AEW Dynamite
May 2, 2019
Live from the FedExForum in Memphis, TN
The scene opens up with the AEW Dynamite theme song playing in the background. In lieu of a fancy pyrotechnic display to open the show, we go straight to AEW’s commentators, Kevin Kelly and Don Callis.
“Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to AEW Dynamite. Before we kick off this great night of action, we do have a few updates from last week’s episode. Before we went off the air last week, it looked like we were about to get the dream match of Killer Kross versus Goldberg. Instead, what we got was Father James Mitchell leading PCO and Brody King to the ring to join Killer Kross in the annihilation of Bill Goldberg. We have learned that Goldberg has suffered multiple injuries at the hands of Kross and company and will be out of action for an undisclosed amount of time.”
“Kevin, I’ll tell you this, I’ve been around this crazy sport for years and I’ve seen some things that would make you cry. This tandem of Kross, PCO, and Brody King is quite possibly the most horrifying thing I’ve ever seen.”
“And we do know that Killer Kross, Brody King, PCO AND James Mitchell have been suspended for one week and will not be allowed in the arena tonight due to their heinous actions the past two weeks. Because---”
The lights in the arena go off and the crowd is left stunned, wondering what’s about to happen. Suddenly, the big screen shows Killer Kross standing in an undisclosed location.
“I was told that I was not allowed to enter the arena this evening. Sorry to disappoint you folks. Instead, I decided that it would be a travesty to forbid you from at least hearing my soothing voice as you all were expecting.”
Kross chuckles as an eerie feeling in the arena settles in.
“It’s okay, though. I wouldn’t want to let any of you down. Many of you must be wondering why I did what I did. Why does Killer Kross keep injuring talent? Why does Killer Kross continue to lay waste to our most beloved wrestlers in AEW? The answer is simple. Because I can. When I signed with All Elite Wrestling, I was promised no limitations. Maybe Tony and his dumb old daddy are having second thoughts. A wise man once said that life was nasty, brutish, and short. And despite living in the shadows of his fallen mother who died while giving birth to him, Thomas Hobbes was a man who was in tune with more than himself - he was in tune with the malevolent nature of society and the inherent flaws of mankind. I happen to share the same perspective as Mr. Hobbes. So, despite being promised that I could simply be myself as this society likes to encourage, why have we been forbidden entry into the arena? Why can’t I be there for my fans? Why does little Stevie in the third row have to suffer because he didn’t get to see his favorite wrestler up close and personal? Poor little guy got screwed by Mr. Khan, that’s why. But I’m sure I’m just boring you at this point, aren’t I?”
Kross smiles again as the darkened background comes to light. We see James Mitchell, Brody King, and PCO standing on the sides of Killer Kross. Front and center, Kross continues on.
“So why these men? To echo my previous sentiment, the answer is simple - because they get it. There aren’t many in life who share my ideas - my philosophy, if you will. Father James said it best when he urged you all to begin praying. He wasn’t lying, was he? Your precious Cody can’t even speak. His muffled, unintelligible speech makes him sound like the joke that he is. The conjugal fellowship he once shared with his wife has been destroyed by my hands. And Goldberg? I sent his ass back into a wheelchair where he belongs. A man driven by ego and adulation is incredibly passe in this industry, so good riddance to you, William.”
Kross strokes his chin for a moment, contemplating his next words. He holds up two pictures of Cody and Goldberg after his vicious attacks on them. He looks at the pictures and shrugs.
“I understand there are many more questions to be answered. However, I do not operate on society’s time - answers will be revealed on my watch. Such a virtuous collection of men do not have to act upon someone’s demands, despite with Tony Khan and his wrinkled father believe. So, with that said boys and girls, on behalf of myself and the rest of the Kross Kult...enjoy the show. Farewell. Tick-tock.”
Kross laughs maniacally as the rest of the Kross Kult look to their leader, showing approval of his dark and twisted sense of humor. The arena looks on in unrest, unsure of what they just heard.
“There you have it, Kevin. The Kross Kult! What a great name!”
“I don’t understand half of what he just said, Don. What is he talking about? Thomas Hobbes? What philosophy is Kross alluding to? And, why Cody and Goldberg? I don’t get any of this! This man is a complete psychopath. Folks, we need to regroup. We’ll be right back.”

Carlito v. Matt Riddle
In a match where both men feel like they have something to prove on a roster full of elite athletes, Riddle and Carlito don’t hold back as they land some stiff shots on each other. Riddle’s kicks echo throughout the arena but Carlito is able to absorb them and land precise offense of his own. After several attempts at a Backstabber, Riddle catches Carlito in a leg lock. Although Carlito made it to the ropes, the damage has been done. The crowd is firmly behind Riddle as the arrogant Carlito clutches to the ropes and keeps asking the ref to get Riddle away. Carlito turns the tides by pulling Riddle into the middle rope. After more offense from Carlito, he scores several near falls. The crowd is electric at this point, appreciating the high quality wrestling they are witnessing. It’s a devastating knee strike that Riddle calls the Final Flash that knocks Carlito out cold! COMMERCIAL BREAK
We come back from commercial and Tessa Blanchard is in the ring. Not only does she want to be AEW’s first Women’s Champion, she wants to get her hands on “The Glamazon” Beth Phoenix. She wants to answer from Beth on next week’s edition of Dynamite!
Match 4
Joey Ryan v. Mike Elgin v. Alberto Del Rio (#1 Contendership for the National Championship)
In a chaotic and high stakes match, Elgin, Ryan and Del Rio battle viciously to prove their value to the All Elite roster. Mike Elgin displays numerous feats of strength including pressing Del Rio over his head, and even powerbombing Joey Ryan to the outside of the ring! The crafty Del Rio is able to get the upper hand by wearing Elgin down. As Del Rio attempts to set Elgin up for the armbar, Elgin counters and delivers a massive Elgin Bomb but Joey Ryan is there to break it up! Joey Ryan ends up forcing himself onto Del Rio and Del Rio is AEW’s first victim of the Penisplex. Ultimately, Elgin delivers yet another Elgin Bomb to Joey Ryan for the victory at 13:52. Mike Elgin is the #1 Contender for Brian Cage’s AEW National Championship.
The crowd is still buzzing from the #1 Contendership match they just witnessed. They know that Dynamite will soon be coming to a close but have savored every minute of the show. Buzzing and wondering what’s next, suddenly, the lights in the arena dim as the fans turn their attention to the big screen. We hear a calm yet assertive voice as the screen begins crackling.
“You didn’t forget about me, did you?”
As the arena erupts in cheers, the AEW logo flashes across the screen as this episode of Dynamite is in the books. What will Sting’s impact in AEW be? Will we get more answers from the Kross Kult next week? Where does Kenny Omega fit into the All Elite landscape?
