AEW Dynamite
June 20, 2019
Live from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia
The scene opens to AEW CEO and President Tony Khan sitting backstage in his office. A look of concern is on Khan’s face as he begins to speak to the audience at home and in attendance.
“So obviously, there’s been a lot of questions. Honestly, there’s been more questions asked of me than I have answers. However, I do know this. Last week at the end of Dynamite, I was put in a very compromising situation. A certain man - if he’s a man at all - named Killer Kross decided to use his fear tactics against me. And, well, it worked.”
Khan rubs the sweat off his forehead, seemingly nervous just talking about Kross.
“As a result, our first AEW World Championship match will feature Killer Kross taking on Kenny Omega. While Omega is certainly a worthy challenger, Killer Kross has not proven himself to be among the elite in this business. But, he got what he wanted and that’s a shot at the title. As a result, I have two orders of business to announce.
First, I cannot remove Kross from the match as his name has already been added to it, but that doesn’t mean I can’t add a third participant to the match. Tonight, we will have an elimination style gauntlet match. The winner will be the third participant in the first AEW championship match at Double or Nothing.
Second, I want to announce that in order to prevent these types of situations from occurring in the future, I will be searching for a new authority figure to uphold my vision for this company while I continue to work behind the scenes. I will be making my decision in the upcoming weeks. Without further ado, enjoy the show!”
Match 1
Ace Romero v. Rhino
Both big men get into a big exchange of power moves early on. Romero impresses the crowd with his strength and his agility as he performs moves such as a drop kick and flying splash from the top rope. Rhino fights back but a failed belly to belly allows Romero to find the opening and hit a huge Pounce on Rhino for the win.
Winner: Ace Romero by pinfall
COMMERCIAL BREAK
oVe is backstage talking trash on the AEW tag teams. They hype their match with the Motor City Machine Guns and claim this is the first step in their takeover of AEW.
Match 2
Beth Phoenix v. Gail Kim
Both women lock up and engage in chain wrestling. Beth attempts to use her power to her advantage but Gail’s craftiness gains her the mid match advantage as she displays impressive high risk manaeuvers. However, this is not enough to topple the AEW Women’s Champion as The Glamazon executes the Glam Slam with perfection and earns herself a win over Gail Kim.
Winner: Beth Phoenix by pinfall
Accompanied by the strum of an acoustic guitar (in E minor, of course) the image above flashes on the screen with the words “COMING SOON.”
We see a shot of Kenny Omega in a video that was filmed earlier in the day. Omega talks about facing Killer Kross for the AEW World Championship and then talks about a third man being entered into the match. Kenny says ultimately, he hopes the best man wins but he knows that man will not be Killer Kross, because he simply isn’t among the elite in the business. Kenny promises that he will do everything he can do to win the championship in order to keep it from the hands of evil.
Match 3
PCO v. Malcom Holliday (local talent)
Both men are in the ring as the bell sounds. Brody King and James Mitchell are standing on the outside of the mat as his fellow Kross Kult brother PCO hypes himself up in the ring. Local talent Malcom Holliday looks confused by the odd behavior of King and PCO. Like a freight train, PCO runs at Holliday and begins annihilating him. The crowd boos as PCO continues to decimate the kid and Atlanta’s own. Brody King pounds the ring mat looking on from the outside. After a big powerbomb, PCO climbs to the top and hits the moonsault for the dominant victory.
Winner: PCO by pinfall
After the match, King climbs into the ring with Mitchell and stand tall with PCO as the three pledge allegiance to their leader, Killer Kross.
Backstage, Cody is standing by. He looks into the camera and begins to explain that a dark and evil presence has fallen upon AEW and its name is the Kross Kult. He says that he will be in the gauntlet match tonight and hopes to stand across the ring from Kross and Omega. Cody says he loves sharing a ring with Omega and that he would love to make sure that Kross never works another match in AEW. He says come hell or high water, he will do everything he can to extinguish the poison that is the Kross Kult.
COMMERCIAL BREAK
We come back from commercial break and find AEW National Champion Brian Cage standing in the ring.
Cage talks about his upcoming match with Mike Elgin at AEW Double Or Nothing. He claims that he’s been through hell to get to this point in his career and that nobody, not even Big Mike himself, will stop him from holding on to this championship for months to come.
Match 4
“The American Psycho” Lance Archer v. Joey Ryan
Joey Ryan lays across the top rope as he enjoys a cherry flavored Blowpop. Archer looks disgusted and demands Ryan take him seriously. Joey smirks and says “ok, buddy” as he hops off the rope and puts his lollipop back into his trunks. Both men lock up and it’s Archer with the quick advantage over Ryan. Joey tries to fight back and also attempts to entice Archer to feel his “power” but Archer smacks Ryan into oblivion. Archer hits the inverted crucifix powerbomb for the win over the lascivious Joey Ryan.
Winner: “The American Psycho” Lance Archer by pinfall
Match 5
MCMG v. oVe (Jake and Dave Crist)
At the start of the match, Sabin uses his speed advantage over Jake Crist to nail some high risk offense, much to the crowds delight! As Sabin continues working over Jake Crist, Callihan hops on the apron to distract the referee. The crowd reigns down boos as Jake hits a low blow on Sabin while the ref’s back is turned! Jake makes the desperately needed tag to Dave as Shelley pleads with the referee to pay attention to the match. Dave continues working over Sabin who needs the tag to his partner Shelley. He finally gets the tag and Alex Shelley comes in red-hot! The crowd comes unglued as the high octane style of Alex Shelley rocks Dave Crist. However, it’s another distraction by Callihan that allows Dave Crist to roll Shelley up for the pin. Dave has a handful of tights! Despite this, the ref makes the count.
Winners: oVe (Jake and Dave Crist) by pinfall
After the match, the Crists retreat with Callihan who is proud of his boys. The Guns look on from the ring, disappointed and pissed off at the tactics displayed by oVe.

Match 6
Gauntlet Match
Winner Earns Spot in AEW World Championship Match
Jay White v. Matt Morgan v. Adam Page v. Cody v. Moose
“Switchblade” Jay White is first in the ring along with Matt Morgan. Morgan uses his tremendous size advantage to ground the crafty Switchblade. Both men go back and forth for a few minutes hitting their signature moves. However, it’s Matt Morgan with the Hellevator who manages to eliminate Jay White! Out next is “Hangman” Adam Page who has been impressing wrestling fans around the world as of late. Page and Morgan waste no time as Page has something to prove and Morgan wants to keep his momentum alive. Morgan keeps Page at bay with a series of moves including a big boot and powerslam. Hangman regains his composure and begins to laying into Matt Morgan. Morgan attempts to get the Hellevator on Page, but Page rolls up Morgan for the elimination! The crowd pops as Hangman looks ecstatic. Morgan nods and smirks as he recognizes that Page’s technique got the better of him. The big man Moose is out next to a chorus of boos from the crowd. Page brushes his hair out of his face as Moose comes in with a wild clothesline that misses. Page begins to light up Moose with a flurry of shots. Page continues to assert his dominance for several minutes until the tides change courtesy of a BRAINBUSTER from Moose! Both men continue to brawl as the momentum shifts in each mans favor several times. Page drops Moose with a dropkick and goes to the ring apron. As Moose recovers, Page flips into the ring with the BUCKSHOT LARIAT! He covers Moose for the 3 count and Moose is eliminated! Last but not least, out next is Cody to a HUGE ovation from the crowd! This is Cody’s first match since Killer Kross’s vicious attack on him several weeks ago. Hangman and Cody shake hands as they begin a series of impressive moves including some chain wrestling. Hangman looks gassed from defeating his previous opponents and Cody is well rested after recovering from injury. Cody takes advantage of Hangman’s fatigue and wears him down some more. Cody sees a big opening after a failed Buckshot Lariat from Page, and hooks it in...AND NAILS THE CROSS RHODES! Cody covers Hangman! 1! 2! 3!
Winner and the third entrant in the AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing: Cody
Cody is exhausted as Hangman Page definitely put him through hell to earn the victory. Cody celebrates as the crowd is on their feet. Cody has not only successfully returned from injury but has managed to secure himself a spot in the AEW World Championship match!
Suddenly, the lights in the arena dim as a sinister rock tune begins to play over the PA System.
Killer Kross stands on the stage and motions to Cody that it’s only a matter of time - and time is ticking. Kross laughs and shakes his head, almost feeling bad for Cody because of what Kross is planning on doing to him and Omega both at Double or Nothing. Cody motions around his waist that he will become the first ever AEW World Champion as this weeks episode of Dynamite comes to an end.
