VS. TRIOS GRUDGE MATCH
Mexicools vs. Real Americans The Patriot, Sergeant Slaughter, and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan are great American patriots who have come to Lucha Underground on a mission to make wrestling great again. They are the antithesis of lucha libre and want to see it removed from the country. If they had it their way, the Temple would be shut down, and lucha libre and all of the luchadores who participate in it would be shipped off to Mexico where they belong (or so they would have you believe). Juventud Guerrera, Psicosis, and Super Crazy, are a trio with a lot of pride in their roots and who espouse that message by proclaiming that it is cool to be Mexican. This is the context in which we arrive at our grudge match between a trio of Real Americans and a trio of Mexicools. That said, this match also comes as the result of a fight that broke out between the two groups during a singles match between The Patriot and Juventud Guerrera.
The two sides couldn’t be any more different in terms of their in-ring styles. The Mexicools are the smaller and faster team. They look and feel like a true lucha libre trio. They use their speed to make quick strikes and they aren’t afraid to go airborne for maximum impact. Meanwhile, the Real Americans are the bigger and more powerful team. They look and feel nothing like a lucha libre trio – and they aren’t. They use their power for hard hitting, impactful maneuvers, and they are well adapted to the art of brawling. The pace of the action is a great indicator for who had the advantage at any given moment in this match. When Guerrera went over the top rope with a sommersault tope con hilo, Psicosis executed a corkscrew plancha or Super Crazy executed an Asai moonsault, you knew the Mexicools were in charge. However, when Sgt. Slaughter threw Psicosis into the second row of the ringside wooden chairs, Duggan bent a chair completely out of shape on Super Crazy’s body, and The Patriot gave Guerrera the Patriot Missile to knock him off the ring apron and through a table, you knew the Real Americans were in charge.
Of course, the highlight of the match was lucha libre taken to the extreme when Super Crazy performed a moonsault from the top of the band platform onto the Real Americas. Despite the death-defying high risk he took to help his team, it wasn’t enough to deliver them the victory. While Sgt. Slaughter received a guillotine leg drop from Psicosis and a corkscrew diving senton from Guerrera, at the same time, it couldn’t secure their team the win. Duggan and The Patriot broke up a pinfall attempt and sent Guerrera and Psicosis flying over the top rope. Super Crazy dropkicked Duggan out to the floor, but not long thereafter, he had a whip reversed by The Patriot, which then got him a swing of a 2x4 across the back of his head as he hit the ropes. Having been knocked silly by Duggan, Super Crazy became easy prey for an Uncle Sam Slam by The Patriot, which was enough for the Real Americans to earn the victory.

VS. MASH-UP WRESTLING WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Charlotte Flair vs. Beth Phoenix At Ultima Lucha, Charlotte Flair and Beth Phoenix were two of four luchadoras to compete in a fatal fourway match in which only the winner would retain the privilege to continue competing in The Temple. Phoenix won the match after executing a Glam Slam on Flair and pinning her. Flair moved onto the Broken City where she rebounded from that loss in spectacular fashion by eventually defeating Chyna to win the MUW Women’s World Championship. However, while Chyna still held the championship, a competition in the Temple to determine a challenger for the championship was held and Phoenix emerged victorious, winning the opportunity to compete for the Women’s World Championship. Now, after having been banished from the Temple, Flair is back as the world’s #1 luchadora, and she intends to retain her championship and to show all the Believers that Phoenix’s victory was nothing more than a fluke.
Flair and Phoenix gave the Believers a very different contest than the preceding trios match. Both luchadoras possessing a great deal of power and technical proficiency, they mostly battled it out on the mat while trading holds during the early minutes of the match. However, when Phoenix telegraphed a back body drop, Flair quickly gained the upper hand by leaping over her and then dropping her to the mat with a massive big boot. From there, the champion started targeting Phoenix’s legs to soften them up for later. Phoenix eventually took control of the match from Flair by getting out of the corner, which caused Flair’s shoulder to strike the turnbuckle post. From there, Phoenix focused her attack on the injured shoulder. When she tried to apply a double chicken-wing, Flair slipped free and gave Phoenix a swinging neckbreaker, but she couldn’t follow up with a pin, as the Glamazon immediately rolled out to the outside. That set Flair up to execute the one true high spot of the match, which was a corkscrew moonsault fom the top top turnbuckle to the floor onto Phoenix!
As the contest continued, power moves were exchanged, with Phoenix executing a gorilla press slam and Flair executing a spinebuster. The match was nearly ended after Phoenix executed a superplex and Flair executed a super belly-to-back suplex, but the luchadora on the receiving end of those moves was able to kick out both times. As the contest wore on, Phoenix tried to apply the double chicken-wing and Flair tried to apply the figure eight, but they each quickly evaded their opponent’s respective finishing holds. This led to a sequence of desperation pinfall attempts beginning with Phoenix’s unlikely attempt at a victory roll, which was followed by backslides, crucifix pins, small packages, school-girl roll-ups, bridging pins, and even a la magistral, but none of them ended the contest. Finally, Phoenix was able to get Flair into a single-arm chicken wing and try for the submission victory, but Flair eventually reached the ropes. Not long after that, Phoenix executed a sidewalk slam for a long 2-count. After that, she picked up Flair and went for a vertical suplex, but Flair landed on her feet and turned it into straightjacket neckbreaker. She used her last bit of adrenaline to quickly get back to her feet and execute the Natural Selection while Phoenix was trying to get up off the mat. Then, she applied the Figure Eight leglock to force her challenge to tap out.
WINNER : CHARLOTTE FLAIR ***
VS. STEEL CAGE MATCH
Shinsuke Nakamura vs. “Macho King” Randy Savage The “Macho King” Randy Savage seems to have a problem with other luchadores being referred to as a king. He likes to think of himself as the only royalty in lucha libre, which explains why he’s had issues with the “King of Swing” Cesaro and the “King of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura. He also won’t let go of a grudge with another so-called king until such a time when he gets the better of them. The rivalry between the “Macho King” and “King of Strong Style” began when they had a match that Nakamura won cleanly. Savage insisted upon a rematch and he won it, granted he had to use his royal sceptre to knockout Nakamura in order to do so. Their paths wouldn’t cross again until many months later when a chance encounter in the locker room resulted in a verbal spat, which in turn resulted in Savage running out to the ring during a ladder match in which he was not competing to knock Nakamura off a ladder and stop him from gaining a Lucha Underground Championship match here at Ultima Lucha Dos. Now, the stage is set for them to reignite their rivalry in the middle of the ring, locked inside of a steel cage. Who will win this rubber match? Let’s find out now!
As one could expect, the charisma and showboating was on a whole other level in this contest. Before even locking up, Savage climbed all the turnbuckles and pointed a finger to the sky. When he was finished, Nakamura just grinned and then dared Savage to
“come on!” And he did, but not to great effect. Nakamura took the early advantage, but Savage was never in danger of losing the match. It was when Nakamura climbed the turnbuckle that the advantage switched, as Savage got off the mat, ran over and shoved Nakamura into the corner of the cage. He then ran through his arsenal of moves in preparation of the diving elbow drop, but Nakamura rolled out of the way. After that, Nakamura retook control and started using the cage as a weapon. When Savage fought back, he did the same thing. Eventually, Nakamura would strike Savage in the temple with a diving Bomaye from off the turnbuckle, but Savage would kick out of it. He would mount a comeback and land a diving elbow drop from off the turnbuckle, but Nakamura also kicked out of it.
The end of the bout come around when Savage was on the top rope trying to scale the side of the cage and Nakamura jumped up, kneed him in the kidneys and then slammed his face off the cage until he felt down to the mat. Then, he performed the rarely scene El Nino springboard moonsault and then stood in the corner and started shaking as he readied himself to deliver another Bomaye. As he was doing that, the Believers were shocked at the sight of Sensational Sherri scaling the outside of the cage. As she reached the top, Nakamura executed the Bomaye, and as she started to climb down he rolled Savage over and pinned him. 1…2… Sherri landed on Nakamura’s back with a Sensational Splash! After that, she pulled the Macho King royal sceptre out from underneath her dress and hit a homerun shot across Nakamura’s head with it.
Savage woke and appeared to be in shock. However, there was no time for that. Sherri screamed her lungs off at him to climb to the top of the cage, and using some body language, signaled that she wanted to see the diving elbow. Savage follows Sherri’s orders as she sat back down on Nakamura and slapped the crap out of him. Then, she got up, and Savage pointed to the heavens from the top of the cage and landed a picture-perfect diving elbow drop! He covered. 1…2…3! The Macho King took the rubber match, and as it would appear, he regained a Sensational Queen!
WINNER : “MACHO KING” RANDY SAVAGE ***
Seventeen luchadores have entered the ring, ready to participate in a 20-luchador battle royal for one of Dario Cueto’s unique opportunities, when our eighteenth participant enters the Temple. It is the world’s most famous mini-luchador, the one, the only, Mascarita Sagrada!
Next, Famous B and the Beautiful Brenda appear at the top of the stairs leading down to the ring. Famous B announces that he’s searched high and low for someone to make famous and he’s found the perfect client, who when using his managerial services is poised to make them both very rich. Without further adieu, he announces that his newest client and the eventual winner of tonight’s battle royal is the two-faced legend himself – Dr. Wagner Jr.!
Dario Cueto comes out of his office with a microphone in his hand. He points out that there are only nineteen luchadores in the ring, which means we are one short. The problem is that he can a twentieth participant lined up for the event, a special surprise entrant, but that luchador suffered a major injury in training for his Lucha Underground debut. Dario Cueto says he prides himself on always delivering, so he’s found a way to fix the problem. He says that his food vendor will enter the ring and take the final place. In the audience, we see the food vendor with a look of shock on his face. He says he’s not a trained luchador, he’s just a food vendor. Cueto tells him that this is his lucky day because he has an opportunity to win a prize that could change his life, and if he doesn’t take it, then he’s fired. The food vendor puts his popcorn and soda tray down in front of Matt Striker and Vampiro, and goes to enter the ring, but then says,
“But I don’t have a cool ring name.” Cueto says,
“That’s easy. I’ll give you one. Look at your uniform. You look like a Cheeseburger!” The Believers chant
“Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger” Cheeseburger! Cheeseburger!”Finally, before the match begins, Cueto tells everyone in the ring that the prize they are fighting for is a guaranteed opportunity to compete for the Lucha Underground Championship at ULTIMA LUCHA TRES!!! Then, he tells the timekeeper to
“RING THE BELL!!!”
A 20-LUCHADOR BATTLE ROYAL
FOR A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY
Mr. Cisco is dumped out of the ring before anyone else with a clothesline from big Baron Corbin.
Argenis is suplexed out of the ring by La Parka, who was standing on the ring apron and who rolled back under the ropes after making the elimination.
Bailey leaves the match earlier than anticipated as she gets tossed over the top rope, but holds onto the top rope. However, after getting her feet onto the ring apron and steadying herself, she is dropkicked by Nikki Cross.
Heath Slater receives tilt-a-whirl headscissors from Dr. Wagner Jr. that sends him flying over the top rope. He doesn’t get the life-changing unique opportunity, but he does get paid and that’ll at least put food on the table for his kids.
PJ Black tries to dump Son of Havoc over the top rope, but Son of Havoc locks a headscissors hold onto Black and pulls him over the top rope and out to the floor to eliminate him.
Lluvia receives a step-up enziguiri from Alpha Guerrero, a debuting luchador wearing jeans, a hoodie, and a day of the dead themed luchador mask. Alpha Guerrero then flings her over the top rope to put an end to her night.
Cortez Castro gives Dean Ambrose a thrust kick that sends him into the ropes and rebounding back at him with a lethal rebound lariat. Ambrose doesn’t waste a moment picking him up and hip tossing him over the top rope.
Nikki Cross goes tumbling to the floor when she tries to dump Sexy Star and Paige over the top rope but is then lifting out and dumped over the top rope with them by Alpha Guerrero. Sexy Star and Paige land on the ring apron and stay safe.
Zeuxis goes to climb the turnbuckle and gets a rope-assisted enzuigiri kick from Son of Havoc that knocks her off the turnbuckles and down to the floor. Climbing the ropes was a bad idea.
Baron Corbin runs over to deliver a big boot to La Parka, who is standing on the ring apron, but he ducks down and pulls on the top rope, causing Corbin to get crotched on the top rope. The Lone Wolf is then dropkicked to the floor by Ultimo Dragon. Ten down. Ten to go.
Mascarita Sagrada takes Sexy Star down with a diving crossbody from the top rope. He points to the corner and the Believers cheer for him to go up again. He does it and goes for another one on Alpha Guerrero, but he counters it with a codebreaker and then picks up the mini luchador and throws him out of the ring.
Paige gives Sexy Star a Ram-Paige DDT, but after she does, she’s given a springboard tornado DDT from Dr. Wagner Jr., who then picks her up and throws her out of the ring.
La Parka takes Cheeseburger down with diving tilt-a-whirl headscissors, but when when he gets goes for a springboard maneuver on the second rope, Ultimo Dragon dropkicks him in the back and he ends up going over the top rope and crashing to the floor.
Dean Ambrose takes a nasty spill out to the floor while standing on the second turnbuckle and trading fists with Alpha Guerrero who was seated on the top turnbuckle. As they traded blows, Sexy Star and Dr. Wagner Jr. attacked him from behind and sent him flying out of the ring.
Sexy Star goes flying out of the ring because you should never trust someone who is two-faced. Dr. Wagner Jr. slapped hands with her, but then held onto her wrist and gave her a stiff short-arm clothesline. Then, he tosses her out of the ring.
A long pause between eliminations occurs when we reach the final five. The first of this group to leave the ring is Son of Havoc, who attempts a handspring back elbow on Dr. Wagner Jr. only to get caught and sent flying with a release German suplex. He gets up near the ropes and is clotheslined to the floor by Alpha Guerrero.
Cheeseburger had long odds and made it to the final four, but that’s as far as he’d go, as his attempt to eliminate the legendary Dr. Wagner Jr. is thwarted by Alpha Guerrero, who gives him a single-handed jumping bulldog and then sends him flying over the top rope.
Dr. Wagner Jr. finishes the night in third place. It was not the ending that Famous B was hoping for, but after receiving an Asai DDT from Ultimo Dragon, his night was over.
Just as soon as Ultimo Dragon tossed Dr. Wagner Jr. out of the ring, he turned around and received a codebreaker from Alpha Guerrero and was then tossed out of the ring to end up finishing as the runner-up.
The winner of the 20-luchador battle royal and recipient of a Lucha Underground Championship Title match at Ultima Lucha Tres is the newcomer Alpha Guerrero!
After being announced as the winner, Alpha Guerrero pulls down his hoodie and removes his day of the dead luchador mask to reveal that he is Chris Jericho! Ultimo Dragon, who won the Lucha Underground Championship at the first Ultima Lucha and in doing so banished Jericho from the Temple by making him submit, looks on in disbelief. Chris Jericho should not be back, but he is, and not only that, he’s guaranteed himself another opportunity to win the ultimate prize in Lucha Underground!
WINNER : “ALPHA GUERRERO” CHRIS JERICHO ***
Just before our next match was set to begin, Dario Cueto came out of his office to make yet another special announcement – that because these two luchadores hate each other so much, this Ultima Lucha Rematch will be contested under Hell of War rules! For those who don’t know what a Hell of War match is, it is essentially an 2 out of 3 falls match where anything goes! Oh, but that’s not all, the winner will receive a Mash-Up Wrestling Men’s World Heavyweight Championship Title Match on the season three debut of Lucha Underground!
Samoa Joe won the first ever Aztec Warfare. In doing so, he earned the right to challenge then Mash-Up Wrestling World Men’s Champion Brock Lesnar for his title in the main event of Ultima Lucha. Samoa Joe and Brock Lesnar had an intense battle that only ended after the Beast Incarnate deliberated pulverized Joe’s face with his bare fists, forearms and elbows. He went loco after an F-5 on the floor wasn’t good enough to win the match. After the match was ended by the referee, Lesnar injured every referee employed by Dario Cueto. Then, he gave Joe a final F-5, after his face was already soaked in blood, and had Paul Heyman make a symbolic 3-count. Joe ended up in a coma and it was believed that he would never return to lucha libre action ever again. However, the Samoan Submission Machine woke from his coma, worked himself back into fighting shape, and returned at the most inopportune moment for Lesnar – he attacked him and cost him a chance to win the Lucha Underground Championship. Now, they will do battle once more in the ultimate grudge match!
With the stakes having been raised all the more, as soon as Samoa Joe hit the ring, Brock Lesnar attacked as only a bloodthirsty Beast Incarnate would, and started launching Joe around the ring with release German suplexes. He threw three before Joe was able to create some distance by rolling out of the ring. Lesnar staying on him, but Joe fought back by reversing an Irish whip into the ringside seats and then charging at him with a full on running senton into the seats. The brawling around ringside continued on from there for a few more minutes before the luchadores returned to the ring. Joe being a Samoan Submission Machine slowed the action down for a time with some submission holds. Lesnar eventually fought back and continued to throw Joe around with the release German suplexes. His attempts to execute the F-5 were all unsuccessful, so Lesnar tried a different tactic by bringing chairs out from under the ring and bending them out of shape on every part of Joe’s body. That was enough to execute the F-5, and yet, when he pinned Joe, he got a shoulder up! Pissed off at that, Lesnar lifted him onto his shoulders again, but Joe slid off and applied the Coquina Clutch! Lesnar desperately went for a rope break, but couldn’t get near them, so he gave Joe a mule kick and another F-5, this time onto a steel chair! 1-2-3! Lesnar took the first fall.
Joe was given about a minute to recompose himself. It was enough to give him the chance to evade the charging Beast, whose shoulder struck the turnbuckle post. When Lesnar turned back around, he received the CSS enzuigiri kick. Then, Joe lifted him onto the turnbuckle. He threatened to execute the Muscle Buster, but Lesnar did something to gain separation. That might’ve been a bad move because Joe gave him another CSS enzuigiri kick, which this time knocked Lesnar off the top turnbuckle and out to the floor. From there, Joe and Lesnar brawled around ringside and into the bleachers. Lesnar blocked a suplex attempt and eventually gave Joe a release German suplex on the hardwood bleachers! They continued to brawl up and onto the walk ways above the bleachers and ended up over on top of Dario Cueto’s office where they teased throwing one another down to the arena floor, but that didn’t come to pass. Lesnar lifted Joe onto his shoulders, but Joe got down. When Lesnar turned around, he executed an inverted atomic drop, then lifted Lesnar onto his shoulders and gave him the F-5 on top of Dario Cueto’s office! Joe pulled Lesnar back onto the walk way and eventually kicked him down a flight of metal stairs. He eventually got him back to ringside. Once there, he brought out tables and set them up on the floor. Paul Heyman created a distraction that ended up being a poor decision because Joe chased him into the ring and gave him a Muscle Buster!
Immediately after that, Lesnar gave Joe the F-5 and pinned him! 1-2- shoulder up! Lesnar couldn’t believe it. He went outside and brought a large wood plank covered in barbed wire out from under the ring and slid it into the ring. When he went to pick up Joe, he was pulled into a small package. 1-2- Lesnar barely breaks it! Then, he attempts a clothesline, but misses and ends up in the Coquina Clutch! Joe gets him down to the mat and into a body scissors, but the Beast Incarnate shows off his superhuman strength by eventually lifting himself back to his feet. Joe, however, is smart enough to break the hold and instead gives Lesnar a pair of dragon suplexes followed by the F-5! 1-2-3! Lesnar was pinned after receiving his own move!
Heyman was taken out on a gurney while Lesnar got a minute to recover. After he did, more brawling ensued, first outside, then inside, and finally back on the outside of the ring, where one of the tables was shattered when Lesnar gave Joe a running powerbomb through it! When he got Joe back into the ring, he tried to give him another F-5, but he broke free with elbows to the side of the head. However, as soon as he broke free, Lesnar applied a Kimura lock. Fortunately for Joe, he was too close to the ropes and got a rope break. Lesnar didn’t let go, so Joe had to crawl over the bottom rope, which got him to break the hold. Lesnar was in full chase mode, following him out to the ring apron, but that enabled Joe to lift him up and drop him through the other table with a Samoan drop!
Both luchadores got to their feet at the same time, at which point they traded chops and fists and continued to brawl until Joe knocked the hinges off Dario Cueto’s office door by slamming Lesnar into it. Cueto’s immediate look of shock was released by a smile and they fought inside the office a bit, with Lesnar getting the better of Joe by hitting him over the head with Cueto’s small bull statuette, after which he put Joe through Cueto’s office window, face first! Joe was bleeding steadily from the head when Lesnar took him back into the ring where he executed another F-5 and pinned him. 1-2- shoulder up! Lesnar was in disbelief. Then, he removed his fighting gloves and, recalling Ultima Lucha, hammered away at Joe’s open wounds. He pinned him again, and again Joe kicked out! Then, Lesnar got a crazy idea. He decided to climb the turnbuckle and attempt the shooting star press.
And it was a spectacular mistake! No, he didn’t fall short. Joe put his knees up and his face landed right on one of them! Joe got up and seemed to find a new gear as he wiped the blood away from his face. He gave Lesnar an inverted atomic drop, then a single leg dropkick and a running senton, after which he picked him up, placed him on the top turnbuckle and lifted him off it, carrying him across the ring and delivering him into a pile of barbed-wire with a Muscle Buster! The referee had to help him break free as he writhed in pain. Once free, Joe locked him into the Coquina Clutch and forced him to pass out. And with that, the referee called for the bell and awarded the contest to Samoa Joe!
WINNER : SAMOA JOE ***
This is more than just a championship title match. It’s personal. Not so much between the champion and challenger in so much as it has become deeply personal between the champion and the owner, who just so happens to be the personal handler of the champion. It all goes back a problem that Kurt Angle had with Famous B, whose continual efforts to recruit the Olympic Gold Medalist as his client caused Angle to suffer the longest losing streak of his lucha libre career. Fed up, Angle went to Dario Cueto to ask for a match against Famous B. Cueto said he would book it but that Angle would have to put his gold medals on the line. Knowing there was no chance that Famous B could defeat him, Angle agreed to the stipulation. It was a set up. Cueto had his brother Matanza come out and attack Angle to cost him the match, and thus Cueto walked away with Olympic Gold. Angle retaliated by snapping Matanza’s ankle in half and threated to do it to Dario if he didn’t return his medals. Always the brilliant booker, Dario gave Angle the opportunity to get his gold medals back by putting him in a ladder match against several other luchadores. The winner of that match would not only get the medals but also a Lucha Underground Championship match at Ultima Lucha Dos. Of course, Angle climbed the ladder and retrieved his medals. Now, he has the chance to also take the Lucha Underground Championship away from Matanza Cueto. Unfortunately, it seems that Matanza has healed up in time to defend his championship and he appears to be as strong as ever. This one is going to be a dog fight!
This match starts out with both luchadores grappling to test each others strength. Angle is the far superior grappler. The Olympic Gold Medalist used his technical prowess to bring Matanza to the mat quicker than anyone’s seen him go down before. It made him furious with rage to the point that even when he broke free he would instantly attack and end up walking into another take down and another hold meant to wear him down. Dario Cueto had to remind his brother to calm down so as to regain his composure. The constant coaching seemed to work as Matanza eventually stopped going for big, fast attacks and started working Angle’s game of bringing his opponent to the mat with a hip toss, arm drag or side headlock and then applying a hold to wear him down. Matanza showed off technical skills that he had never put on display before. He worked over Angle with some tight headlocks, put him in a vice grip, and worked over the arms with wrist, elbow and shoulder locks. Before long, the Olympic Gold Medalist was finding ways to get out of Matanza’s holds and reversing them. This lead to chain wrestling sequences that impressed the Believers. When Angle slipped free from a variation of a rear headlock, took Matanza to the the mat, and slapped on an ankle lock, forcing Matanza to quickly get the ropes, the chain wrestling had finally broken up and the Believers showed both luchadores respect for what they had done.
It didn’t take long after that for the pace to pick up and for the action to spill out to the floor. Although neither luchador is known for their high flying, they both pulled out some unexpected high-risk maneuvers as Angle went to the top turnbuckle and performed a moonsault to the outside of the ring that knocked Matanza off his feet. Later on, Matanza took Angle off his feet by leaping over the top rope and hitting him with a tope con hilo. They brawled on the outside of the ring and traded suplexes with Angle giving Matanza an overhead belly-to-belly on the floor, and later, Matanza giving Angle an overhead belly-to-belly into the retaining wall of one of the sections of the stands. The brawl continued with Matanza and Angle fighting into the stands and onto the bandstand where the instruments belonging to the houseband were trampled on and in some cases destroyed, like when Angle put Matanza’s head through the big bass drum. Matanza threatened to powerbomb Angle off the stage, but Angle countered with a back body drop that sent Matanza from the top of the bandstand down to the floor below!
When Angle finally got back to Matanza and dragged him into the ring, he went for the first pinfall of the match, but “The Monster” kicked out. Then, Angle started up a suplex clinic. He gave Matanza vertical, overhead belly-to-belly, gutwrench, rolling and bridging German suplexes. However, each pinfall attempt he made was met with a kickout. Angle then went for the Angle Slam but Matanza broke free and then gave Angle a side belly-to-belly suplex. This spurred the beginning of his comeback. After a back-and-forth battle of fisticuffs, Matanza executed a powerslam and a standing moonsault on Angle and made his first pinfall attempt of the match, but Angle kicked out. After that, it was Matanza who gave Angle overhead belly-to-belly, rolling gutwrench, rolling German and then several release German suplexes. However, each pinfall attempt he made was met with a kickout.
As nothing seemed to be able to end the match, Matanza had to try something else, so he went up to the top rope and tried for a frop splash, but Angle rolled out of the way. Then, Angle tried for a moonsault off the top rope, but Matanza rolled away. After that, they again traded blows. There were a few more minutes of big moves being executes with failed pinfalls until Angle countered a back body drop into a leg grapevine and an anklelock. Matanza crawled to the ropes to break free. When he tried to attack, Angle gave him the Angle Slam and covered him, but Matanza kicked out! Angle applied another ankle lock and Matanza quickly turned over onto his back and kicked Angle away. When Angle ran at him to try to stay on the attack, Matanza caught him and gave him the Wrath of the Gods! However, he didn’t pin him, as Dario Cueto urged him to do it again. So he did, but he didn’t do it just one more time. He did it four more times. Then he pinned him. 1…2…3! Matanza Cueto retained his championship. And to add insult to injury, Dario Cueto took Angle’s Olympic Gold Medals and the Lucha Underground Championship away from the timekeeper, then he gave the belt to his brother and put the medals around his neck. Cueto had his brother pick up Angle and carry him away from ringside as they left ringside and headed down the hall tucked behind Dario Cueto’s office. What they did to Angle is anyone’s guess.
WINNER : MATANZA CUETO ***
Down in the underbelly of the Temple, we find Dario Cueto locking his brother, Matanza, into his prison cell-like cage. He puts the key back around his neck so that it sits among the Olympic Gold Medals he now possesses. Cueto tells him how he is proud of him for what he did tonight and says that no one in the world will ever hurt them because of how strong he is. He tells him that if only their mother could see them now, she would be scared to death to do them what she did when they were children. He wishes him a good night and leaves the room. As the door swings shut, Matanza grips the bars that hold him in. He looks so lonely. However, he is not alone as from out of a dark corner inside the cell steps Nikki Cross. She comes up to him, places one hand inside his and another on his mask, and tells him how much she admires his talent for inflicting violence while also promising him that he no longer has to do it alone.
Cheeseburger is closing down the Temple’s only concession stand for the night when Heath Slater approaches him and congratulates him on a great debut in tonight’s battle royal. He asks him if he’s ever considered making a career of lucha. Cheeseburger tells him that he’s on his way to tell Dario Cueto that he quits so he can go to lucha school and train to become a real luchador. Slater congratulates him again and says he can’t wait to see him back in the Temple after he’s finished his training. Cheeseburger starts walking down a hall towards Cueto’s office but hears a noice coming from inside the locker room. He goes in to find out what is going on. He finds The Patriot, Sgt. Slaughter and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan acting like school yard bullies towards the mini Mascarita Sagrada. He comes in just in time to see them hang him on a coat hook after having picked on him and written improper slogans on his tights. When the Real Americans noticed Cheeseburger was there and he confronted them, they told him that if he was okay with the Mexicans spreading lucha in wrestling country, then he was part of the problem and therefore had to be dealt with. They attacked Cheeseburger and stuffed his skinny frame into a locker before leaving the room.
We go into a Los Angeles stripper bar where “Macho King” Randy Savage and “Sensational Queen” Sherri sit in a VIP booth sipping on champagne and watching half a dozen women dance around them in various states of undress. Savage excuses himself from the booth and walks into the men’s room. There, he removes one of his many trademark pairs of sunglasses and then stares deep into the mirror at his own reflection. After a few seconds he poses this question, “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the greatest king in lucha libre?” He waits for the answer. His reflection speaks back to him: “Rey Mysterio Jr. is the greatest king in lucha libre!” Angered by the response, Savage rips the electronic hand dryer off the wall and throws it into the mirror, shattering it into hundreds of pieces.
Ultimo Dragon and Samoa Joe meet at one of the exits to the Temple. Joe is scrapped up and wearing a variety of bandages. Ultimo Dragon sees him and congratulates him on vanquishing his foe. Joe thanks him and says that it is too bad he didn’t win the battle royal. Ultimo Dragon acknowledges his loss and says that he must follow Joe’s example by seeking to avenge his loss against his bitter rival. That said, he wonders what Joe plans to do now that he’s accomplished that feat. Joe says that by beating Brock Lesnar, he's secured himself a Mash-Up Wrestling Men's World Championship on the season three debut of Lucha Underground. Now that's beaten Lesnar, his only other piece of unfinished business that stems from Ultima Lucha is winning the Mash-Up Wrestling Men’s World Championship and he's going to do it. Joe says that next season will start with a bang when he makes Braun Strowman tap out to the Coquina Clutch!
Chris Jericho leaves out the front door of the Temple where there are still dozens of Believers mingling after the show. Naturally, he’s spotted, and the Believers gather around, clamouring for autographs, and naturally, Jericho loves the attention, so he signs them as he walks down the street. Someone asks him what he’s going to do before season three starts and he says he’s going on tour with Fozzy. Then, he slips into the alley alongside the Temple, which is restrict only to performers and other staff and walks towards his tour bus. He bangs on the door. It doesn’t open. He calls out for the driver to wake up and open the door. It opens and he’s immediate knocks out with a blow to the face by a shovel. A man dressed in black from head-to-toe gets off the bus and drags Jericho across the pavement to where an old, black Chevrolet Monte Carlo is parked. He pops open the trunk and throws Jericho’s body into it. Then, he opens the passenger side door and grabs a large burlap sack and tosses it into the trunk before slamming the lid shut. He climbs into the driver’s seat. After he hits the ignition, he pulls his down his hood and removes his face and head coverings. As he drives off, we get a glimpse of his face.
Dario Cueto walks toward the exit of the Temple. He turns off the lights and walks out the back exit into the alley. He locks the door behind him and when he turns around he is startled to see a man in a suit standing there, but relaxes when he recognizes him, addressing him as L.A. City Councilman Delgado. Cueto wishes to know to what he owes the pleasure. Delgado tells him that he’s heard whispers around the mayor’s office that Washington is looking into elicit activities centered around a rumoured underground fight club in Boyle Heights, and they’re sending a covert task force in to shut it down. Cueto says he isn’t afraid of the FBI. Delgado says his sources tell him that the FBI has nothing to do with it. The rumour is that the President himself is behind it and that he has a powerful weapon that he’s ready to employ, which is why their lord has sent him here to determine whether the Temple should be closed, permanently. Cueto tells Delgado to inform the lord that it isn’t necessary because his brother is now ready for anyone or anything. Delgado tells him that is excellent news, but that the lord will be the judge of that, telling Cueto that it is time to come meet his maker. Oh, and if Cueto is unconvincing, then he will also meet his end.
Video of the Real Americans laying waste to the Mexicools is being played on a large screen television. After The Patriot, Sgt. Slaughter and “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan have their hands raised in victory, the video is stopped. Then we see the President of the United States sitting behind his desk in the Oval Office. He’s ‘bigly’ impressed with the work of the Real Americans are can’t wait to see more of it. He grabs a fountain pen and signs off on a document labeled both “Top Secret” and “Classified” and then says that he’s signed a bill granting ‘you’ unlimited resources in your mission to “Make Wrestling Great Again.” The personal sitting on the other side of the desk thanks the President but says that the only additional resources he’ll need to shut the Temple down are his pair of 24-inch pythons. The President loves it, and then tells him he has the authority to “eliminate Dario Cueto.” He promises to do it. Then, the President stands up and reaches across his desk, and the camera zooms in on their hand shake. As they shake hands, the President says, “Thank you, Hulk-“ but before he can continue, the other man corrects him, “I’m not Hulk Hogan. I’m Mr. America!”
