido are standing face to face, as Murphy unlatches the belt from around his waist and raises it, talking smack to Bandido, who points to the belt and then mimes a belt around his waist as the show comes to a close.
