Inside Jake The Snake underground desert palace, we see Chris Jericho tapping out a drum beat on the bars of the cage that contains him when Magnum T.A. awakes. He groans and Jericho says, “Way to go you, jackass! Now you’re trapped in here, too.” T.A. says he has a headache. Jericho tells him that the guy with the mask and the clownish-looking cowboy outfit knocked him out. T.A. asks about Eddie Guerrero. Jericho says that he took off running. T.A. asks where that goofy looking masked luchador went and Jericho tells him that he went chasing after Eddie after he locked T.A. in the cage. T.A. isn’t thrilled to hear that. He needs to hurry to try to find them. Jericho says he can slow down because he’s not going anywhere. T.A. says he’ll have them both out of there in no time. He starts picking the locks. Jericho is sceptical that it’ll work, but T.A. successfully picks them through the bars and frees himself. Then, he picks the locks on Jericho’s cage and tells him to follow him because he knows the way out.

In doing so, he is the first luchador to qualify for one of seven spots in a match to win the Gift of the Gods at Ultima Lucha Tres. This was a 7-minute contest that ended when Almas executed a running double-knee smash to The Godfather’s face as he was in seated position in the corner. After that, he brought The Godfather to his feet and executed La Sombra for the win.

We go into the Japanese-looking dojo where Kevin Owens and “Classy” Freddie Blassie are supposed to be meditating, but Owens can’t get into the right headspace to sit still long enough to do it. He’s agitated by the fact that Pentagon DARK was taken out on a stretcher after he gave him two powerbombs on the ring apron last week and returned less than an hour later to attack him. Normally, one powerbomb on the ring apron is enough to injure a luchador for at least two months. It’s impossible that he could come back. Blassie tells him that Pentagon was a pupil under Vampiro’s tutelage for a long time, so he’s not as fragile as most luchadores. Nevertheless, he seems to have become more resilient somehow. And now, Blassie has learned that Pentagon DARK went to Antonio Cueto and requested a Cero Miedo Match against Kevin Owens at Ultima Lucha Tres, and Cueto granted him this request. So now, he must prepare himself for the fight of his life and he must show the world why he is the greatest Prizefighter in lucha. Owens says that he’ll do that, and at Ultima Lucha Tres, he’s going to end the career of Pentagon DARK!

MATCH FOR ONE OF THE SEVEN ANCIENT AZTEC MEDALLIONS
Ivelisse Vélez vs. Mike Awesome w/ Famous B & Beautiful Brenda
Mike Awesome defeated Ivelisse Vélez by pinfall to earn one of the seven ancient Aztec medallions. In doing so, he became the second luchador to qualify for the Gift of the Gods match at Ultima Lucha Tres. Ivelisse was outmatched as she faced an opponent who was 2.5 times her size. Awesome’s power and athleticism was too much for Ivelisse to handle. While she made a spirited rally around the 5-minute mark, executing a diving hurricanrana and a missile dropkick, her attempt to execute a diving crossbody was stopped as Awesome caught her and then gave her a fallaway slam. Not long after that, he gave her an Awesome Bomb and pinned her for the win.

We go inside Antonio Cueto’s office, where we is counting a stack of cash when suddenly the lights flicker off for a moment. When they turn back on, Antonio finds himself sitting across his desk from Catrina. Antonio marvels at her ability to perform tricks of the undead. She tells them it has nothing to do with being undead, but doesn’t elaborate. She says that she’s come here on business. She tells Antonio that she wants a Lucha Underground Championship match for Mil Muertes. Antonio says that since he made it to the finals of the Dario Cueto Luchadores Cup, he guesses that would be fair and offers to make tonight’s main event a triple threat. She declines. She says that two weeks ago Mil Muertes defeated the Lucha Underground Champion to earn his spot in the Cup finals, so he has already proven that he is worthy of a title shot. Antonio considers her argument for a moment and has that she makes another valid point, so next week Mil Muertes will challenge “Macho King” Randy Savage for the Lucha Underground Championship. Pleased with his answer, the lights flicker off and on, and Catrina is gone.

WINNER TO COMPETE FOR THE LUCHA UNDERGROUND CHAMPIONSHIP
AT ULTIMA LUCHA TRES
Prince Puma vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts
After both luchadores had made their ring entrances, but before the referee could signal for the bell to be rung, a voice not heard in the Temple for a long time spoke over the P.A. system. Then, spotted walking in through the Temple’s floor entrance was Eddie Guerrero. The Believers chanted his name. Prince Puma and Jake The Snake were both surprised. The Snake looked really angry. Latino Heat objected to this match occurring because the last time he checked, he had a guaranteed Lucha Underground Championship title match. Antonio Cueto came out of his office to find out why the match hadn’t begun. Guerrero, looking at him, commented that Dario Cueto looked like he’d aged a thousand years since he was last here, and then repeated what he said. Antonio responded that he no-showed the event so he forfeit his opportunity. Guerrero explained that Puma took him to the hospital after he was attacked in the back alley on his way to the Temple for that match, but before he made it into the ER, Jake The Snake showed up and kidnapped him! Roberts denied the charge.
But then, another voice not heard in the Temple in a long time interrupted by saying, “WELCOME TO LUCHA IS JERICHO!” Jericho then proceeded to stake his claim to the Ultima Lucha Tres main event, which he earned by winning the Ultima Lucha Dos Battle Royale. He says that after the event, he was attacked in the back alley and had his contract stolen from him by that man – Jake The Snake! Antonio said that he didn’t really care whether that was true or not, as a promoter he sensed the opportunity to make a special main event even more special. Now, this match where the winner gets to challenge “Macho King” Randy Savage for the Lucha Underground Championship at Ultima Lucha Tres is going to be a fatal fourway! Jericho thanks Dario and tells him he should go see a doctor because he looks about a million years older than the last time he saw him. Antonio’s heard enough wisecracks and tells Melissa Santos to ring the bell!

WINNER TO COMPETE FOR THE LUCHA UNDERGROUND CHAMPIONSHIP
AT ULTIMA LUCHA TRES
Prince Puma vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts
WINNER TO COMPETE FOR THE LUCHA UNDERGROUND CHAMPIONSHIP
AT ULTIMA LUCHA TRES
Prince Puma vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Jericho vs. Jake “The Snake” Roberts
This was a long, hard-fought lucha between four incredible luchadores. Prince Puma had the advantage of pure athleticism. Despite being locked up in a cage for several months, Eddie Guerrero still appear to have limitless endurance. Chris Jericho, who was locked up in a cage for even longer, tired out quicker than normal, but he knew how and when to pick his spots and used weapons to maximum effect. Jake Roberts was doubtlessly the best tactician in the bout. There was no wasted motion on his part, every maneuver was calculated and carefully chosen to maximize the wear and tear on his opponents.
There were brawls outside the ring that followed several attacks from the ring to the floor. Jericho performed a plancha off the top turnbuckle to Roberts. Guerrero took them both out with a slingshot tope. Prince Puma took them all out with a running over-the-top-rope hands-free corkscrew moonsault plancha. Highlights of the action outside the ring included Jericho giving Guerrero a vertical suplex from the ring apron to the floor through a table, Puma giving Jericho a leg-hook belly-to-back suplex into a row of wooden chairs at ringside, and Roberts giving Puma his patented DDT high up in the section of hardwood bleachers.
There were close calls for every luchador. Roberts nearly won the match by pinning Jericho after climbing onto the middle rope to give him a gutbuster. Prince Puma nearly won the match after giving Roberts a benadryller. Guerrero nearly won the match after executing a diving hurricanrana with a cradle on Prince Puma. And Jericho nearly won the match after giving Guerrero a surprise one-handed bulldrog followed by the lionsault. These were all close calls with their opponents barely kicking out before the referee’s hand hit the mat for a third time.
Coming closer to winning, Guerrero had his big moment when he gave Roberts the three amigos before blocking an attack by Jericho and giving him the three amigos before blocking an attack from Puma and giving him the three amigos. With everyone down, he went to top rope and executed a picture perfect frog splash on Puma and pinned him, but Roberts broke up the pinfall, got Guerrero into a hammerlock and a quick short-arm clothesline and then caught Jericho attempting to attack him with a DDT from out of nowhere. Roberts pinned Jericho, but Guerrero broke it up. After Roberts dumped Guerrero to the floor with a clothesline over the top rope, Prince Puma hit him with a pair of superkicks and then went to the top rope to go for the 630-degree senton bomb. Roberts moved and Puma overturned at the last second to land on his feet by was immediately given a Codebreaker. Jericho pinned him but Roberts broke it up just in the nick of time. He threw Jericho through the ropes and he collided with Guerrero, effectively taking them both out. Then, Roberts picked up Puma and put him in a side headlock. Puma acted quickly to avoid the DDT, executing a northern lights suplex and rolling through to execute a deadlift vertical suplex. Then, he went to the top rope and this time he hit the 630-senton. 1…2…3!
And just like that, Prince Puma defeated Eddie Guerrero, Chris Jericho, and Jake “The Snake” Roberts by pinfall to win the right to challenge “Macho King” Randy Savage for the Lucha Underground Championship at Ultima Lucha Tres.
Speaking of the “Macho King” Randy Savage, he and Sensational Queen Sherri hit the ring to interrupt Prince Puma’s victory celebration. Savage made a sneak attack on Puma by hitting him between the shoulder blades with his royal sceptre. He hit him a few more times with his sceptre before sitting down on his chest and pounding away at Puma’s head with his fists. Then, he got up and Sherri gave him a frog splash! After that, the “Macho King” went to the top rope, pointed to the heavens and struck Puma right in the heart with his patented diving elbow drop. Then Queen handed the King his Lucha Underground Championship and he held it high in the air as he stood over Puma’s lifeless body.

We go into a dimly lit room where we find someone tied to a chair with a black bag over their head. The Ultimate Warrior enters the room and pulls the bag off their head and then rips the duct tape off their mouth. It’s Cortez Castro. He is panicking. Ultimate Warrior demands to know the real reason Castro was snooping around Antonio Cueto’s office a couple weeks ago. Castro won’t speak. Ultimate Warrior takes a bull rope with a knot tied in it and whips it across the part of his lower back that is left exposed by the wooden chair he’s tied to. He says he can keep doing this for hours and hours until he talks, or he can tell him what he wants to know and be set free never to show his face in Boyle Heights again. He asks the question again. Again, he gets no answer. Again, he whips him with the bull rope, this time across the back of his left hand. Castro decides to spill. He says his name is Ricky Reyes and he was in the office looking for evidence that would lead him to the Gauntlet of the Gods. To this, the Warrior stops and asks him what he found out. He says he found nothing. He gets another whipping across the other hand. Reyes maintains that he was looking for it but he couldn’t find it. Warrior thanks him for the truth and asks him for any parting words. Reyes panics and pleads for mercy before saying that Antonio isn’t going to give it to him. Warrior looks at him and asks him to repeat himself. He says it again. He says he’s kidding himself if he thinks that the Gauntlet will be given to him. He says that as soon as Antonio believes he can control his son, the Gauntlet will be given back to Matanza Cueto and then all hell will break loose. He pleads to be let go so he can stop it. The Ultimate Warrior pauses, then says he’s wrong before gagging him and putting a large black bag over his head. The scene goes black and horrific muffled scream of terror is the last thing we hear.
