Not gonna lie. I'm stoked to see this promotion pop up over here. BIG fan of the blended roster you've brought on board, too. I'm a bit of a mark for some of the juniors you've got on tap - Noble, Nunzio, and Kendrick specifically.
I'm a pretty faithful follower of the AAW indie out in Illinois, too. So when I see names like Elgin and Cole working here, it brings a smile to my face. Truly tremendous to see some of that lesser-known talent get a little love & appreciation on the "big stage" of fight-fiction right here.
Any chance of ya bringing Milwaukee's finest, Silas Young, in for this one? I'm just saying! =D
Flex Force? Nice. A new version of the Varsity Club? Sweet. Jake? D-Bry? Nigel? Brody? Vader? Christ on a cracker, man - you've got a loaded lineup. Real eager to see where ya take this project.

This was a great double PPV to kick start your promotion. There are some excellent matches sprinkled throughout two very solid cards. I feel as though the audience in San Francisco got the better end of the deal with a double main event featuring Vader vs. Mark Henry and Daniel Bryan vs. Nigel McGuinness.
As these shows were full of first round tournament matches, I felt that the outcomes were extremely predictable. That's not a bad thing, just an observation. I'm looking forward to the next stages when the competition becomes tighter and it becomes more difficult to predict winners. The only match I was unsure of was Vader vs. Henry and the only upset I see here was Drew McIntyre over Jake Roberts.
I'm curious to know why the AWA Heavyweight Championship tournament started with only 14 men. Is that a someone I've forgotten about who picked up a first round bye? Does the winner of one of the matches skip the quarter-finals and go straight into the semies?
I look forward to the next PPV.

Thanks for the feedback, Slade. Yes, you correctly noted the 14 guys - I mention over on my AWA thread that the 15th man in the Heavyweight tourny, Harley Race, got a first-round bye. (And yes, that bye was random.) In fact, ALL of the matchups were, and are going to be, random. My son picked them all. I pick the winners in each tournament, he picks the matchups.
I'll start with the second-round matchups, as well as the Intercontinental matchups, very soon.

I'm just getting my bearings back after attending this show (takes me longer these days than it used to), and here's my random stream of recollections from the show:
This is the 1st time we've had an "AWA" in Boston since literally the Paul Bowser days. While I know this AWA is more of the MN version, there were still a ton of people wearing the original Boston-themed "AWA" throwback T-Shirts out of civic pride. Always great to see fans dressed up like Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage & Strangler Lewis too. The opening match was incredible with the most "smaht-crowd" going Liger crazy. I missed some of the tag match as I made my rounds through the building, but I heard all the "ooooohs" and "ahhhhhs" in the background, no doubt a product of Generation ME's "gotta see it to believe it" offensive style. Art Barr got huge reactions from the fans, as did the Samoan Strike team, but for some reason (maybe the action thus far spoiled them) some fans were booing & chanting "boring!" during the Gagne/Shamrock match. If people just want to see KO's and fireworks all night long, or boo anytime the match touches the mat for a minute, then they're just shallow bandwagon jumpers.
Badd Company got cheered more than the Rock-n-Roll Express and the biggest pop of the night was reserved for the rare appearance of Great Muta. The main event was incredible, especially with the heat-magnet Varsity Club (with all their Ivy League, New England WASP superiority) pouring it on. It's great to see Williams & Gordy rebound so quickly after their unceremonious exile from BCCW. The former multi-time tag team champions (including Mash-Up Wrestling WWE-version) Gordy & Williams may be the best legit team in the game right now. I also agree the West Coast got a better overall show, but I blame PWG for that. They're just that great. Out here on the East Coast it was more ROH style and I dig that kind of raucous event.
In all seriousness, good first show. Creative and lays a good foundation. Just out of curiosity, how old is your son if you don't mind me askin?

Haha. Leave it to MSD to bust out a fun "front row experience" spin to the feedback. I dig it. Now I'ma probably have to borrow (err, yeah... RIP OFF) the format and use it myself for a future recap or something.
Neat insight as far as the idea of letting your son pick the pairings, with ya then working around said perimeters. I'll keep that in mind. Very cool.

Thanks for the feedback, and be on the lookout for the weekly AWA television programming.
And he's 12. Knows his WWE, and a bit about the other feds.

Welcome to the team, fifthhorseman. I look forward to what you can do in your neck of the woods. Match of the night for me was Bruiser Brody versus the I'm assuming Wrestlemania 22 Hardcore match version of Edge. He's gotta be hardcore to not only last nearly half an hour with Brody but to triumph in the end! Good first show and I look forward to more.
MSD time for a new avatar... now that pot is legal, you're no longer a rebel...
