The show begins backstage, where we see General Manager of
Prestige Pro Wrestling,
William Regal, who is sitting at his desk looking pleased.
The General Manager welcomes everyone to a new era in professional wrestling, as
Prestige Pro Wrestling is set for an "Awakening" tonight in Tokyo, Japan. He says from the ashes of Infinite Spirit comes the spirit of the future, as the future of professional wrestling can be glanced upon right here, in the rings of PPW. With name and brand like
Prestige comes a great responsibility; a responsibility to bring honor and integrity to this industry, and be the standard bearers for it. Regal assures the fans that they intend to live up to that responsibility, and what has been awakened within each wrestler here tonight and henceforth is nothing short of indomitable fighting spirit. He says with
Prestige, you will get entertainment value and your money's worth each and every time you pay for a ticket or tune into the show, and with that, let's get to the competition.
Regal makes a hand gesture and we cut to the opening graphics.
After the opening graphics and theme, we head to ringside, where we are joined by the voice of
Prestige Pro Wrestling,
Mauro Ranallo, along with his broadcast colleagues and wrestling legends,
Steve Corino and
Lita.
Mauro Ranallo welcomes the fans for what is sure to be an exciting and memorable night of action. He says that tonight is all about building momentum off of what took place at the final Infinite Spirit show, "Ascension", as we have title contenders looking to put themselves into the best position to take the World championship gold here in the Mash-Up Wrestling Universe. Mauro goes on to talk about next month, as "Destiny" will take place here once again in Tokyo, Japan, and will see Japan's own Kairi Sane competing for the honor of being the World Women's champion, a right she earned by beating two other women in a ladder match at "Ascension". The tour will continue on for the world conquering
Prestige Pro Wrestling as we then head to Australia for two shows, and followed finally by a show in New Zealand, where "Switchblade" Jay White will challenge for the World Heavyweight championship, an honor he earned much the same as Kairi Sane, defeating two other competitors in a ladder match at "Ascension". He says with the door shut on Infinite Spirit, new, bigger, brighter, and farther reaching paths have now become clear, as
Prestige Pro Wrestling sets to become the premier wrestling league in all the world, and looks to establish itself far and wide.
Steve Corino interjects to agree, as he says he is not sure he has ever been a part of a roster quite this diverse. They have the best wrestlers from literally all over the world under one roof, vying for the chance to prove themselves to be the very best in the sport. Lita says she has met wrestlers from all over Europe, Asia, Brazil, and North America, and just the size and scope of what is happening here in truly impressive, but really it is a gift to the world, as PPW ventures the globe to bring the best action anywhere and everywhere they are welcome to do so.
And with that, we head to the ring for the first match as the fans stand and applaud the competitors.
Fatal Four-Way Match
Naomi vs. "The Jersey She-Devil" Liv Morgan vs. Kay Lee Ray vs. Chelsea GreenThe show opens up with four way dance action here, as the ladies take the ring to put on a show for these Tokyo fans. This match was as chaotic as expected, with Kay Lee Ray and Naomi stealing a lot of the attention of the crowd with their high energy attacks on their opponents. However, the unorthodox and opportunistic style of Liv Morgan proved to be effective here tonight, as she tossed KLR from the ring after she nailed Green with a Swanton Bomb, and then delivered a Liv Kick to a kneeling Green. Morgan would make the cover and get the three, able to secure the win narrowly before Naomi could break it up.
Winner: Liv MorganMorgan seemed very pleased with herself post match, mocking her opponents, as Naomi and KLR especially seemed disappointed in this result.
Out to the ring come
"Switchblade" Jay White and
"Hangman" Adam Page, and they do not seem very pleasant... as if they ever do.
Jay White takes the microphone and threatens to kill each and every person in their sleep if they don't shut their mouths, getting boos from the crowd, obviously. He then says that everybody knows that he is the star of the show, and it won't be long before he is wearing the World Heavyweight championship. He says no one in the locker room dares to stand up to he or "Hangman" and it's with good reason, because even with the new big budget here in
Prestige Pro Wrestling, the health insurance isn't good enough to cover what they would do to them if they did!
Obviously not everybody backstage got that memo with from their healthcare providers, because out to stage came newly crowned International champion,
Tetsuya Naito, and
Kota Ibushi!
Adam Page takes the mic from White tells them they'd better run on back to the back before they get hurt, but Naito tells him to relax. Nobody cares about anything White or Page have to say, according to Naito. Naito says he's unimpressed with White or his title shot. He says he may have beaten Ibushi in that ladder match, but everybody knows Ibushi stole the show that night. And as for championships? Naito says there is only one guy out there right now with a title belt, and that's
him, so White can take his little ego and shove it up his ass until he actually does something.
White says he will do something, and that's beat Naito like he has time and time again! And that goes for Ibushi, too, as he'll give him a beating just like he did at "Ascension"! Naito applauds and says then it's a match! Tonight, Naito and Ibushi versus White and Page... Ibushi then takes the microphone and says it's White and Page who are going to need the medics when they are through with them!
At the announcer's table,
Steve Corino is applauding Ibushi for turning up the heat there at the end, as he is ready to see these two teams tear into each other!
Lita goes on to say that she isn't sure a referee is going to be able to contain these two teams, as there's bad blood that's been brewing between these guys for some time now and things just might get
extreme before it's all over. With that,
Mauro Ranallo says it's time for another great showcase of in ring skill, as we get ready for the next contest.
Singles Match
Buddy Murphy vs. TJPTJP would try to get the crowd behind him and use his quick offense and technical skills to keep Murphy off balance or on his back, but "The Best Kept Secret in MUW" according to Steve Corino had other plans. Murphy would manage to catch TJP with a series of strikes, which he tried to follow up with a spinning back elbow, but TJP ducked only to catch a knee to the face, followed by Murphy's Law, and it's all over! Murphy made pretty quick work of TJP here, and looked very good doing it.
Winner: Buddy Murphy
Backstage, we have interviewer
Jeremy Borash standing in with
Hiroshi Tanahashi and
Juice Robinson.
Borash goes on to talk about the great and emotional match these two had at "Ascension", but says that now they seem to have bonded. Tanahashi says that he really respects Juice and the energy and heart he brings to the ring, and feels it is infectious. He says that fight sparked a lot of emotion in him and he wants to keep pushing himself to be the best that he can be, and alongside a friend like Juice, he thinks there is more success to come. Juice Robinson says that he gave it his all, has put his nose to the grindstone year after year, and it's finally all coming to fruition now, as he sees his stock rising and he feels the pay off coming his way. He says the top of the card is where Tanahashi owns, and it's where he belongs, and he wants to give these fans here the best show night in and night out and earn that spot at the top, and eventually, put some gold around his pretty waist. Tanahashi and Juice are lively and smiling until some unpleasantness comes into their air space in the form of
Pete Dunne,
Ilja Dragunov, and
Marcel Barthel.
Juice asks what they want as Borash gets in between the men here. Pete Dunne says that he and the boys here have heard enough of this bullocks and nobody wants to hear it. A bunch of cheery bloody nonsense from a washed up geezer who's embarrassing, a shell of himself, and some bloke dressing out the charity shop rubbish bin, trying to convince these stupid people that he's something he is not. Dunne says he spot on deserves the right to be top bill around here, and if it's a spirited little brush up these wankers are lookin' for, look no further, but they better find another lad to get the hides tanned with or it's gonna be an even longer night for them.
Tanahashi says that if Dunne is looking for a fight, he's going to get one, and they will find another partner and put them in their place! Pete laughs and says fat chance tosser, and the three of them turn away as Juice looks a little confused. Juice tells Borash he's not sure what just happened or about half of what Dunne just said, but they are going to kick their disgruntled asses here tonight in Tok- OH!
Dunne, Dragunov, and Barthel are back and they are putting a pounding on Tanahashi and Robinson! Security and agents hit the scene and break this up, and we head back to the announcer's table!
Mauro Ranallo is beside himself, as he can't believe Pete Dunne's blind rage and anger towards two men who have never done him any wrong! Corino says this is professional wrestling, and if you're not making a name for yourself, you're not doing you're job. Pete Dunne, Ilja Dragunov, and Marcel Barthel decided to take an opportunity and run with it, and Corino applauds them, because they just got themselves a match with one of the biggest stars in the history of the sport in Tanahashi, and that didn't happen by accident. Lita says that killer instinct goes a long way in this business, and from the looks of it, Pete Dunne might have what it takes to get to the very top.
We head back to the ring.
Tag Team Match
Rhea Ripley & Killer Kelly vs. Dakota Kai & Xia BrooksideRipley and Kelly were brutal in that ring, but the fans were behind the exciting Kai and Xia, and wanted to see them overcome! Brookside would take the brunt of this beating, as Ripley and Kelly cut off the ring and laid into her with some serious brawling, but Brookside would manage to make the hot tag and in came Dakota like a house of fire, much to the fans approval! Kelly would manage to deliver a Bicycle Kick to slow down Kai momentarily, looking for a German Suplex soon after, but Kai would land on her feet! Kelly would rush forward, only to get caught with the evasive Scorpion Kick, followed by Kai running off of the ropes delivering the Kai-Ropractor to get the pinfall win as the fans cheered her team on!
Winners: Dakota Kai & Xia BrooksideRhea Ripley can't believe it, as she tosses chairs and anything not nailed down in frustration on the outside. Lita says all four women looked good here, but Xia and Kai just have that heart and x-factor it takes to overcome!
Backstage, we see
Mayu Iwatani,
Io Shirai, and
Kairi Sane are talking about recent events in a friendly manner.
They are talking about Mayu's recent title success, and congratulating Sane on her "Ascension" win, when suddenly into the scene comes
Ruby Riott,
Emma, and
Jazzy Gabert, as Ruby slow claps and mocks the three ladies.
Ruby says that the only reason these three ladies have found so much success is because they haven't been looking across the ring from any of the three ladies they see before them right now! She says tonight, they want to cut them down to size, and if they can't figure that out, it's a challenge! Io Shirai gets out in front and says if it's a challenge they are looking for, then they'd better be ready to back it up, because around here, you can't just get along looking tough and running your mouth! Mayu then says they'd better be ready to fight! Jazzy Gabert, the biggest of all the ladies, steps forward and says tonight, she is going to bring pain to PPW, and they will be the ones who suffer it.
We go back to commentary, where Steve Corino talks about just how intimidating Jazzy Gabert looks, while Mauro is putting over how exciting that match is going to be. Lita says it's going to be a fun clash of styles in many ways, and she can't wait to see how it all unfolds! She says Shirai especially looked eager to jump into this fight, so things could get high risk in a hurry!
We head back to the ring for the next match.
Six Man Tag Team Match
ACH, "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese, and "The Lucha Dragon" Kalisto vs. "Prince Pretty" Tyler Breeze, "The Miracle" Mike Bennett w/ Maria Kanellis, and Andrade "Cien" Almas w/ Zelina VegaThis match was given a little more time to develop, as we had some big personalities here and the fans really got a good look at them. Breeze, Bennett, and Andrade were all very cocky and seemed to enjoy trying to punish their opponents tonight, while creating chaos for the referee, as they had an astounding two valets on the outside to cause distraction. ACH, Nese, and Kalisto are all very impressive and high impact stars, and they seemed determined to overcome this and make a great first impression tonight. Bannett looked like he may have hurt himself near the end of the match, holding his knee on the outside as Kanellis attended to her husband. Tyler Breeze would knock Nese out to the ring late in the match with a Reverse Huracanrana, posing afterwards, but opening himself up to the Salida del Sol from Kalisto, who would manage to get the three count before Almas could break it up!
Winners: ACH, Tony Nese, and KalistoAfter the match, Andrade would grab Kalisto and deliver the Hammerlock DDT in a cheap shot, getting huge boos from the crowd! ACH and Nese would run him and the rest of his team off, picking Kalisto up and checking on him as they try to celebrate this big victory.
We go backstage where we see a man who introduces himself as
Stokely Hathaway standing in with his client,
WALTER!
Stokely says that his black ass did what none of these other industry moguls and big shots could do, and that's sign the HOTTEST free agent in all of professional wrestling, WALTER, and he has brought him right here, to
Prestige Pro Wrestling, to take over this company and prove he is the best! Stokely says "The Ring General" has come to destroy the weaklings here in PPW, but Stokely says that he personally is looking to expand his talent pool is looking for some killers who want to make the most and get the big opportunities. He says PPW has been put on notice, and Big Stoke is running the show here from now on!
We go to the commentary table, where Mauro Ranallo puts over WALTER and all of his accomplishments, while Steve Corino says all of that may be true, but calls Stokely Hathaway a delusional idiot who loves to hear himself talk. Lita pokes fun at Corino, stating that many people could say the same about "The King of Old School", which Corino says he'll gladly back up anything he says.
We head back to the ring.
Singles Match
"The Dungeon Diva" Natalya vs. "The H.B.I.C." Mia YimReally competitive match here, as Yim would take some short cuts early to open up her aggressive offense that put Nattie in some tough predicaments throughout. Mia Yim would try to hit her Protect Ya Neck finisher on Nattie near the end, but Natalya would show her technical skills, transitioning the finisher into a cradle roll-up for the pinfall victory! Yim was very frustrated with this, but left without causing much of a ruckus, as Natalya had clearly taken some of her best shots and bested her instead.
Winner: NatalyaAfter the match, Natalya got on the microphone and said that at "Destiny", she wants to achieve her destiny and win the International Women's title, challenging Mayu Iwatani! Out to the stage would come
Mayu Iwatani, who would say that she has been impressed with Natalya and has wanted to wrestle her for a long time, and will accept her challenge, much to the fans approval! However, from behind came
Ruby Riott to attack Mayu! Ruby would yell that Mayu had better just focus on their match tonight, as Natalya ran up the ramp and caught Ruby with a couple of right hands to run her off as the referee tried to break it up! Natalya then checked on Mayu and lifted her up. The two would stand face to face as Mayu held her neck, before Mayu and Natalya shook hands, sealing the deal for "Destiny" on May 5th, right here in Tokyo!
We go backstage, where
Buddy Murphy is standing in with
Jeremy Borash.
Jeremy congratulates Buddy on his success earlier in the night in defeating TJP, but Buddy Murphy doesn't want to hear any of it. Buddy says he didn't come here to beat a pipsqueak like TJP, he came here to face the best of the best! Buddy says his place is at the top, as no man can match him in that ring, and that's why he's keeping an eye on the next match... he says he heard a lot of talk from Tanahashi, from Juice, from Pete Dunne, but the fact is, any or all of them could be the next victim of Buddy Murphy.
We head back to the ring.
Six Man Tag Team Match
"The Ace of the Universe" Hiroshi Tanahashi, "The Flamboyant" Juice Robinson, and Apollo Crews vs. "The Bruiserweight" Pete Dunne, Ilja Dragunov, and Marcel BarthelTanahashi and Juice found a partner, and his name is Apollo Crews! While that name certainly isn't setting the world on fire on it's face, this match actually turned out to be a great showcase for Crews, who spent the majority of the time in the ring for his team, showing off his power and impressive agility for his size, putting everybody on notice here in PPW. Dunne, Dragunov, and Barthel would do everything they could to try to keep these guys down, but Crews would end up hitting the Crews Control (High Elevation Blue Thunder) on Barthel, followed by a High Fly Flow from Tanahashi, and that would get them the three!
Winners: Hiroshi Tanahashi, Juice Robinson, and Apollo CrewsPete Dunne would get on the mic afterward. He would say that their little choice of partner was well played, mates, but this isn't over. He says Tanahashi and Robinson, he wants those two in a dust up at "Destiny", and he's going to be the one coming with the mystery partner this time around. Juice gets on the microphone and says any time, any where, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Juice Robinson can beat anybody, and they'd be glad to kick his pimply Brit ass again, right here in Tokyo! Cheap pop for Juice as his music hits, the fans cheer, and Dunne snarls, plotting his revenge next month.
We see a graphic package going over the touring schedule for
Prestige Pro Wrestling, as they talk about "Destiny", and then their trip to Australia for two days in Melbourne and Brisbane, before heading to Auckland, New Zealand! The spot then directs you to their website and social media pages, as North American dates will be announced soon!
Back to the ring for more action.
Six Woman Tag Team Match
"The Gift" Mayu Iwatani, "Sky Icon" Io Shirai, and "Pirate Princess" Kairi Sane vs. "Heartless" Emma, "Punk Rock Razor" Ruby Riott, and "Alpha Female" Jazzy GabertThe fans were red hot for this one, as they were cheering and screaming for Mayu, Io, and Kairi to get the win here, and their offense was very exciting throughout. The flying and striking prowess of these three women are on par or better than anybody else in the business, and it's always a great show. Emma and Riott are very good hands in the ring, and know how to get the fans against them, pulling the hair, gouging the eyes, and working the holds in the center of the ring to try to cut off the momentum of the megastars of the match. Jazzy Gabert, though, was perhaps the biggest story, as "The Alpha Female" is an imposing presence and she made that presence felt, working really well to get over the speed and agility of her faster opponents, who in turn made her power offense look outstanding. In what was a huge moment for the fans, Jazzy Gabert would end up getting taken down by Io after a Missile Dropkick, followed by the InSane Elbowdrop from Sane, only to have that moment deflated, as Riott broke up the pin and Emma tackled Shirai out of the ring! Riott would try to whip Sane off the ropes, only to have it reversed by Sane, who went for an elbow strike, but Ruby ducked it and rolled her up, holding the tights and she gets the pinfall over Sane! The fans are going nuts, booing and jeering Riott, Emma, and Gabert!
Winners: Ruby Riott, Emma, and Jazzy GabertRiott and company would all exit the ringside area quickly, gloating up the ramp, as this certainly has caused some psychological turmoil for the three Japanese stars, as Mayu, Io, and Kairi all look rather deflated in the ring, licking their wounds after a hard fought battle.
Backstage before the next match, we see
Stokely Hathaway walking with
WALTER, and they pass by
Jay White and
Adam Page getting ready for the main event. Stokely says they will be keeping an eye on their match tonight, leading Jay White to pull out his knife and tell them to keep walking or they'll be watching his blade cutting them wide open! Stokely laughs, raising his hands and backing off, motioning for WALTER not to engage. White and Page get back to prepping.
Back to the ring for the main event.
Tag Team Match
"Hangman" Adam Page & "Switchblade" Jay White vs. "Golden Star" Kota Ibushi & "Reckless Genius" Tetsuya NaitoThis match started as a standard tag team match up, but after Page took Ibushi to the outside and started choking him with his noose, all Hell broke loose, and the rules were pretty much thrown out the window! These guys would beat on each other mercilessly through the crowd, smacking each other with chairs and trashcans, and the referee somehow just allowed it. We had a war on out hands, as Jay White would try to put Naito through the announcer's table with a Piledriver, only to have Naito block it and deliver a Low Blow, before delivering a Destino off the table to the ringside floor in a "Holy Shit!" moment! Back in the ring, "Hangman" would try for the Buck Shot Lariat, only to get caught with a kick to the face from Ibushi! Naito would slide a table into the ring, and he and Ibushi would set up the table in the corner! Naito would go to the top rope and fly off to the outside, delivering a Moonsault Plancha to "Switchblade"! Kota Ibushi would then try to lift Page for a powerbomb, but Page would block it and then try to reverse into the Rite of Passage, but Ibushi would block that and sunset flip Page over, delivering a Roundhouse Kick to the kneeling "Hangman", followed by a Standing Corkscrew Moonsault! But Ibushi, wasn't done, yelling out and lifting Page up, getting him back into Powerbomb position... RUNNING LAST RIDE POWERBOMB THROUGH THE TABLE IN THE CORNER! THE CROWD IS GOING NUTS! Ibushi pulls Page from the wreckage and pins him and the referee counts to three! Mauro Ranallo is about to have a stroke on commentary, he's so excited!
Winners: Kota Ibushi & Tetsuya NaitoIbushi grabs Page by the hair and tosses him out of the ring! Naito tosses White over the guardrail and into the crowd, which leads White to crawl through the crowd to escape, as Ibushi and Naito stand in the center of the ring, blood coming from Naito's back, while Ibushi too looks scraped and beaten. Ibushi takes the microphone and says he has fought many wars by Naito's side, but it is what is around his waist that he desires. Ibushi says that at "Destiny", their friendship must be put aside for one night, as he challenges Naito to a match for the championship. Naito puts his left hand on his hip as he looks down at the International title belt in his hand. He then switches hands with the belt and takes the microphone. He says he can think of no more worthy adversary, and it will be an honor to beat Ibushi's ass to retain his title! Both men smile, as this challenge has been accepted and the two shake hands as Naito raises his title high and the shows comes to an end.
