WWE NEWS & NOTES (July 11 Edition)
1. WWE is announcing that tomorrow's episode of Monday Night RAW will feature Harlem Heat and the Dudley Boyz teaming up to take on the Billion Dollar Corporation in an 8-man tag team match. Rey Misterio Jr. will be in singles action against Miro in his WWE debut. The final Money in the Bank qualifiers will take place, and a huge main event is announced. The WWE Universal, Intercontinental and United States Champions will teamed up to face their Money in the Bank challengers in 6-man tag team competition when Roman Reigns, Ricky Steamboat and WALTER take on Rowdy Roddy Piper, AJ Styles and Keith Lee. You are not going to want to miss it!
2. WWE recently released Adam Page and Angel Garza. Both men asked for and received their immediate releases. Creative had nothing for them. It is thought that both men will become big stars one day, but with an influx of new talent entering WWE this summer, they were squeezed out an already deep talent pool. Page hadn't been seen on TV in ages and Garza's only recent appearance was a loss to the debuting "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Both men are betting they can get on and find more success elsewhere.
3. WWE is returning to large outdoor stadium shows when it will hold Summerslam at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco, California. Summerslam is expected to run four hours, but there are rumblings from within the company that it might run longer than that. Hopefully, that won't be the case.
4. Bret Hart has been absent from TV since losing his WWE Universal Championship title match to Roman Reigns at Hell in a Cell. Sources say that he is healthy and he was granted time off to recharge his batteries. He is expected back after Money in the Bank. There are rumours that he and his brother-in-law, Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, will team more regularly as the Hart Foundation in he months ahead.
5. Bray Wyatt isn't expected back on TV or the house show circuit until October at the earliest as he continues to rehab an a back injury. Rumour has it that tweaks to his character may be in the works with the departure of his Wyatt Family members Luke Harper and Erick Rowan.
6. Dates for upcoming WWE events (dates in bold are televised events):

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter's Dave Meltzer, PWX 4 has another huge match on the card that just had the contract signed today.
"You know, uh, you know they don't have to, like, actually tell us what it is, uh, so, uh, they are just going to play this close to the vest. They've already sold out, uh, uh, the, uh, Staples Center on the strength of Lesnar/Shamrock and, uh, you know, Page/Orton. That's a done deal. So, uh, they can just have a surprise here, which is fascinating, because from what I've, um, what I've been told, this actually could be the, uh, well, it could be the Match of the Night."
And there you have it. Word is going around there is a major surprise match coming at "PWX 4: Lesnar vs. Shamrock" in Los Angeles on July 24th, and it looks to be a big one.
In other PWX news, the New Mexico Athletic Commission has heard Kurt Angle's case to have the result of his match at PWX 3 with Chris Benoit overturned due to lack of rule enforcement by referee Earl Hebner. We should have answers on this matter by the time PWX 4 airs on July 24th, so don't miss it!

WWE BREAKING NEWS
Last night at a WWE Live! event in Trois-Rivière, Québec, Ricky Steamboat was injured when he fell off the top turnbuckle during the main event tag team match featuring Steamboat teaming with Daniel Bryan versus Ted DiBiase and John Bradshaw Layfield. Sources have confirmed he suffered a broken leg, putting him out of action for the next 4-6 weeks. If Steamboat is cleared to return in time for Clash of the Champions in October, it is believed that he'll have his Intercontinental Championship Title rematch then. In the meantime, WWE.com is advertising a fatal fourway on RAW tomorrow night to determine who will challenge Eddie Guerrero for the IC strap at Extreme Rules. The match will feature AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan, Kevin Owens and Brian Cage.

WWE NEWS & NOTES (SEPTEMBER 28 EDITION)
- At last night's RAW in Baltimore, MD, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan introduced Triple H as his first managerial client. Triple H had been fired by Vince McMahon in a storyline that took place earlier in the summer. His return to the active roster was explained by Heenan, who said that his managerial license allowed him to sign and manage talent that was not under contract to the WWE. Triple H returned at Extreme Rules, attacking AJ Styles. Heenan had Triple H attack Styles to prove a point to the rest of the locker room - don't get on the wrong side of The Heenan Family.
- Mike Rotunda has joined WWE. He made his debut at Extreme Rules. Last night, he was introduced to the WWE Universe as the personal accountant of the Billion Dollar Corporation. Going by the name of Irwin R. Schyster, a former tax collector for the Internal Revenue Agency, he claimed that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's persona as a blue-collar brawler was a façade, accusing him of being a wealthy man who hides his riches in off-shore tax havens. He claimed to have proof that Austin's name was in the Pandora Papers next to those of King Abdullah II of Jordan, President Uhuru Kenyatta of Kenya, former UK Prime Minster Tony Blair, Columbia pop star Shakira, and English piano virtuoso Elton John!
- Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns appeared on Miz TV to cut a scathing promo on Randy Orton. The third generation superstar made his surprise WWE debut the night before at Extreme Rules by giving Reigns a RKO from outta nowhere after he lost to Sting in that night's main event. Randy Orton would interrupt and tell them that he knew exactly what he was doing, saying that he targeted the Head of the Table to make a statement - that the yard no longer belongs to Big Dog; it now belongs to the Apex Predator.
- Vince McMahon was on hand to make a few major announcements about the future of the company. The Chairman of the Board announced that WWE Smackdown is returning to FOX on Friday, October 29. What's more, there will be a brand-split with separate and distinct rosters competing on each brand. Superstars will be drafted to the RAW and Smackdown rosters the week after Clash of the Champions.
- In addition to this major announcement, Mr. McMahon revealed that each show will have its own set of champions. SMACKDOWN will have the WWE Universal and WWE United States Championships. A new WWE World Champion will be crown at Clash of the Champions, and this championship along with the WWE Intercontinental Championship will belong to RAW. Both brands will also have their own womens champions and tag team champions. The plan is for the current WWE Tag Team Championships to be assigned to RAW and be renamed the WWE RAW Tag Team Championship. WWE SMACKDOWN Tag Team Championships will be awarded at Clash of the Champions and the team that wins those titles will automatically be assigned to the Smackdown roster. Likewise, the current WWE Women's Championship assigned to SMACKDOWN and renamed the WWE SMACKDOWN Women's Championship, with a WWE RAW Women's Championship being awarded at Clash of the Champions.
- WWE has also scrapped its plans for a cruiserweight division. It was decided that there wasn't enough talent to have two cruiserweight divisions, and that the division would not be viable as its own entity. Consequently, the Cruiserweight Championship, which was awarded to Rey Misterio Jr. only a month ago at Summerslam will be decommission. As a consolation to Misterio, the Biggest Little Man in sports entertainment will get the opportunity to become a champion again when he competes for the WWE United States Championship versus WALTER at Clash of the Champions.
- While three new championships will be awarded at Clash of the Champions, we don't yet know who will be competing for these titles. Following yesterday's episode of RAW, all that is clear is that Sting will defend the WWE Universal Champion against "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, WALTER will defend the WWE United States Championship against Rey Misterio Jr., and the renamed WWE SMACKDOWN Women's Championship will be defended by Rhea Ripley versus her challenger, "The Man" Becky Lynch.
- Jim Cornette has left WWE. Rumour has it that he became tired of traveling across the entire country and was unhappy with his creative. Sources within the company said that he was looking for an opportunity closer to his home in Kentucky. He asked Vince McMahon for his release and it was granted.
- Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, the World's Greatest Tag Team have also left WWE. Their contracts had expired and they were not renewed. It seems as though Cornette's decision to leave made the duo expendable. Creative had nothing for them. There was some thought that they might move into the Heenan Family, but sources tell me that was never a serious consideration.
- The end of Cornette's World's Best stable has left Miro in a bed without a paddle, so to speak. At Extreme Rules, Miro gave his former manager a send off by putting him in the Game Over submission hold. The company is said to have a lot of faith in Miro. However, he may not appear on TV in the near future as they need time to decide what to do with the Best Man going forward.
- WWE has revised its schedule due to the return of Smackdown and the idea of two separate and distinct brands operating. A few dates were cancelled and some shows were shuffled around and rescheduled. Below is a list of the revised touring schedule following Clash of the Champions on October 24.

WWE NEWS & NOTES (OCTOBER 5th EDITION)
- Last night on Monday Night RAW from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, Ricky Steamboat received a warm reception for his return from injury. After a quick win over Elias, Steamboat announced his intention to exercise the rematch clause in his contract to challenge Eddie Guerrero for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Clash of Champions on October 24.
- Speaking of Latino Heat, he was announced as the guest on the Piper's Pit, but he never did appear on the interview segment. Instead, Rowdy Roddy Piper's interview segment was interrupted by Bray Wyatt, appearing in his latest segment of the Firefly Funhouse. Wyatt implored Piper to let him in. Piper, defiant as ever, eviscerated Wyatt on the mic, leading to the lights going out and The Fiend making its first appearance in a WWE ring since it debuted at Summerslam. Piper and The Fiend brawled in and out of the ring. The segment ended with Piper getting put through the announce table with a ura-nage slam. Although not yet made official, expect Rowdy Roddy Piper versus The Fiend to get added to Clash of the Champions as one of the rare non-title bouts on the card.
- John Cena was victorious over "Cowboy" James Storm and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin defeated "Glorious" Bobby Roode in singles matches. Cena was interviewed by Mean Gene Okerlund later in the evening, with Austin passing by after his match. Cena offered to form an alliance against the Billion Dollar Corporation with the Texas Rattlesnake. Austin spurned the offer. There was tension at the end of the scene, but nothing came of it as the BDC swarmed the two superstars. The Dudley Boys and even WWE Universal Champion Sting eventually got involved in the ruckus. Sting is scheduled to defend his championship against "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase at Clash of the Champions.
- Harlem Heat successfully defended their WWE Tag Team Championships against the thrown together team of Pete Dunne and "The Bastard" PAC. There is no word yet on whether Dunne and PAC will team together again, however the generally feeling is that they did well together as a team. After the match, The Bar showed up to challenge the Harlem Heat to a title match at Clash of the Champions.
- At this time, matches officially announced for Clash of the Champions on October 24 from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA, are:
CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS
WWE Universal Championship Match Sting {c} vs. "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase
WWE Smackdown Women's Championship Match Rhea Ripley {c} vs. Becky Lynch
WWE Raw Tag Team Championships Match Harlem Heat {c} vs. The Bar
WWE Intercontinental Championship Match Ricky Steamboat vs. Eddie Guerrero {c}
WWE United States Championship Match Rey Misterio Jr. vs. WALTER {c}

An open question for everyone from the NWA. Does it concern you when your Big Event or PPV is held on the same date as another promotions. Several dates of mine have fallen on the same date as Slade's event reccently so I moved the time from evening to afternoon to avoid any conflict. However with the AWA added, do you think we need to list ahead of time the dates for our big events so that everyone is not running on the same day? I'm curious what you guys think about it.

Doesn't bother me at all. With so many Sundays in a month and so many companies, there is bound to be overlap. Also, not everybody posts on time. I've sometimes posted a big month end ppv early on a Saturday or late on a Monday. The only real issue is not booking the MUW champions for the same show on the same date, because I get the notion of realism that you can't have two people in the same place at the same time. I try to read everybody's stuff and comment and that can be daunting if a bunch of shows post at once, but then you have off days to catch up.

My sentiments echo those of Leo. My only concern is not booking the traveling World Champions on the same date - and that's why those threads exist to lay claim to booking them on particular dates.

WWE NEWS & NOTES (OCTOBER 12th EDITION)
- WWE hired some new broadcasting personalities in preparation for the brand split at the end of the month. New hires include Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Don Callis, Renee Young, and Justin Roberts. It is believed that the plan is for the SMACKDOWN broadcast team to be composed of Michael Cole, Graves, and Saxton as its commentary team, with Mean Gene Okerlund as its backstage reporter/interviewer and Howard Finkel as its ring announcer; and the RAW broadcast team to be composed of Mauro Ranallo, Tony Schiavone, and Callis, with Young as its backstage reporter/interviewed and Roberts as its ring announcer.
- This week, The Hart Foundation defeated FTR, in a rematch from Summerslam, and The Miz and John Morrison were victorious over the Lucha Bros. With their wins, The Hart Foundation will meet The Miz and John Morrison in the ring at Clash of the Champions in a match where the winning team will become the first WWE SMackdown Tag Team Champions.
- Roman Reigns defeated Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton defeated Brian Cage in singles action, setting them up for a match at Clash of the Champions. However, whether the match takes place was immediately throw into question when Reigns attacked Orton after his match, putting him through the barricade with a spear and then sitting down on him and nailed him with repeated forearm shots to the sides of his head. Orton was taken out of the arena on a stretcher.
- Rowdy Roddy Piper challenged Bray Wyatt to a match. Wyatt wanted to befriend Piper instead. Piper attacked Wyatt and did a number on him but Wyatt laughed as he took his abuse, not fighting back. He wanted Piper to do to him with The Fiend had done to Piper the week before. Piper stopped when that became clear and told Wyatt that he doesn't want to murder Wyatt. He wants to murder The Fiend. He told Wyatt to tell The Fiend to meet him in the ring at Clash of the Champions.
Winner Get a Shot at the MUW Men's World Championship at Survivor Series Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns
WWE Smackdown Women's Championship Match Rhea Ripley {c} vs. Becky Lynch

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match Ricky Steamboat vs. Eddie Guerrero {c}

The scene: two guys sitting at a kitchen table.
G: It's official. The territorial rights have reverted back to me. We're back in business, and this time, we won't be swallowed up by Vince and his monopoly. In fact, we'll be better than ever! And that's why you're here - to help me steer this ship and be the most exciting promotion in the world.
H: Well, I'm honored you thought of me, and you can count on me to help get you there. And the minority interest in the promotion doesn't hurt, either.
G: It's simple - the more successful the promotion is, the better we do in the end.
H: So let's get to the elephant in the room then. I don't mind being onscreen once in a while as your authority figure, but less is more - it's worn out these days.
G: Agreed.
H: But I also need complete control of the book. And that means you, too. That's one of the reasons things went south last time - you stayed on top too often, too long, and you wouldn't change with the times. Hey, it's a lesson I learned as well. This is your promotion, and you can give me all of the ideas and advice you have, and chances are, most times I'm gonna agree with you. But at the end of the day, if we're going to move forward as a promotion and attract the best wrestlers and the biggest gates and the most viewers... the buck stops here. With me.
G: I wouldn't have brought you in otherwise. You've earned my respect, and trust... so, shall we get to work?
Verne Gagne extended his hand to Stu Hart, and the two icons formalized the agreement with a firm handshake. A few moments later, Hart said, "Let's get to work. First of all, I have a couple of ideas about you..."

WWE NEWS & NOTES (OCTOBER 19th EDITION)
- Last night on RAW, Bray Wyatt appeared on the Firefly Funhouse and delivered a message to all the little fireflies out in the WWE Universe: He, referring to Wyatt's alter ego The Fiend, has accepted Rowdy Roddy Piper's challenge. He will be at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA, on October 24 to face The Fiend.
- The unexpected rise of Johnny Gargano in the WWE World Championship tournament brought him all the way to the semi-finals. Unfortunately, the Cinderella story ended there when he was defeated by Triple H, with the help of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and FTR. After the match, Triple H, Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler hugged in the ring and Heenan revealed that Harwood and Wheeler were the newest members of the Heenan Family.
- AJ Styles defeated Kevin Owens in the other World Championship tournament semi-finals. Later, FTR crashed a backstage interview where they told Styles that there was no way he would defeat Triple H to become the inaugural WWE World Champion at Clash of the Champions. The plan to intimidate the Phenomenal One did not appear to work. After FTR walked away, Styles revealed to Mean Gene Okerlund that he has a plan to make sure the Heenan Family doesn't steal the title from him.
- The finals to crown the inaugural WWE Raw Women's Champion will also go down at Clash of the Champions this upcoming weekend. Bianca Belair defeated Mickie James and Bayley defeated Ember Moon in semi-finals contests on RAW last night. Now, Belair and Bayley are set to face off for the championship.
- The card is set and it is a big one. There are eight title matches, plus a match to determine who will face the MUW Men's World Champion at Survivor Series. In addition, Piper and The Fiend are set to clash, and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will finally get his hands on Irwin R. Schyster in the CotC pre-show. The official 11-match card for Clash of the Champions on October 24 from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, PA, features:
CLASH OF THE CHAMPIONS
