Johnathan Coachman ~ Hello, ladies and Gentleman! and welcome to UCW High Voltage! Jonathan Coachman here along with Tazz..
Tazz ~ Man, Coach.. what a hell of a show that General Manager Teddy Long has planned for tonight.. and I hear its FULL of surprises.
Jonathan Coachman ~ Well lets take it to the ring where we're set to kick off our FIRST competition of the night!
The cameras focus shifts to the ring where Mr.Kennedy is already in place in the corner awaiting the arrival of his opponent, the "Ayatollah of Rock n Rollah" himself, Y2J Chris Jericho.
The crowd gives a huge pop for Jericho as he makes his way down to the ring with his sights set on Kennedy.. for the past month been back and forth, each man holds a victory over the other and that brings us to tonights match, which Teddy Long hopes will serve as a tie breaker and the final nail in the coffin of this feud.
"Y2J" Chris Jericho vs Mr.Kennedy
As Jericho enters the ring and takes his place in a corner the official is set to call for the starting bell, but not before one last interruption. General Manager Teddy Long burst out onto the stage to a standing ovation from the crowd and he brings us some interesting news as he announces that the winner of the upcoming Jericho/Mr.Kennedy match will earn a spot in the upcoming "King of the Squared Circle" tournament that is set to kick off at the next WARFARE taping. (More info on the event at a later time)
After the announcement Teddy heads to the back and the starting bell sounds off..
We're officially under way in what is expected to be one hell of a match!
This is a very fast paced bout where we see both competitors looking to out perform the other. There are several near falls and reversals which leaves the sold out crowd in awe. Towards the matches midpoint the action slows down a bit but the matches buzz doesn't die down at all, instead it grows! As we see Mr.Kennedy try to humiliate Chris Jericho by ATTEMPTING to lock in the walls of jericho, and well it looks like Ken has got a lot of work to do if he ever wants to master the Walls and ESPECIALLY when it comes to locking it on the innovator of the move himself. Kennedy fails to turn Jericho over to get the hold locked in and finds himself being tossed across the ring as Y2J uses his legs to free himself and we go from Kennedys attempt at locking in the walls of Jericho to CHRIS JERICHO attempting to knock Kennedys lights out with a mic check!
Kennedy delivers an elbow to the ribs of Jericho and manages to manuever himself out of the hold only to land a Mic Check of his own! He hooks the leg but Jericho gets the shoulder up just after the two and Kennedy can't believe it.. With both hands clawing at the side of his head he comes to his knees and begins to argue with the ref that It was a 3 count.. as he comes to his feet he starts to back the official into a corner, totally unaware of Y2J who has slowly used the ropes to come to his feet as well.. Jericho uses the referees distraction as an advantage and delivers a running bull dog to Kennedy! the crowd goes insane as he connects and Kennedy rolls over onto his back..
Jericho looks to his right and then to his left before hitting the ropes on his left, he spring boards himself up onto the second and top rope and connects with a perfect Lion Sault! He hooks the leg and the ref makes the count.. but WAIT! Kennedys leg is on the bottom rope...
1...2...3!
Despite Mr.Kennedys foot being on the bottom, Chris Jericho picks up the win.. and you can almost BANK on this not being the last match between these two.. and what does It mean for the upcoming "King of the Squared Circle" tournament?
Following the match the cameras cut to commercial break and we see our first promo for the UCW's next big PPV event..
"King of the Squared Circle"
Following a brief commercial break we return to live action and the cameras are rolling backstage.
General Manager Teddy Long is all smiles as he stands by with Father Mitchell and the Hardcore Bare Knuckles Champion the Monster Abyss. Teddy tells the duo that tonight the Bare Knuckles Championship will be on the line in a Hardcore Invitational. Father Mitchel lets out a sadistic laugh before letting Teddy know that It wouldn't be a problem for Abyss to defend his title in a Hardcore Invitation Match. He goes on to tell Teddy that Abyss is a fighting champion and that there is no one on the current UCW roster who can hold a candle to him. Mitchell lets out a sinister cackle before telling Long that he can go out and recruit as many "tough guys" as he wants tonight but it won't make a difference, he and Abyss then walk out of the cameras shot and Teddy ends the segment with "Maybe I will.."
Following the segment we jump right into our next match and the tag team titles are on the line in this one as Beer Money finally cashes in on their title shot against the champions Billy Gunn & Road Dogg of the New Age Outlaws.
Beer Money vs the New Age Outlaws
UCW World Tag Team Championship
And what we have here are two teams who have absolutely no problem with pulling out all of the stops to get what they want, even if it DOES mean bending the rules a little bit..
The match kicks off with Bobby Rhoode and Road Dogg starting things off, Rhoode quickly takes the advantage for his team and does his best to isolate Road Dogg from his tag team partner. A quick tag out to storm and he picks up where Bobby left off but it isn't long before the Road Dogg Jesse James is able to battle his way back out to the center of the ring, he hits storm with a little bit of "Shake, Rattle and Roll" and adds a little spend on the ending as he hits the ropes and delivers a vicious flying forearm to the already teetering Storm and he goes down.
From his corner, Billy Gunn looks to get the crowd behind his tag team partner who is slowly crawling towards their corner. Half way there he dives and he gets the tag, Gunn hits the ring and doesn't bother slowing down as Rhoode enters from out on the ring apron and catches a nice right hand! He goes down and rolls to the outside as Billy turns to deliver some punishment to the actual legal man, James Storm. As Storm slowly comes to his feet, Billy grabs his arm and whips him into the ropes, he grounds him with an over the shoulder back drop and then plays to the crowd who gives him a decent pop.
Billy manages to keep control of the match for a good amount of time but slips up as he goes to the top rope for a leg drop. As soon as he comes off of the top rope Storm rolls to the outside of the ring and takes a knee, leaving Gunn to crash and burn in the center of the ring. Once its all said and done the cowboy rolls in underneath the bottom rope and goes for the pinfall right away but Billy gets the shoulder up at two.
Skipping ahead to the final moments of the match.. the two legal men are now Road Dogg and Bobby Rhoode
And believe it or not, this entire match has gone on so far without any funny business from either team but whats a UCW title match without a little controversy? Looking to stick rear his ugly little head in on the action the Hells Gate Champion X-PAC makes his way down to rinside along with his Hells Gate Championship and it isn't long until he decides to get involved.. Following a spinebuster to Road Dogg, Rhoode slides into the cover and as soon as he does X-PAC hops up onto the ring apron with a few choice words for the official as he holds up his Hells Gate Championship and starts to complain about not being included on tonights card.. With the official distracted Billy Gunn enters the ring from the apron, he breaks up the cover and then nails a Fame-asser on Rhoode before reversing the order of the pin fall. Once he sees this X-PAC hops down from the ring apron but runs right into a vicious clothesline from hell from the World Champion, JBL who comes out of NO WHERE! and folds him up like an accordion. JBL stands over the fallen Hells Gate Champion, pointing a finger down at him as he curses him out, meanwhile back in the ring Storm has now gotten involved, he sends Billy Gunn over the top rope with a clothesline and then breaks the cover again before drawing Road Dogg to his feet only to plant him with the Last Call super kick! Road Dogg goes down and Storm pulls Rhoode over him before tapping the official on the shoulder.
1...2..3!
NEW CHAMPIONS! NEW CHAMPIONS!!!
WINNER(S) & NEW World Tag Team Champions - Beer Money
Hardcore Invitational
Bare Knuckles Championship
The Monster Abyss vs All Challengers
Abyss is out first followed by the first of many challengers in this match..
Steve Blackman.
An unarmed Blackman makes his way down to the ring empty handed, looking to rely only on his speed and in ring smarts as he goes head to head with the Monster Abyss. This match is underway as soon as Blackman slides into the ring as Abyss charges towards him looking for a clothesline. The Lethal Weapon drops and rolls underneath the massive arm of the Monster Abyss and then quickly comes to his feet landing a vicious kick to the leg of Abyss. The big man doesn't go down but he does grab his leg as a result of the kick but this doesn't slow Blackman down as he continues to break the monster down with kicks, surprisingly he brings Abyss down to one knee but makes the mistake of whipping himself off of the ropes and THIS is where he lands himself in a world of trouble as Abyss rises from his knee and connects with a clothesline!
Finally we see the tide of this match switch in favor of the champ as he leans down and wraps both hands around the throat of Blackman, snatching him up from the canvas with ease only to drop him ack down with a headbutt!
Abyss puts the attack on hold as the music of the next competitor blares out over the sound system and these two are no strangers to eachother!
Raven
Raven strolls out onto the stage and unlike Steve Blackman he isn't coming alone as he pushes a shopping cart filled with several objects which are sure to do some type of destruction. The Monster Abyss stands in the center of the ring and begins motioning for Raven to come down to the ring and he does so, but not before grabbing a kendo stick from the shopping cart.
Hopping up onto the ring apron Raven taunts Abyss from the outside of the ring with the kendo stick, forcing the big man to charge forward and as soon as he does Raven hops down off of the apron and sends the stick crashing into his skull repeatedly. Abyss refuses to go down but the shots from the kendo stick leave him stunned as he stumbles back out into the center of the ring. Blackman now back to his feet jumps on the back of the monster and does his best to lock in a sleeper hold.
Finally Raven enters the fray and its clear to everyone what type of fight this is going to be as he works on chopping down the legs of Abyss using the kendo stick while Blackman keeps the sleeperhold applied. It isn't long before Abyss is down to a knee and Raven decides that he'd rather stick to everyman for himself as he DRIVES the stick into the back of Blackman forcing him to release the choke hold and just like that Ravens attention shifts from the Monster Abyss onto the much smaller Steve Blackman.
Out next we have...
Bam Bam Bigelow
And boy is he pissed as he marches down to the ring! the last we saw of Bam Bam he was taking a hard loss against the Monster Abyss in a singles match so you can bet your money hes gonna be looking to redeem himself here tonight in this Hardcore invitational. As Raven and Blackman exchange blows in the center of the ring, Abyss is slowly coming to his feet. Bam Bam immediately rolls himself into the ring and doesn't waste anytime going after the first person he sees. He charges across the ring and plants poor Steve Blackman with a forearm to the back of the neck before putting the boots to him, as Blackman rolls over onto his back Bigelow catapults himself off of the ropes and lands a BIG SPLASH in the center of the ring! He makes the cover and its done..
Steve Blackman has been eliminated..
Following Blackmans eliminatin Bam Bam comes to his feet and turns around walking right into an uppercut from the Monster Abyss & here we go! the two monsters of the match begin exchanging blows.. Skipping ahead in the match
We see entrances from:
Hardcore Holly
Super Crazy
Psychosis
Hardcore Holly enters the match but doesn't stay for long as the Monster Abyss seals the deal for him with a chokeslam over a an empty tin trash can.
Hardcore Holly has been eliminated..
Whats even more surprising is the fact that despite this match being every man for himself the team of Psychosis and Super Crazy entered the match just as that.. as a TEAM! together these guys put on one hell of a performance and manage to get the dominating Bam Bam Bigelow out of the match.. With the big man down on the canvas both men take to the top rope to deliver their signatures. Super Crazy lands a nice somersault from the top rope and then stands by as Psychosis drops a leg across the throat of Bam Bam Bigelow and that isn't all, they even make the cover together! packing one on top of the other as the ref counts the 3!
Bam Bam Bigelow has been eliminated
Following the elimination of Bigelow comes the elimination of RAVEN who eats a Black hole slam from the Monster Abyss..
Raven has been eliminated
With Raven now eliminated Psychosis and Super Crazy have now set there sights on the only giant AND the only man left in the match other than themselves.. and thats the champion, the Monster Abyss. Abyss steps out into the center of the ring and braces himself for whats sure to be a two on one beat down.. or maybe not! As Psychosis and Super Crazy charge forward the Monster Abyss grabs both men and delivers a DOUBLE CHOKESLAM before stacking them one on top of the other. He hits the ropes and puts the final nail in the coffin with a big splash in the center of the ring before making the cover!
1-2-3....
Psychosis & Super Crazy have been eliminated...
Following the double elimination of Psychosis and Super Crazy Father Mitchell retrieves the Bareknuckles Championship from ringside and heads for the ring with it. He enters the ring and hands the title strap over to Abyss but as soon as he does the lights inside of the arena are dimmed and the crowd comes back alive.. Theres a brief silence but once the lights inside of the FED EX forum return to normal the crowd goes nuts!
Spike Dudley!
It's Spike Dudley!!! Little Spike Dudley!
Whenever General Manager Thedore Long said that maybe he WOULD go out and find a challenge for Abyss who knew that he would jump right on the job?! Spike may not be the biggest dog in the fight, but believe me.. He hits HARD!
Armed with a steel chair and perched at the top rope little Spike points at Abyss before diving down, driving the steel chair into the skull of the monster, taking him down instantly! Spike tosses the chair aside and then pounces on Abyss, delivering several mounted punches before rising to his feet. He looks out on the crowd before pushing his glasses up onto his face and then slides to the outside of the ring to lift up the ring apron. A "We want tables" chant begins to circulate throughout the arena and Spike delivers as he pulls a table from underneath the apron and sets it up out at ringside. Slowly but surely Abyss comes to his feet and as soon as Spike rolls in he charges. On all 4s Spike crawls through the legs of Abyss who leans forward to grab him only to receive a boot to the groin.. Spike rises from the canvas and he grabs the head of Abyss who is slouched forward and it looks like hes setting up for a Dudley Dog as he heads for the corner...... BUT NO! Abyss sends him CRASHING through his OWN table on the outside of the ring! Several "Holy Shit" chants are now filling the arena along with chants of "This is awesome!" As the cameras get a close up shot of Spike Dudleys broken body on the outside of the ring..
Once again Father Mitchell rushes from ringside with the championship, he rolls into the ring and immediately begins to tug at the massive arm of Abyss, doing his best to tell him that NOW would be a good time to leave.. Abyss shoves Mitchell away and turns to face the stage, motioning for any more challengers to make their way out from the back.. but little does he know his next challenger is already behind him... The fans inside of the arena are going NUTS! as the camera gets a shot of..
Balls Mahoney!
Balls centers himself behind Abyss and Father Mitchell with a barbwire wrapped steel chair.. He bangs the chair against the canvas a few times to catch the attention of both Mitchell and the camp... As soon as they turn around a startled father Mitchell falls to the canvas and backs himself into the corner as Abyss runs right into a chair shot! Abyss goes down but immediately rolls to the outside of the ring, Father Mitchell following suit, but not before retrieving the title from the canvas.. He and Abyss meet near the entrance ramp and begin to back up the stage as the crowd showers them in boos, meanwhile in the ring, Balls Mahoney leans over the top rope, pointing his barbwire steel chair at the fleeing Hardcore Champion.
Commercial Break
Following a brief commercial break the cameras return to ringside and we roll right into a video package hyping the next match up & its Dave Batista vs Big E. Langston...
Big E. Langston vs Batista
And here we go! These guys are two of the hardest hitters on the UCW roster right now and for the past two months they've had some issues with one another and even though Batista was not cleared to compete here tonight, he basically FORCED Teddy Long to toss him into the ring with Big E. Langston in this No Holds Barred match.. Teddy agreed, but not before Dave would sign a contract which stated that he nor the UCW would be held responsible for whatever happens to him in this match. Batista signed the contract with no problem and now here we are.
Langston enters first to a huge negative reaction from the crowd. As soon as he takes his place in the corner Batista music hits and comes out to a standing ovation from the crowd, his ribs still heavily bandaged following Langstons attack at the last WARFARE show. Batista waste little time heading down to the ring to get his hands on Big E. Langston who meets him half way up the ramp! (Ref calls for the bell)
Langston goes for a right hand but Batista blocks it and delivers a few right hands of his own which send Langston staggering back towards the ring apron. With no signs of slowing down in sight, the Animal grabs Langston from behind and bounces him off of the ring apron face first. Langston tries to cower away from Batista but he grabs him and sends him face first into the steel steps before guiding him over and tossing him shoulder first into the ringside barrier.
Langston goes down and Batista plays to the crowd. For a man who isn't cleared to compete Batista has come into this match strong! Picking up the steel ring steps Batista launches them forward towards Langston who dives to the side at the last second, allowing the steps to crash into the ringside barrier. Langston crawls over to the ring apron and before hes able to get to his feet Batista is on him again but a rake to the eyes buys Langston enough time to come to his feet and as soon as he does he tackles Batista and crushes him between his massive frame AND the ring barrier possibly doing more damage to the already injured ribs. As Batista slinks down up against the barrier Langston grabs his head and begins to slam it back into it repeatedly. He pauses for a second and looks out onto the crowd with a cold look in his eyes and then leans forward to draw Batista back to his feet.
Looking to showcase his strength Langston scoops Batista up over his shoulder and heads over to the ring apron with him. He rolls him in underneath the bottom rope and then nails him with a few right hands to the skull before stepping up onto the ring apron himself. TRolling out to the center of the ring, Batista comes up to all 4s and does his best to shake the cobwebs from his head as Langston comes from the side and lands a huge kick to the ribs which sends him tumbling. It looks like Langston has gained control for the remainder of the match but skipping ahead.. We see Batista fighting his way back into the bout and MAN is he pissed off about the way Langston has been man handling him..Refusing to give in Batista looks to further punish Langston by reintroducing the steel steps to the match. A wicked shot to the skull with the sharp end of the steel leaves Langston leaking and Batista stalking him for something big... It looks like hes setting up for his powerbomb...but no WAIT, from behind the new tag team champs have just slid into the ring unnoticed and their sights are set on Batista!!!! Rhoode clubs the Animal in the back and Storm rushes in to help as they begin to stomp away at him despite the crowds disapproval. Not long after a loud pop from the crowd renders the relentless attack and both Storm & Rhoode look up the stage to see the Hardy Boyz heading for the ring!
As soon as the Hardys hit the ring Beer Money are sent running for the hills through the crowd but the chase has just begun as Matt & Jeff jump the barrier and continue through the crowd as well.
Back in the ring both Langston slowly finds his way to his feet and begins to lower his straps, a sign at this point in the match that could mean that the end is near.. As Batista finally gets to his feet he walks right into a Bear Hug that SAME Bear Hug that Langston had applied to him to injure the ribs before! As Batista begins to fade Langston starts to apply more pressure. The ref ask Batista if he wants to give in but he refuses to do so but its only a matter of time before he really begins to fade away.. and just when it looks like Langston has it in the bag Batista begins to fight back with right hands to the skull, slowly forcing the bloodied Langston to loosen the grip of the lock, once Langstons grip loosens enough Batista wraps a hand around his head and uses all of his weight to drop him face first into a STEEL CHAIR on the canvas with a DDT!
With Langston down and out Batista rolls into the cover, hooking the leg for the 1..2..3! And its over!
WINNER - Batista
Following the match the cameras cut to the back were JBL has just witnessed the outcome of the Langston/Batista match.. He removes his hat and holds its close to his chest for a second before letting out a sigh, he then grabs the World Heavyweight Championship and exits the locker room to head for the ring.
AND ITS NOW MAIN EVENT TIME!
We've been waiting all night for this one....
The UCW World Heavyweight Championship is on the line as the self proclaimed "Wrestling God" JBL takes on the "Heart Break Kid" Shawn Michaels one on one!
JBL vs Shawn Michaels
One on One
UCW World Heavyweight Championship
These two guys have quite a history with each other here in the UCW and it all began during month one due to the THEN vacant World Heavy Weight Championship. JBL managed to cheat his way to the top of the contenders list and found himself in battle with two of the businesses biggest icons Shawn Michaels and the Undertaker. With the help of his newly formed Cabinet he managed to walk out of the UCW's first ever PPV "Locked and Loaded" as the first World Heavyweight Champion...
Since that night, things between Michaels and JBL have continued to heat up and thats what leads us here into tonights main event match..
After a quick video package to highlight the history between Michaels and JBL the cameras focus in on the stage as Shawn Michaels music hits the arenas sound system and he makes his way out onto the stage to a standing ovation from the sold out Memphis crowd! Michaels doesn't waste any time finding his way down to the ring and immediately takes his place in a corner to await the arrival of the champ. JBL makes his entrance and of course its the same over the top limo ride out to the ring that he usually has before a big match. As he takes his place in a corner the official gets ready to call for the opening bell but is interrupted by General Manager Teddy Long.
Teddy makes his way out onto the stage to remind us all of how JBL actually WON the World Heavyweight Championship.. He then ask the champ if he thinks hes going to let history repeat itself tonight with another interference from Beer Money then hes out of his mind.. He then points out the steel cage hovering above the ring and shouts for the guys in the back to lower it.
The camera catches a quick shot of the expression on Michaels face as he flashes a satisfied smirk it then switches to JBL who looks as If hes just seen a ghost.
The bell sounds off and JBL immediately looks for a quick escape, scaling the side of the cage as Shawn runs up from behind and clubs him in the back, not even giving him the chance to make it half way up the cage. JBL slowly descends the cage and turns around right into a left hand from HBK. Grabbing the arm of the champ HBK whips him across the ring and connects with a spinning elbow. JBL goes down and Michaels plays to the crowd a little bit.
The action in this match is very back and forth and we see both competitors using the environment to their advantage as Michaels slams JBL face first into the cage repeatedly at one point in the match and JBL uses the cage wall as a mitt as he delivers his Last Call fall away slam to HBK getting him all tied up between the ropes and the cage.
By the midpoint of the match, things have turned into a blood bath, both men have been busted open and the fight seems to be slowing down quite a bit but this doesn't stop our competitors from putting on a clinical for the sold out crowd. Both men race to the top of the cage and get a single leg over before stopping to slug it out, Michaels gets the advantage as he grabs the head of JBL and bounces it off of the top of the cage. The crowd goes NUTS as Bradshaw goes crashing down onto the canvas! they're threatening to tear the roof off of the FED Ex forum because they know that victory may be just around the next corner for the Heart Break Kid Shawn Michaels.. but soon the cheers turn to boos as Big E. Langston and Beer Money make their way down to ringside all 3 men armed with steel chairs..
Michaels steadies himself on top of the cage and looks down at the three men standing below him on the outside of the cage, taunting him as they smack the chairs up against the side of the steel he then looks down at JBL who lays sprawled out on the canvas and then gives a careless shrug before driving an elbow straight into the heart of the champion!!! The crowd erupts with "This is awesome" as the Cabinet enters panic mode on the outside of the ring. The elbow from Shawn definitely looks like the final nail in the coffin of JBL's title reign as he slowly crawls into the cover.. The official hits the canvas and he makes the count..
1.... 2...... NO! JBL GETS THE SHOULDER UP at the very last second and Michaels rolls off of him, looking towards the rafters with glazed over look in his eyes...
And at this point you have to be wondering what is it going to take for one of these men to keep the other down long enough to end this thing?! Well the answer is soon to come... Both men are down and slowly stirring as they both come to their hands and knees and begin crawling towards the ropes for leverage. JBL crawls over towards the ropes just in front of his Cabinet and as he nears James Storm slides something through one of the links of the fence. JBL quickly grabs the small object and stuffs it into his tights before beginning to scale the cage again. Michaels has also began scaling the same side of the cage and once they reach the top we witness yet another all out slug fest.. This time its JBL who benefits but not without first raking the eyes of Michaels to buy himself some time! The crowd boos as a blinded HBK tries to regain his vision and this is all the time that JBL needs to capitalize as he reaches into his trunks and pulls out a pair of brass knuckles! He slips them on over his fist and then nails Michaels with a vicious right hand across the skull! and Shawn is out as soon as he hits the canvas.. Unlike Michaels, JBL doesn't want to stick around to fight and besides since HBK doesn't have a team of chair wielding mad men chomping at his heels he has no problem climbing down from the cage and he takes his time and does just that.
Half way down he falls back and right into the arms of the Cabinet. The official calls for the bell and the ringside celebration begins as the three men hoist JBL up into the air.
WINNER & STILL WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION - John Bradshaw Layfield
