ECW Heatwave! Live from Globe Theatre in Los Angeles, California
"WELCOME TO HEATWAVE!" Tony Schiavone exclaims out in excitement, alongside Joel Gertner who is equally as excited as both men run down the card for the first PPV of this new inception of ECW, with their own view and sidepoint on the matches, both men usually split between the face or heel winning. Schiavone then goes on to say that Paul Heyman put together a great show for these loyal extremists, all gathered up, ready to go for the first ECW PPV. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Lance Storm (1999)Starting up in a very live crowd was the debut of Japanese sensation and superstar, Hiroshi Tanahashi. The fans chanted along "GO ACE!" before the match even began, playing onto Tanahashi's popularity in Japan. The match began and it was a very technical match, not something you'd usually see in ECW. Storm stopped a Boston Crab he had very tightly locked in on Tanahashi, to tell the fans to shut up, obviously frustrated by the chants. Unfortunately, letting the fans get the best of him led to Storm walking straight into a stiff slap to the face by Tanahashi, and allowed for Tanahashi to hit a chain of moves. After countering a superkick attempt from Storm, Tanahashi nailed Storm with a slingblade, then rolled out the ring to climb up and nail him with a picture-perfect High Fly Flow for the win. KUSHIDA vs. KENTAStraight from the get go, this was a very stiff match. KENTA unleashed a bunch of stiff strikes that we hadn't seen him use in awhile. KUSHIDA was very wore down in the opening minutes of the match, but that didn't stop him from coming back with his own strikes. After countering a roundhouse kick from KENTA, KUSHIDA lifted KENTA up for a Backdrop Suplex, changing the tide of the match very heavily. KUSHIDA then began to rain down strikes on a grounded KENTA, using his MMA style to assist him. After catching KENTA's Busaiku Knee, KUSHIDA tried to flip him to his feet for a Back to the Future, but KENTA sprung out and roundhouse kicked KUSHIDA to a kneel, and then hit another one to knock him down for a bare two count. KENTA rose to his feet, grabbing KUSHIDA by the arm and then hoisting him on his shoulders, proclaiming the end. A GTS is very narrowly blocked by KUSHIDA, who catches KENTA's leg, and then shoves him away to hit his trademark Masahiro Tanaka punch. KUSHIDA realizing he can't pin KENTA down, grabs his arm and locks in the Hoverboard Lock, in which forcing an unwilling KENTA to tap out to the well-placed submission hold. After the match is over, we are treated to an interview with Tony Schiavone and the Hart Foundation. Schiavone asks the Foundation (with new member Brian Pillman Sr.) which combo it will be facing The Rascalz tonight, and Teddy just replies with saying "you'll have to wait and see." The Foundation then take turns talking about how Rascalz will be decimated, and how they'll reign as the first ever ECW World Tag Team Champions. Chris Hero vs. Baron CorbinAs soon as the match begins, Corbin paces around the ring, doing what ever he can to avoid Hero, getting under the ropes, rolling out of the ring. Due to this match not having the usual ECW rules, instead following the regular one on one rules for the TV title, Corbin slithers around as much as he can to avoid Hero. Hero grows frustrated, and annoyed by the fact the referee won't just let him at Corbin. When Hero has his back turned, looking to the fans, Corbin finally rolls in, and Hero knows Corbin's in, and nails him with a Rolling Elbow! Hero with the cover! One! Two! Three! Corbin can't believe it! The fans can't believe it! Hero just nailed Corbin with a Rolling Elbow before Corbin could get any moves in! Corbin yells to the fans, who are chanting inappropiate words at him, and yelling at his own expense. Corbin screams at the referee, while Hero stands on the stage, his theme playing, celebrating his victory and being able to shut up Corbin. Hart Foundation (Brian Pillman Jr and Teddy Hart) w/ Davey Boy Smith Jr and Brian Pillman Sr vs. Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Desmond Xavier) w/ Zachary Wentz - ECW World Tag Team ChampionsStraight from the beginning, this was a fast paced match as both members of each team wanted to prove to these fans why they are the best tag team in ECW right now. This match had the usual ECW rules, so weapons were incorporated, amping up the intensity and craziness of this match up to 100. Once the Rascalz were on fire, there was no letting down. Dive after dive, high spot after high spot, they really had got the fans on their side. After Miguel hit a top rope Meteora on Pillman Jr, his father came in with a steel chair, only for Pillman Sr to eat a superkick with the chair in his face by Zachary Wentz. The match went just as fine after that, but in the end, the superior ability of the Hart Foundation and added occasional outside interference gave them the win, after they hit the Doomsday (Canadian) Destroyer on Miguel for the win as wlel as becoming the first ever ECW World Tag Team Champions in this new inception. Sabu vs Hayabusa - FMW Rules DeathmatchThis was a violent match, and rightfully so. The statement "FMW rules" meant barbed wire, explosions, and many more messed up weapons thrown in, with each men being bruised and battered with each blown being hit and taken throughout the match. As the match went on, they continued to bleed, but neither Sabu or Hayabusa stopped. This was a continuation of the few sequences they had in the fatal four way on the second episode of ECW Hardcore TV, but this time around there was no two other men or even a ref to stop them. All the ref had to do was count the finishing pin of the match. If you're into extreme, violent deathmatches, this was the absolute match for you as a bloodbath was left in the ring. In the end, after using an Arabian Press off the ropes with a chair wrapped in barbed wire in his hands, Sabu took the win over Hayabusa in Hayabusa's own home court match up. Joey Janela vs Jerry Lynn - ECW World Championship
You'd think many matches would struggle following that previous one up, but not this one. The fans were ready for a great main event to cap up this good first PPV of ECW, and that's exactly what Lynn and Janela did. As soon as the bell rang, they went at it, blow after blow, shot after shot. Weapons were incorporated early, and played to a big factor to Janela quick in the match, but years of experience didn't stop Jerry Lynn, who gave Janela a hard beating, including a brutal chair shot to the head. However, Janela can dish back as much as he takes, and left Lynn starstruck after he got up after some brutal chair shots, delivering a few of his own. Janela and Lynn brawled as the match got closer to the end, and both men were slowly turning into bloody messes. There wasn't much blood, but there was a lot of bruises and welts that can be displayed by both men after the match. The turning point was when Janela ducked a chair shot attempt from Jerry Lynn, superkicked the chair in Lynn's face, leading for him to fall on a set up table, and that's all Janela needed to do. He climbed up a ladder set up earlier, rose amongst the people so they could all chant his catchphrase: "I'M A BAD.... BAD.... BOY!" and a deafening pop heard the moment his feet left the ladder, catapulting him in the air for a Deathdefying Elbow Drop off the ladder to Lynn straight through the table, alloiwng for Janela to pin Lynn for one two three and become the NEW ECW World Champion. The crowd was loud, and Janela managed to get to his feet, grabbing the ECW World Championship and raising it, as his dream all his life had somehow come true, when he expected it to stay dead for ever. Janela stood on top over Jerry Lynn, in front of all the people chanting his name and giving him his well deserved respect, and all you see as the show cuts to an end is Janela with the ECW World Championship, with the fans cheering and chanting for him.

A little late to the party on this one, but I just wanted to say I loved the mix of action here and it's really cool to see Janela go over in the end. Great first PPV outing here.

I thought for sure I left feedback on this show. Sorry man.
Awesome show man. Perfect first champion in the Bad Boy! He would have been a star with ECW. You should sign Enzo to get his ass kicked by Janela. Lol
Awesome show man. Really enjoying your take on E-Cee-Dub!
Also love putting the straps on this new version of the Hart Foundation.
