Live Attendance: 7 513
The show starts with Bret “The Hitman” Hart coming to the ring and declaring that he wants a shot at the International Heavyweight Championship at Rocky Mountain Warfare because the event will be held in Calgary and his hometown fans deserve to see him finally get the rematch that he’s entitled to from when he used to hold the title. Kurt Angle comes out and means him no disrespect, but wants it to be well understood that he deserves another match because Ric Flair cheated to beat him at Spring Slaughter 2016. Next, Cesaro comes out to plead his case for a match by beating Big Ryck. Dario Cueto shows up and shoots Cesaro down, saying that he doesn’t have the $100 000, so he gets no shot. Cesaro says it isn’t his fault that Big Ryck already spent his money. Cueto doesn’t care and says that if he has a problem with that, he can join his friends in reDRagon to take it up with Big Ryck & The Crew in a 6-man tag team match, later tonight. As for Bret Hart and Kurt Angle, Cueto decides that they should have a match later tonight to decide who will face Ric Flair at Rocky Mountain Warfare!
First Match: The Brain Busters defeated Matt Sydal and Petey Williams by pinfall when Arn Anderson covered Williams after he and Tully Blanchard gave Williams a spike piledriver.
Second Match: Women’s #1 contender Sexy Star defeated Velvet Sky by pinfall after executing a diving hurricanrana on her.
Third Match: Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Tyler Breeze by pinfall after giving him the 6-1-9 and the West Coast Pop.
Sensational Sherri, Samoa Joe and Batista barge into Dario Cueto’s office to complain how Kurt Angle is getting another chance to face Ric Flair for the International Championship, while Joe and Batista were also cheated out of winning the title against him and get nothing. Cueto tells them to do something to impressive him and maybe he’ll reconsider whether either of Sherri’s men are deserving of a chance.
Fourth Match: Cesaro, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly defeated Big Ryck, Castro Cortez and Mr. Cisco after Fish and O’Reilly gave Cortez their double-team finisher, Chasing the Dragon as Cesaro incapacitated Big Ryck outside of the ring.
Fifth Match: Gail Kim defeated Bayley by pinfall after giving her Eat Defeat.
After the match, Kim complains that she was not booked in a match at Spring Slaughter 2016. Kim claims that the company unfairly denied the city of Toronto the opportunity to see what it paid top dollar for, which was to see the city’s finest wrestler – Gail Kim – teach some chump a lesson about wrestling. Then, Trish Stratus makes her surprise return! She comes to the ring and tells Kim that Toronto only missed out on seeing the city’s finest wrestler because she wasn’t on the show. An argument ensues about who is the better wrestler and which one of them would have won a match against the other in front of their hometown crowd. Stratus challenges Kim to a match next week to decide who is better. Kim turns her down and leaves. When Stratus is celebrating, Kim returns to the ring and attacks her, finishing off her assault with an Eat Defeat!
Sixth Match: This fantasy wrestling dream match between Bret “The Hitman” Hart and Kurt Angle ended in a no contest after about 10-minutes of excellent chain wrestling. The match ends as a no contest when Samoa Joe and Batista interrupt the proceedings with an attack on both superstars that ended with Joe putting Hart through the French announce team’s table with a Muscle Buster and Batista putting Angle through the English announce team’s table with a Batista Bomb!
