"Ascension"
It was announced that this would be the last show under the ISPW banner, but the champions and repercussions of this show would move on to a new, to be announced project in the near future. The new company who has purchased the contracts and rights to ISPW properties says they look forward to being an international force in wrestling, and will continue to have a presence in Japan! Without further ado, here is "Ascension"!
"The Dungeon Diva" Natalya vs. "The Punk Rock Razor" Ruby Riott
Riott was fierce in this contest, but Natalya was able to block the Riot Kick and lock on the Sharpshooter to get the submission victory.
"Hangman" Adam Page vs. Kushida
Kushida would try to use his speed and tenacity to overcome the bigger Adam Page, but "Hangman" was able to catch Kushida with the Rite of Passage to smash him down for the three count.
Mia Yim vs. Meiko Satomura
Satomura was taking on the brash and fiery Yim, and while she would do everything she could to try to extinguish that fire, Yim was able to dodge the Scorpio Rising and lock on the Kneebar to get the surprise submission win!
"The Flamboyant" Juice Robinson vs. "The Ace of the Universe" Hiroshi Tanahashi
These two had a lot of respect for each other, but it didn't stop them from pulling out all of the stops here. Tanahashi showed a lot of heart, but you could tell that Robinson just had another gear that Tanahashi couldn't quite get to, and he could see the biggest win of his career right in front of him and wouldn't let it go. Tanahashi fight with everything he had and after a barrage of strikes, attempted to take Juice over with the Dragon Suplex, but Juice would reverse it and deliver a Palm Strike, followed by Pulp Friction, and Juice got the victory! These two would shake hands afterwards, with Tanahashi raising Juice's hand at the end, maybe passing the torch in a way as the fans give them both a nice ovation.
MUW World Women's Title Contendership
Ladder Match: Io Shirai vs. Kairi Sane vs. Sumie Sakai
These three women left it all out there tonight, as the devious Sumie Sakai tried to cripple her opponents, while Shirai and Sane tried to sacrifice their bodies to get the job done here. Sane hitting the InSane Elbow off the ladder to the outside, smashing both Shirai and Sakai was a big highlight. Shirai delivering a Moonsault off the top to Sakai on the outside while she was stretched out on a ladder bridging the railing and the apron was another big spot. In the end, Sane would get to the top and get the briefcase holding the contract to earn the shot at the World Women's title!
ISPW International Female Title: Mayu Iwatani (c) vs. Hiroyo Matsumoto
These two have had some fierce contests in the past, but this was perhaps their most fierce to date. Matsumoto tried to destroy Mayu in this match. She would powerbomb her off the apron, she would piledrive her through the announcer's table, and she would attack her with the ringbell after the ref had been knocked down, but Mayu refused to quit! Matsumoto would try to attack Mayu with a chair near the end, but the referee tried to stop it. Hiroyo would pull the chair away from the referee, but Mayu would kick it into Hiroyo's face! Mayu would then grab Hiroyo and pull her over, crushing her with her Dragon Suplex and holding on for the three count to successfully retain her championship!
ISPW International Male Title: CIMA (c) vs. Tetsuya Naito
CIMA has shown the heart of a champion when push came to shove during his time here in ISPW, but tonight, the tide had turned on him. Naito was most certainly his match, and the fans were behind Naito as he had an answer for everything CIMA threw at him and kept fighting forward. Naito would manage to get the knees up as CIMA attempted the Mad Splash, and proceeded to deliver the Destino, planting CIMA and putting him down for the three count! We have a new International Champion going into this new frontier, and the fans couldn't be happier!
MUW World Heavyweight Championship Contendership
Ladder Match: "Golden Star" Kota Ibushi vs. "Time Bomb" Hiromu Takahashi vs. "Switchblade" Jay White
This was a very wild match, as Takahashi brought a lot of creativity and chaos to this match. Takahashi delivering a Running Death Valley Driver into a ladder propped up in the corner to White, and also delivering the Time Bomb to Ibushi off the apron on a ladder on the floor were both huge moves. Ibushi coming off the middle of the ladder to the outside with a Phoenix Splash to both Takahashi and White was another big move, while White delivering a Blade Runner off of one ladder from another in the ring to Ibushi was a huge move for "Switchblade". Takahashi would manage to deliver a Sunset Powerbomb to Ibushi off the of ladder, leading White to catch him with the Blade Runner quickly after, allowing White to get to the top of the ladder and get the briefcase, and it'll be Jay White who gets the shot at the MUW World Heavyweight Title!
