The show opens with
Mauro Renallo,
Steve Corino, and
Lita all welcoming the viewership, as they run down the card for the evening. They talk about how Asuka won the World Women's title at GWA's "Endgame" PPV, and now Kairi Sane has a much different challenge than Charlotte Flair to contend with if she wants to make that reign a very short one. They also go into the International title matches, with friends facing off to settle who the best is, as Naito defends his championship against Ibushi; we will also see the impressive ring veteran Natalya try to take the championship from the crafty Mayu Iwatani tonight. In other action, Hiroshi Tanahashi has put his contract on the line in a tag team match, as he teams with Juice Robinson to take on Pete Dunne and Buddy Murphy. If the team of Tanahashi and Juice win, Dunne and Murphy will be banned from competing in Japan for the rest of their careers.
And, with that, we head to the ring, where
Jeremy Borash is standing in, ready to introduce our first two competitors.
Singles Match
"Mad Dog" Oney Lorcan vs. Zack Sabre Jr.This was a very hot opener, as we saw the debuting ZSJ taking on "Mad Dog" in a stiff back and forth mat war. These two would trade some brutal shots, as both men like to use the European uppercut, while Sabre looked to kick Lorcan out of the match and Lorcan looked to chop Sabre into oblivion. Lorcan would land some big offense in the ring, delivering a Bridging German Suplex for a two count, before blasting Sabre with a dropkick to send him to the outside. From there, Lorcan hit the first real high spot of the night, flipping over the ropes to smash Sabre, showing his aerial ability. Lorcan would live up to his nickname, attacking Sabre relentlessly, but Sabre would manage to use that zeal to his advantage, catching Lorcan's arm as he attempted a Lariat and spinning over him and capturing him with a Cross Armbar to secure the submission victory!
Winner by Submission: Zack Sabre Jr.
Singles Match
Dakota Kai vs. "The Alpha Female" Jazzy GabertKai managed to score a win for her and partner Xia Brookside over Gabert and her partner Emma at a recent live event, leading "The Alpha Female" to assault her with a chair and make this challenge. Kai was more than game to give Gabert a fight, and she really impressed in her showing here tonight. Kai is a very keen striker and was able to deal a lot of damage to "The Alpha Female", but the strength and brawn of Jazzy proved to be a lot to handle. Gabert would manage to block an attempt from Kai to hit her TTYL, and reversed an attempt at the Kai-ropractor, delivering a Chokeslam, followed by a Torture Rack she used to try to break Kai in half to get the submission win!
Winner by Submission: "The Alpha Female" Jazzy Gabert Very strong showing from Gabert here and it- wait a minute!
Renallo is going nuts on commentary, as into the ring slides a blonde woman wearing ring gear... OH! HUGE HAYMAKER TO THE FACE "THE ALPHA FEMALE" AND SHE GOES DOWN! The blonde stands above Gabert and extends her hand, patiently waiting for a microphone as the crowd is buzzing. Once she receives the microphone, the lady proclaims, "My name is
Lacey Evans, and you will all know me as 'The Lady of Prestige Pro Wrestling'... and I'm here to rid my beautiful ring of nasties like the so-called 'Alpha Female'."
Lacey delicately places the mic on the mat and then steps on Gabert's back as she is trying to get up on the mat, making her exit as the fans give her a less than positive reaction.
Singles Match
ACH vs. Drew GulakACH is a marvelous athlete and very charismatic, but he was dealing with a very fired up Drew Gulak tonight. Gulak felt like he was inches away from defeating Kota Ibushi at a recent live event, and looked to make the most of this opportunity to shine. ACH would try to use his speed to overcome Gulak, but Drew seemed to have the answers with his gruff and punishing style, and would manage to catch ACH flying in mid-air with a Backbreaker variation before locking on his Beast Choker submission to get the win.
Winner by Submission: Drew Gulak
Tag Team Match
Andrade "Cien" Almas & "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze w/ Zelina Vega vs. Apollo Crews & KalistoCrews and Kalisto made for a very interesting pairing, with the power and agility of Crews matching well with the speed and tenacity of Kalisto. Almas and Breeze were more experienced as a team, though, and seemed to have a well thought out game plan. Kalisto already proved he could beat these two in six man action, but this match was a little different, as Zelina Vega managed to take Kalisto mask from a young child at ringside and threw at Kalisto to distract him long enough for Almas to come up behind him and deliver the Brillante Driver, rolling Kalisto up and holding the tights for the three count!
Winners by Pinfall: Andrade "Cien" Almas & "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze Corino applauds Almas and Breeze on commentary as they smile and slither like snakes back to the back, knowing they managed to steal one tonight. Corino says it's that kind of killer instinct that is going to get these guys ahead. Lita says that they might be riding high now after that win, but the fall is going to be that much harder when their actions come back to haunt them.
Singles Match
Io Shirai vs. Ruby RiottThis was a fierce contest, as Riott has a knack for rubbing people the wrong way and this was no different. Shirai is one of the best pound for pound stars on the planet, and her aerial skills are a thing of beauty, but Riott is pure venom and was very stiff in this contest. Riott tried to waste no motion in taking Shirai down and keeping her down, locking her up in facelocks and kicking her before trying to work over the leg with a Half Crab and an Indian Deathlock. Shirai would manage to speed things up again and send Riott to the outside with a headscissors, before delivering a beautiful Moonsault onto Riott, crushing her on the floor! Riott would manage to regain control on the outside, smashing Shirai into the guardrail before delivering a Snap Suplex into the steel! She wasn't done, however, as she pulled up the mat on the outside and proceeded to deliver a Piledriver onto the concrete, which lead to Shirai bleeding from her head! Riott thought she had this match over, and went looking for the Riott Act, only to have Shirai counter into a roll-up to get the pinfall!
Winner by Pinfall: Io Shirai Ruby Riott looked pissed and went to the outside, where she grabbed a steel chair and slid into the ring, looking like she might take it out on Shirai, but out to the ring ran
Mia Yim!
"The H.B.I.C." would tackle Riott down and lay into her with fists! Both women would get up, but Yim would grab the chair and Riott would duck out under the ropes to avoid any further damage. Yim would hold onto the chair, staring at Riott on the outside as Shirai approached... only to turn and WHACK SHIRAI WITH THE CHAIR! The fans turn on Yim at once, booing loudly as Yim looks enraged on the inside. Riott looks like she might get back into the ring, but Yim threatens her, before grabbing a microphone.
"I will do whatever it takes... WHATEVER IT TAKES... to prove I'm the head bitch in charge around here, and if that means taking YOU out Riott, or if they means taking this little bitch's head right here, I'm gonna do it! I am better than her, I am better than YOU, and I am better than Kairi Sane or any other bitch on this roster... or ANY ROSTER... and I will get my respect, and I'll take blood if I have to to get it."
Yim throws down the microphone and poses for the crowd, who boo her even more now, but she doesn't seem to care.
Tag Team Match
Buddy Murphy & "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne vs. "The Ace of the Universe" Hiroshi Tanahashi & "The Flamboyant" Juice RobinsonWe had a very spirited contest on our hands here, as you have three of the top young talents in PPW doing battle, with an absolute legend in their midst who was fighting for his position on the roster. While it would be a point of embarrassment for Murphy and Dunne to be banned from Japan, it would be very dishonorable for Tanahashi to lose his PPW contract to these two, who he started off this match with no respect for. By the end, I think it was very hard for anyone to argue that Buddy Murphy and Pete Dunne had earned the respect of just about anybody, including Tanahashi, with the performance they put on. The striking, the power, and the intensity of Buddy Murphy is just unreal, and he looked like he might be the best wrestler on the planet here tonight when matching Robinson and Tanahashi blow for blow, counter for counter, delivering powerbombs, superkicks, kneestrikes, and anything else he could to try to take out his popular foes. And on the other hand, you have Pete Dunne, who is a fantastic all around talent, but the guy is just built to inflict pain, it's just part of his psyche. Whether he needs to or not, he takes the low road, he takes the cheap shots, he attacks the small joints, and he is absolutely vicious. And across the ring, you have a work horse and truly charismatic genius in the ring that is Juice Robinson pulling the fans in, bringing the energy, kicking out of everything, hitting his opponents with high impact moves and making key saves, as his partner is fighting for what feels like his life here. And, the man who needs no introduction, Tanahashi, who just brings such a pride, a dignity, and desperation towards this match, constantly trying to keep it going, trying to find that next gear, the right answer, going to the bag of tricks, thrusting himself out of the ring, off the ropes, pulling his opponents into suplexes, smashing them to the mat with everything he's got... but it's not enough. Buddy Murphy is able deliver a Rotating Powerbomb to Tanahashi, folding him up and them rolling him, grabbing him by the arms as Dunne runs off the ropes, and they deliver tandum kneestrikes to the face and then back of the head of "The Ace". Juice Robinson manages to hit the ring and takedown Dunne with a Running Palmstrike, and then avoids a Bicycle Knee from Murphy, delivering a kick and trying for Pulp Friction, but Murphy escapes and delivers a series of strikes to Juice, but Juice avoids another kneestrike, only to get caught with an Enzugiri, followed by a Release German Suplex into the turnbuckles! Tanahashi is pulling himself back up in the opposite turnbuckles, but Murphy fires in and delivers a Kneestrike, smashing him into the buckles, before pulling him out and delivering MURPHY'S LAW! Tanahashi is down and Murphy hooks the leg, and it's all over! Buddy Murphy has put an end to Hiroshi Tanahashi here in
Prestige Pro Wrestling!Winners by Pinfall: Buddy Murphy & "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne After the match, Tanahashi gets emotional, as he is embraced by Juice Robinson. Murphy and Dunne stand in the ring, with Murphy looking pretty satisfied, while Dunne has a narrow look on his face. Murphy offers his hand to Tanahashi, thanking him for the opportunity and it is accepted! Dunne blasts past them, however, and attacks Juice Robinson with a BRUTAL FOREARM STRIKE! Dunne lays the boots to Robinson, which leads Tanahashi to push off, and now we have security hitting the ring! Juice is back up and trying to go after Dunne!
This leads none other than the General Manager of
Prestige Pro Wrestling to make his way out, as we see
William Regal step out onto the ramp to cheers from the audience!
Regal first takes the opportunity to thank Hiroshi Tanahashi, and the fans all give him another great ovation. Regal then moves on to say that Dunne is a miserable bloke, but he has been very impressive here in
Prestige Pro Wrestling and he clearly wants a shot at something bigger. Likewise, he says Juice Robinson has proven to be one of the best, most exciting up and comers in wrestling, and he too deserves a chance at something bigger. That being said, he says at their next show in Melbourne, Australia, entitled
"Downfall", Dunne and Robinson will be facing off one on one to determine who will be next challenger for the PPW International championship!
This gets a solid reaction from the crowd, as both Robinson and Dunne look excited at the prospect of getting to tear into one another and for a good reason.
Regal goes on to address Buddy Murphy, who he says has been absolutely outstanding. He says he's shown a lot to himself and all of these fans here, but he's seen a lot of great competitors here in PPW giving their all, and that's why at
"Downfall", we will have a six man elimination match to decide who will face the MUW World Heavyweight champion in Brisbane, Australia, at the next event,
"Era of Excellence". He says Murphy has earned his spot, while others will be announced via social media in the coming weeks.
And with that, we go back to the announcer's table as they try to digest everything that just happened there. Lots of huge developments, and lot's to talk about, but it's time to get back to the action.
PPW International Women's Title
Singles Match
Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. "The Dungeon Diva" NatalyaThere was a sense of arrogance coming from Natalya here, as she felt like she had some clear advantages over Iwatani in size, experience, and maybe technical expertise. None of that really mattered, as Mayu is very crafty and versatile, and showed without a doubt that she can hang on the mat and also deliver quite the punch when she needs to from a striking perspective. By the end, it was Mayu who was showing some arrogance and swagger, mocking Natalya and goading her to bring it on as Natalya was clearly reeling. Nattie would manage to escape an attempt at a Dragon Suplex by Mayu and try to deliver a Discus Lariat, only to get caught with a Reverse Huracanrana, followed by a Bridging Dragon Suplex, and it was all over! Mayu Iwatani once again defends her championship, and this Tokyo crowd is giving her a lot of respect and praise here tonight!
Winner by Pinfall, and STILL PPW International Women's Champion: Mayu Iwatani Mayu grabs a microphone and has this to say: "I have overcome everyone put in my way and I have defended this championship, time and time again, but these petty women... they refuse to respect me! Now I see the fighting earlier in the night, with this girl or that one trying to act tough, but I AM THE CHAMPION! YOU WANT TO FIGHT, FIGHT ME! You cowards can all come at me, I WILL NOT BACK DOWN AND I WILL NOT SURRENDER MY TITLE!"
Mayu throws down the microphone and poses again, yelling out to the crowd as her music plays and the fans give her a nice ovation. Lita on commentary says that she has never seen the champion so fierce, and she thinks it's really gotten under her skin that she feels overlooked by the rest of the women on the roster. She feels like she should be the target, and Lita says she thinks a lot of ears probably perked up in the women's locker room with that message.
PPW International Title
Singles Match
"The Golden Star" Kota Ibushi vs. "Reckless Genius" Tetsuya Naito (c)This Korakuen crowd was hot for this one, as two of the absolute best in the world squared off here in a battle of pride. The two shook hands at the beginning of the match, but it only took Naito about one second afterwards to shoot down and try to take out Ibushi's leg, setting the tone early. There would be no quarter here, and Naito wanted to take out the wheels of Ibushi early, a popular strategy against the fast and furious star. Ibushi is a very gifted wrestler all around, so he was willing to play Naito's game early, but once he managed to untangle himself from Naito, things really started to heat up. Ibushi would manage to land some big shots, getting an early two count with a Roundhouse Kick/Standing Moonsault combo, but the tides would turn back and forth many times throughout the course of this match. Ibushi would head to the apron, thinking high risk, but Naito would manage to throw himself onto the top rope and knock Ibushi back down awkwardly to the apron. Naito would then manage to hit a version of his Destino off the apron to the floor to the amazement of the crowd! Naito would then go ahead and hit a variation of his Gloria slam right on top of the announcer's table! Naito would try to get Ibushi back into the ring, but Ibushi would blast Naito with a striking combination, ending in a Lariat that flattened Naito out over the announcer's table! Ibushi would lay into him with a few right hands before rolling into the ring. Ibushi would look out to the crowd before grabbing the top rope and springboarding, soaring through the air with a 450 SPLASH ONTO NAITO OUT OF THE RING AND THROUGH THE ANNOUNCER'S TABLE! MAURO RENALLO IS GOING INSANE ON COMMENTARY, AS WE HAVE JUST WITNESSED INSANITY! Ibushi is clearly hurt by this, maybe as much Naito, as these two take their time getting back to their feet and out of the wreckage, allowing the fans and the commentary team to catch their breath for a moment. Ibushi grabs the champion and tries to send him back into the ring, but Naito shows a burst of energy and delivers a German Suplex on the floor, and Ibushi sells like death! Naito slowly pulls himself up on the ring apron and up the turnbuckles, measuring up Ibushi, who is pulling himself up on the ring apron now. Naito jumps, spinning, and launches himself off the top with a CORKSCREW MOONSAULT TO THE OUTSIDE, WIPING OUT IBUSHI, AND THE FANS GO CRAZY AGAIN! There guys are going all out, and we've got an instant classic on our hands here, folks! Naito rolls Ibushi back into the ring and then heads up to the top turnbuckle again. Ibushi manages to get to his feet and he cuts off Naito on the top and we have a struggle. Ibushi gets the better of it after a vicious headbutt, before grabbing Naito up into a package sort of position... Oh my God... AVALANCHE PHOENIX PLEX, NAITO IS
CRUSHED ONTO THE BACK OF HIS NECK! Naito is rolling on the mat as Ibushi tries to gather his bearings, and Ibushi finally manages to pin down the champion... ONE... TWO... THR-NO! Foot on the ropes by Naito! Ibushi can't believe it! Ibushi gets up and motions to the crowd, drawing in energy, before laying into Naito, who's on his knees, with multiple shoot kicks to his chest! Ibushi goes for a shoot kick to his head, but Naito ducks, only to get caught with a kneestrike to the face as he lifts back up! Ibushi pulls Naito into position and goes up top. Ibushi, slowly but surely, gets prepared and blasts off with the PHOENIX SPLASH, but NO! Naito gets the knees up! Ibushi is hurting and Naito rushes, looking for the DESTINO, but REVERSAL! Ibushi blocks it and then tries to take his head off with a LARIAT! Ibushi rushes, hooking the leg, but NAITO KICKS OUT AT TWO! Ibushi pounds the mat, before grabbing Naito by the hair and pulling the champion up. He positions him and he's looking for the Golden Star Powerbomb. Ibushi lifts him up, Naito reverses it, landing behind and delivering a back elbow to his head, before grabbing him and drilling Ibushi to the mat with Gloria! Naito hooks the leg hard, thinking he's got it, but Ibushi kicks out at two and now it's Naito showing the frustration. The crowd is stomping and clapping now as both men struggle to their feet. Ibushi and Naito get to the center of the ring, forehead to forehead, and we see these two warriors open hand slapping each other in the face, before Ibushi turns to kicks. Naito delivers a basement dropkick to Ibushi, taking him down, before delivering a Rolling Wheel Kick as Ibushi tries to get back to his feet. Naito is calling for it and measuring Ibushi up, and then he rushes and tries to deliver Destino, but Ibushi turns at the last second and delivers a Roundhouse Kick, taking Naito down to all fours. Ibushi grabs Naito by the waist and tries to lift up with a Deadlift German Suplex, but Naito fights it and delivers a back elbow, followed by a forearm smash, staggering Ibushi and allowing Naito to run off the ropes... DESTINO! DESTINO! Naito drills him, and he hooks the leg, ONE, TWO, THREE! IT'S ALL OVER! Naito has retained!
Winner by Pinfall, and STILL PPW International Champion: "Reckless Genius" Tetsuya Naito The commentary team are beside themselves, as they have no table left and they just witnessed these two give everything they had for pride and the title. Naito holds his title in the middle of the ring, as Ibushi gathers himself. Ibushi walks to the center of the ring and after brief stare down, Ibushi grabs Naito's wrist and raises his hand as the fans applaud... but what's this!
OH!
PETE DUNNE HAS HIT THE RING, AND HE ATTACKS NAITO FROM BEHIND!
Dunne proceeds to deliver a massive Forearm Strike to Ibushi, sending him out of the ring, before he grabs Naito and pulls him up, delivering the BITTER END RIGHT ONTO THE FACE PLATE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP BELT! The champion is down, and Pete Dunne isn't done yet, as he stomps him into the mat. This leads
JUICE ROBINSON out with a chair, and he BLASTS DUNNE OVER THE HEAD WITH IT, SENDING DUNNE OUT OF THE RING, AND THE FANS ARE ON THEIR FEET, CHEERING FOR JUICE!
Dunne staggers back up the ramp holding his head and cursing Robinson, who lifts up Naito and pats him on the shoulder, raising his hand and telling him he will see him soon to take that belt from him in a confident, competitive manner.

Singles Match
"The Empress" Asuka (c) vs. "Pirate Princess" Kairi SaneThese fans have been through a lot tonight, so they weren't exactly as hot for this at the start as maybe they should have been, as these two women are among the most elite you're going to find anywhere, and this was certainly a trial by fire for new champion Asuka. Asuka was intense and tried to take her opponent down early, but the confident and cunning Sane would use her skills to reverse Asuka's advances and play mind games with her, smiling and brushing off her attempts at offense, before showboating to the crowd to get them behind her. Asuka would make Sane pay for her arrogance eventually, as she would wind up taking control and used her vicious arsenal of kicks to send a message to the nautical fanatic. Sane would manage to regain control with a whip reversal into a Spear to take Asuka out of the ring, leading Sane to deliver a Phenomenal Forearm to the outside, smashing Asuka into the floor! Asuka would regain control, delivering a Spinning Backfist, followed by multiple kicks to Sane's chest while she was pinned up against the guardrail, followed by a Running Hip Attack that smashed her into the guardrail in brutal fashion! "The Empress" would send Sane into the ring and roll in after her, measuring her up before attempting to deliver a Spin Kick to maybe end the match, but Sane would duck it and deliver a Spinning Backfist of her own, followed by a Running Blockbuster, which she attempted to cover after but only earned a two count! Sane would stomp around the ring in an exaggerated manner before running off the ropes and delivering the Sliding D to Asuka sitting on the mat, attempting yet another pinfall, but Asuka still managed to kick out! Sane would grab the champion and then lift her up, looking for the Alabama Slam, but Asuka would kick her feet repeatedly to throw off Sane's balance, before dropping down and attempting a Sunset Flip, only to have Sane break free and deliver a Double Stomp to her chest! Asuka would stumble back to her feet holding her chest, finding herself in the corner, which allowed "The Pirate Princess" to rush her and deliver a Running Avalanche Elbow, smashing the champion into the buckles! Sane rolls Asuka out of the corner and slaps the top turnbuckle, using her hand as a visor to look out and survey the crowd as they cheered her on in anticipation of the finish. Kairi would make her way to the top rope, and then measured Asuka up... INSANE ELBOWDRO- NO! Asuka shifts on the mat and catches Sane in a CROSS ARMBAR! Sane is flailing on the mat, clearly stunned and panicking, as the champion has her in a very bad posiiton! We witnessed Oney Lorcan tap to this very hold earlier in the night, and she looked like she might be the next victim of the hold, but there was too much on the line; too much to keep fighting for. Sane would manage to roll and fight, until she could lock her fingers and relieve some pressure. From there, Asuka tried to switch her hold into a Triangle Choke, but it was to no avail. Sane would use her power to lift Asuka up, before turning and diving, delivering a sort of Powerbomb variation into the buckles! Asuka is down, holding her neck against the buckles as Sane, looking winded, stumbles up before turning to Asuka and running, delivering another Sliding D to Asuka, smashing her into the bottom buckle! Sane goes to the apron, as Asuka rolls on the mat and tries to reach her feet. Asuka turns to Sane, and Sane pulls the top rope and flings herself up, flying into the ring towards Asuka, but ASUKA CATCHES HER IN MID-AIR WITH A SPIN KICK! SANE IS KNOCKED OUT COMPLETELY WITH THAT AS THESE FANS ARE ROARING ON THEIR FEET! Asuka falls back, hooking the leg half way, but it's enough... Asuka retains her championship!
Winner by Pinfall, and STILL MUW World Women's Champion: "The Empress" Asuka The show ends with the announce team marveling at the level of competition we saw tonight, and the fight these two women brought to the main event as they sign out and this concludes "Destiny 2019".
