NWA Championship Wrestling Sept. 14 Saturday TV Taping
The announcing team of Gordon Solie & Bob Caudle are standing in front of the huge NWA Logo before they welcome the fans the new episode of NWA Championship Wrestling. Gordon & Bob state they have a lot to talk about as they announce the next NWA Pay-Per-View is set for Sunday, Sept. 29 for the Fall Brawl to held Boston, Mass. Commissioner Jim Barnett has signed contracts to have the MSD Men's World's Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins & the Women's World's Champion Asuka defend their title that night. Right now the leading contenders for the title matches are the NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Big Van Vader & NWA Women's World's Champion Mschif respectively.
Walking out with a huge grin is manager 'Playboy' Gary Hart with NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Big Van Vader. Hart says the NWA made the match with the right man as the challenger -- Big Van Vader. Seth Rollins is a great wrestler. But not in the same league as Big Van Vander. So come Sept. 29, there will be a new MSD World's Heavyweight Champion. And that man is your current NWA World's Heavyweight Champion -- Vader. You can make book on it Solie & Caudle. They leave.
Solie runs down tonight's matches which including a single match between Bob Backlund & Bruiser Brody then later on a challenge match requested by 'Grizzly' Smith for a match with Ole Anderson. Ole was the one who injured Smith's tag team partner 'Big' Luke Brown at the ppv two weeks ago. We will also have several interviews on today's show.
Let's go tothe ring with our announcer Mike McGuirk for the first match on today's show.
Match 1. Mixed Men-Woman Tag Team Match. Sam Houston & Rockin Robin debut & defeat 'Nature' Boy' Buddy Landell & Liv Morgan (8:52). Robin pins Morgan following the bulldog. Buddy & Sam were going at it outside the ring during the pin.
Following the match, NWA Women's World's Champion Mschif joins Gordon & Bob at the desk to talk about MUW Women's Champion Asuka who is coming to defend the title against her. She is familar with Asuka & the NWA champ talks about the skills & toughness of Asuka. It's going to be a great match & one she fells she can win. Without any announcement, out walks Su Yung (looking like a zombie-ghost) wanders during the interview starring wildly at everyone. Mschif says this not the Su Yung she know from a few years ago. Su walks up to the champ pointing to her belt then pretending she is putting it on. Su Yung then walks off as Gordon takes us to commercial.
Commercial break includes an interview with newcomer 'Hacksaw' Butch Reed on pursuing the champion ship titles in the NWA
Before the beginning of the next match, Bob Backlund is with Solie & Caudle to talk about getting a match with 'Bruiser' Brody on today's show. Brody distracted him in his match with Vader on the last ppv & he is getting the chance to get even with the big man from Texas.
Match 2. Single Match. 'Bruiser' Brody beat Bob Backlund with a knee drop to the chest. (7:13).
Bob didn't waste time & went on the offense early against the bigger Brody. However, Bruiser got a few big blows on Bob & the pin fall victory was soon to follow
Commercial break includes interview with 'the Beautiful People (Angelina Love, Madison Sky & Velvet Sky) on the competition in the NWA, specifically US Women's Champion Taryn Terrll as well as the Canadian Ninjas
Match 3. Non-Title Single Match. World's Junior Heavyweight Champion Danny Hodge abeat 'Superstar' Bill Dundee with the abomible stretch. (7:55). The cocky Aussie tried matching Hodge hold for hold then resorted to short cuts. All that did was make the champion more determined to beat Dundee for the 1-2-3.
After the match, Hodge joins Gordon & Bob to talk to Solie & Caudle about facing the United States Junior Heavyweight Champion Tony Charles in the future.
Commercial break includes interview with Stan 'the Lariat' Hansen on going after Vader & the dissention between him & Brody
Match 4. Non-Title 4 Man Tag Team Match. NWA World Tag Team Champions the Minnesota Wrecking Crew (Gene & Lars Anderson) w/Ole Anderson defeated Badd Attitude (David Young & Rick Michaels) in a battle of heels. (8:52). Badd Attitude does well the opening minutes, double teaming on Gene, but with Ole outside the ting it is too much of a distraction. Lars pins Young following the Anderson arm breaker.
Commercial break includes interview with United States Tag Team Champions the Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) on their feud with Col. JC Dykes & the Masked Infernos
Match 5. Challenge SIngle Match. 'Grizzly' Smith lost by disqualification to Ole Anderson after 'Grizz' refused to break the bear hug he had Ole in. (6:51). Rough match with both men close to getting disqualified but didn't until the end. Smith refused to break the bear hug after the bell. The other Andersons hit the ring to attack 'Grizzly' followed by US Heavyweight Champ 'Cowboy' Bill Watts & Wahoo McDaniel to even the odds.
Commercial break includes interview with 'the Universal Heart throb' Austin Idol who introduces his new valet -- Gorgeous George (Stephanie Bellars) who says she is going to protect the Idol's interests
Gordon & Bob run down the action on today's show. They conclude the show saying their will have taped interviews next week with Seth Rollins & Asuka. See you next week.
