Press ConferenceAJPW held a press conference at it's office in the Yushima Building. In attendance were sports reps from NTV and writers from magazines "Baseball" and "Weekly Pro Wrestling." Conducting the meeting were Giant Baba, Joe Higuchi and Masanobu Fuchi. Giant Baba started by stating he was excited for AJPW's upcoming mini-tour. Bab stated that normal operations would see a monthly 10 event tour starting in July. The July tour would see the first champions crowned. Giant Baba also announced that NTV were minority owners and owned the exclusive broadcast rights in Japan. AJPW was also joining the MUW Network which would handle international broadcasting. Joe Higuchi, the head official said that he and Kyohei Wada would handle officiating duties for the matches and help athlete relations by working with a representative from the wrestling roster. Both Higuchi and Baba confirmed that beginning with the July tour; gaijin wrestlers would be showcased. Masanobu Fuchi was introduced as a junior heavyweight wrestler and the wrestling liaison for management. He said that the roster would currently at 30 wrestlers, with 11 of them junior heavyweights. When asked about inter-promotional matches, Giant Baba stated that AJPW would not be getting involved with other promotions for the foreseeable future. He said the focus at this stage was to get AJPW off the ground with its own identity. Once things were set, then bringing in guests from other MUW Network promotions would be something to explore. Giant Baba stated that while he did own a majority of the promotion, it was really his wife, Makoto who controlled the business end and he would be focused on wrestling and promoting matches. Giant Baba stated that with NTV's ownership, involvement, and the involvement of the PWF governing body and an AJPW Board of Directors, he would not be able to abuse power, even if he wanted. When asked about Lord James Blears as the PWF Chairman, Bab said that Lord James Blears brought dignity and honor. Baba said he was certain Lord Blears would lead the body well and that worthy contenders would battle for the titles. At the end of the press conference, Baba released the card for the first card at Korakuen Hall on 6.25 AJPW's "Giant launch: Let's Raise a Giant Army!" Tour 6.25 from Korakuen Hall

I usually have a hard time getting into the Japanese feds because I don’t follow Japanese wrestling. However you did a really good job in your descriptions so I can vision what the match looks like even if I wasn’t too familiar with the guys. My favorite match was probably muta versus jumbo, because I probably know those two the best. I have a little problem with the structure of the main event. you start with a steel chair before the bell and then end with a steel chair that caused the DQ. I probably would have just had the mist be the disqualification. I probably would’ve also put in a line at the start of the referee asking Baba if he wanted to still go on with the match after the attack.

Akiyama vs. Kawada was my favourite match on the card. The last three matches were all very entertaining.
Kobashi vs. Akiyama and the 6-man tag team main event are the bouts I'm most looking forward to seeing tonight.

A weapon isn't automatic DQ, especially if used outside the ring or before a match. The idea I tried to convey in brevity was that Higuchi was pushed to the limit with Kabuki. Also, a 5 count is often used for DQ situation unless the ref is assaulted.

ResultsAJPW's "Giant Launch: Let's Raise a Giant Army!" Tour 6.26 from Korakuen Hall 2,051 in attendance 1. Singles, 20 Minute Time Limit: Kakihara Masahito (X) [12:43 Pin- Backslide] Nishimura Osamu (O) This was a fairly easy match for Nishimura. while Kakihara tried using low kicks (he was equipped with kickpads over his boots), Nishimura was able to close the gap quickly. He kept Kakihara on the mat for much of the contest working him over with Achilles Locks, Leg Grapevines, straight arm locks, a Chicken Wing Arm Lock and a Head Scissors hold. Nishimura had Kakihara grounded with a Headlock, hauled Kakihara to he feet, hit a hard European Uppercut that spun Kakihara around and allowed Nishimura to capitaize with the Backslide for the pinfall win. 2. Singles, 20 Minute Time Limit: Sekimoto Daisuke (O) [8:21 Pin- Deadlift German Suplex Hold] Kikuchi Tsuyoshi (X) This was a bit of a mismatch as Kikuchi is 5'10" and 218 pounds. Sekimoto is 5'9" and 262 pounds of solid muscle. While Sekimoto doesn't have the bodybuilder look, he is thick, densely put together and quite frankly, Sekimoto is a tank. Sekimoto showed off his stability and power game as Kikucki tried to drop him with dropkicks, shoulder tackles and lariats. Sekimoto met Kikuchi with his own lariat that dropped the junior heavyweight. Sekimoto got Kikuchi in the corner and while the offense was rudimentary, the shoulder thrusts into Kikuchi's abdomen, the kicks and then the lift and drop over the top rope all made their point. The end of the match came when Sekimoto pressed Kikuchi over his head and dropped him forward on his stomach with a Military Press Slam. As Kikuchi was helpless, Daisuke stood above him, wrapped his arms under Kikuchi's waist and shocked the fans with a Deadlift german Suplex hold. Sekimoto showed explosive power and flexibility as he held a decent bridge to complete the pifalln. 3. Singles, 30 Minute Time Limit: Takada Nobuhiko (O) [21:34 Pin- High Roundhouse Kick] Zeus (X) Zeus is another powerhouse, and unlike Sekimoto, has a bit more of a bodybuilder physique with some aesthetically pleasing striations. Takada showed no respect at first as he pelted away with hard open handed slaps and a back spin kick to the gut that put Zeus on all fours. As Takada charged in, Zeus leapt up with a forearm strike that knocked Takada down. Zeus pounced on Takada and delivered clubbing forearms. However, Zeus gassed and Takada grabbed an arm to secure a Cross Armbreaker. Zeus managed to get to the ropes but damage was done. Zeus was on the defensive for the rest of the match. He did execute a nice 1 Handed Chokeslam, but Takada recovered and continue to launch kicks at the arm and tried to zero in on it. The end came when Takada feinted another kick to the arm, Zeus reacted to defend it, but Takada went high to the exposed head of Zeus. Zeus fell in a heap and Takada got the pin. 4. Singles, 30 Minute Time Limit: Kobashi Kenta (O) [25:56 Pin- Burning Lariat] Akiyama Jun (X) This match as pretty evenly matched as both men gave their all. Akiyama had the momentum for a while with nice chops and tried wearing down Kobashi with a Boston Crab. Kobashi got to the ropes, but Akiyama hit a Uranage for a 2 count. Kobashi was backed to the corner where Akiyama tried a dropkick that missed. Kobashi then went on the attack with his Machine-Gun like Chops. Kobashi then hit a Backdrop for a 2 count. When Kobashi had Akiyama backed up against the ropes, Akiyama side stepped a Lariat attempt and threw Kobashi out of the ring. Akiyama came off the apron with a missile dropkick that sent Kobashi into the barricade. Both men traded blows outside the ring and Akiyama won the exchange. He rolled Kobashi back in the ring and hit him with a forearm. Kobashi's fighting spirit rose and Akiyama hit him again, and a thrid time. Akiyama then whipped Kobashi off the ropes, hit a forearm, turned Kobashi around and hit a release German Suplex. Kobashi got up, hit a Rolling Kesgiri Chop and then crumpled Akiyama with a Burning Lariat to get the win! 5. Singles, 30 Minute Time Limit: Super Tiger II (X) {19:19 Pin- Cobra Twist Pin] Ishikawa Yuki (O) Both men exchanged holds in the early stages. Super Tiger II used a nice Dragon Screw followed up with an Leg Lock. he had the elbow in Ishikawa's knee while cranking on the toe. Ishikawa got out of it by reaching for Super Tiger II and getting a crossface type hold, which he then transitioned into a side headlock. Super Tiger II was on his back and had a couple of quick 1 counts against him. He managed to get Ishikawa on his back while engaged with the headlock for a couple of 1 counts. Super Tiger II then managed to get Yuki in a Headscissors, but Yuki escaped by driving his elbows into Tiger's shins. Yuki then tried a Spinning Toe Hold, but Super Tiger II refused to give and countered with an Inside Cradle for a 2. Both men got back to their feet when Super Tiger II connected with a nice Spin Kick. As Yuki was down, Super Tiger II ran in with a nice flipping senton splash. He got Yuki in the corner and connected with an Avalanche Suplex. Super Tiger II then went to the top rope and hit a Moonsualt for a near fall. Tiger went back up and Yuki slowly got to his feet, Tiger leapt and tried a Diving Body Press, but Yuki moved out of the way at the last split second. He then applied a Reverse Indian Deathlock, but Tiger was able to get to the ropes. Yuki hit a Backdrop for a 2 count. He then tried an Enzuigiri for another 2 count. Tiger tried a High Kick, but Yuki ducked it, hit Tiger with a Enzui Lariat and locked in a Cobra Twist. He then fell backwards with Super Tiger II trapped in a pinning predicament from which the Tiger couldn't escape. After the match, both men shook hands. 6. Six Man Tag, 45 Minute Time Limit: Great Kabuki (O), Great Muta, Great Nita [31:58 Pinfall] Giant Baba, Tenryu Genichhiro and Jumbo Tsuruta (X) There was too much action to try to list. A highlight for fans was actually the entrance of the "Three Great Ones." The Great Kabuki had nunchaku and The Great Nita had his kusarigama. While The Great Muta didn't have a weapon, all three men did simultaneously spewed their Dokugiri that both impressed and startled fans. Kabuki's mist was Green Nita's was red and Muta's was Black. As Bab, Tenryu and Tsuruta were coming out, Kabuki pulled the same tactic he pulled previously, as attacked Baba while Baba and his partner's were on their way to the ring! The ensuing brawl was wild as the match hadn't officially begun. Kabuki worked over Baba with the nunchaku, and Nita used the kusarigama to make Tenryu bleed! Tsuruta was able to fight off Muta, get a chair, and disarm Kabuki and Nita. The match itself, once it got started was a wild brawl. There was constant cutting in, pinfall and submissions broken up, and double teaming. If Joe Higuchi wasn't already bald, he would have pulled his hair out. The scene was chaotic and Baba's team had no choice but to throw wrestling out and brawl. Tsuruta hit his famous Running Knee Strike, Tenryu viciously chopped away at the chest of anyone who came near and Bab used his famous Baba Chops and Big Boot. After a protracted war that saw Tsuruta get busted open as well as Tenryu, a path for victory seemed to open. Jumbo had the advantage on Kabuki. Muta then suddenly dropped off the apron, crawled under the ring to the other side and began attacked Baba and Tenryu! Referee Joe Higuchi turned his back to Tsuruta and Kabuki and stood bent over with his torso leaning between the top and middle ropes. He was yelling at Muta, Baba and Tenryu. In the ring, Tsuruta grabbed Kabuki and looked like he was going to give him a Backdrop when Great Nita jumped in and spewed Green mist in Tsuruta's face! Kabuki was able to shift his weight and counter the Backdrop with a Crossbody. Muta and Nita scrambled away, Joe Higuchi turned and counted the pinfall! Baba and Tenryu entered the ring and the "Three Great Ones" left the ring, but they stayed near ringside, taunting the AJPW Sekigun reps.

Kawada’s first powerbomb was not enough. He needed a second powerbomb where he then slid forward with his feet off the mat for extra leverage. 5. Singles, 30 Minute Time Limit: Great Nita (X) [21:02 Powerbomb] Tenryu Genichiro (O) The Great Nita was isolated, and unable to use his kusarigama. Tag Team, 45 Minute Time Limit: Great Kabuki (X) and Great Muta [15:48 DQ- Ref Assault] Giant Baba (O) and Jumbo Tsuruta It was another wild match as a brawl broke out before the match began. Once order was restored and the match began, Kabuki and Muta were using rough tactics. Baba and Tsuruta stood strong and started to overcome. Baba hit a Russian Leg Sweep on Muta and Kabuki made the save. When Higuchi tried to move Kabuki back to his corner, Kabuki sprayed Green Dokugiri into Higuchi's face! Higuchi went down and immediately signaled for the bell while ring attendants rushed in to tend to the blinded official.
