Backstage news and rumors for GWA this week!!!
- Rumors have it that Randy Orton was fuming in the back after Batista took the pin during the main event of Warzone. Allot of people backstage say Orton blames Tista for the loss and that there will be fallout on Warzone this week.
- Big E from New Day apparently sustained injuries during the week. We don't know too much about it right now but it seems the Undisputed Era had something to do with it and we will find out more on Warzone and might even have footage of some kind.
- Eric Bischoff is very impressed with the match the matches in the tournament for the Global Championship. So impressed that he has decided that every single match left in the tournament is "Mania Worthy" so the last 3 matches of the tournament will be held at GWA Mania.
- Speaking of GWA Mania. The GWA is going to follow NXT by making GWA Mania event available on the MUW App. This is something that Bischoff really believes will be best for business and the growth of his company.
- It is announced that there will be a contract signing between Adam Cole, CM Punk and Finn Balor for their match at GWA Mania. This will be the first contract signing for GWA so expect to see sparks fly!!!
- Also announcing that the GWA and Tommy Dreamer have parted ways due to money issues. The GWA wishes Dreamer luck in any of his future endeavors.

As GIW's television debut draws closer, house show action continues, and three more wrestlers have moved on to the second round of the GIW King of the Ring tournament:
Paul Orndorff defeated Montez Ford and Christian (Christian pinned Ford, Orndorff pinned Christian). Barry Windham defeated Trent Barreta and Jey Uso (Barreta pinned Uso, Windham pinned Barreta). Edge defeated D-Von Dudley and Eli Drake (Edge pinned Dudley, then Drake).

One more exciting night of GIW house show action saw the final three first-round King of The Ring matches take place, and it certainly made for an interesting night, setting up an intriguing second round.
Before the first match could get underway, Nigel McGuinness of the Great Britons exercised his right to challenge anyone for their spot, and he called out Angelo Dawkins. With his championship opportunity on the line, the Profit was aggressive from the onset, and it was a sprint of a match. McGuinness had to just survive for 10 minutes, but he wanted more. At the 9:48 mark, he ended it with a pendulum lariat.
Unfortunately for him, Jeff Jarrett sent out Scott Norton and Perry Saturn to start the three-way dance immediately, and they were fresh: Norton pinned McGuinness, Saturn pinned Norton.
Terry Gordy defeated Mark Henry and John Kronus (Henry pinned Kronus, Gordy pinned Henry).
In the final match, Bully Ray Dudley also had an advantage, based on prior performance: he could name any stipulation he wanted. Cleverly, he decided that his match deserved a special referee... his "brother" D-Von. The duo worked together, as you might imagine, while Jarrett simply watched.
Bully Ray Dudley defeated Owen Hart and Chuck Taylor (Dudley pinned Taylor, then "submitted" Hart when D-Von called for the bell).

The scene: the Best Friends, Chuck Taylor and Trent Barreta, are arriving at their hotel in Las Vegas after a long overnight trip.
Barreta: Looking forward to finally getting on TV. I have to admit, I had a few doubts, but so far so good.
Taylor: Indeed. Global Impact Wrestling is the very best promotion in the world.
Hotel Manager: ...who are you guys talking to? _______________
A few minutes later, the two wrestlers separate and head to their hotel rooms. As Barreta slides his key into the lock, he is attacked - from within! - by a much bigger man. In the dark chaos, Trent is punched and kicked and thrown about at will, as was Ricky Morton and Johnny Gargano before in separate attacks, as the almost 300-pounder yells, "Go back to Long Island, you wannabe!"
Meanwhile, Taylor is experiencing a similar beatdown in his pitch-black hotel room... and his adversary is an even larger man. The surprise attack was quick, but violent... and surely leading to something that will be revealed soon...

Breaking: the Eliminators are leaving Global Impact Wrestling! Unnamed sources are saying that GIW President/Chief Imagination Officer Jeff Jarrett and Perry Saturn had a loud confrontation backstage after the most recent television taping ended, and several wrestlers had to hold Saturn and Kronus back. They packed their bags later that night and left the territory.

Welcome to May 1st 2018. The first month of Event Horizon 2 is in the books, and as promised - the landscape of Mash-Up Wrestling has been irrevocably transformed. This post will attempt to sift through some of the aftershocks and rumors of this first - very turbulent - month.
GWA started with the smallest constituency and the largest goals. Eric Bischoff quickly diverted from having his Mania 1 show on PPV in favor of a more economical release on the Mash-Up Wrestling Network. This move may sacrifice dollars on the back end, but should guarantee a much larger viewing audience for what amounts to a Debut Show. Speaking of economics, rumors of Management Disputes were ripe within GWA - especially among the higher-priced talent. Batista in particular seems to have been a sore spot when it comes to contract renegotiation, which may have resulted in the release of popular Tommy Dreamer from GWA for budget reasons.
Also, Ricky Steamboat, Abyss, James Mitchell and Enzo Amore were dropped from NXT for what is said to be budgetary concerns as well. But it looks like the price of that fame comes in the form of former Mash-Up Wrestling WORLD Champion RIC FLAIR and his infinite credentials! WHOOOOOOO! NXT may have just hit a diamond plateau... or Flair the conman will bilk them for $$$ and never return their belt. We shall see!
Rumors also continued to swirl around the politics of finishes, that led to the departure of Seth Rollins from BCCW and an extended hiatus from HBK Shawn Michaels (who "lost his smile" on BCCW TV in January). Now critics are buzzing about an apparent powerplay that was made in GIW during the Main Event of their first TV Episode. If rumors are to be believed, Bully Ray was not the planned victor of the match - hence is tense interplay with Jeff Jarrett at ringside and sarcastic post match bows. If there's more to this story, it will be interesting to see how it plays out at the GIW King of the Ring Finals.
Injuries hit GWA with the loss of Big E. Langston, but his New Day brethren haven't missed a beat by teaming up with CM Punk on GWA programming heading into Mania 1. Also, as stated before, ad revenue as increased exponentially for Lucha Underground based on the strength of their recent programming. It's said ad time and sponsorship's for Ultima Lucha Dos are at their highest ever. Speaking of advertisement dollars, WWE is planning their return to primetime with WWE SNME and the Rock & DDP are carrying the brunt of the promotional efforts with their feud. These guys have the Late Night Talk Show circuits buzzing with their electric & personable appearances!
Stay tuned for more as the Mash-Up Wrestling calendar turns to May!

Backstage news for GWA
- After Sami Zayn's debut to the GWA roster after the huge trade between GWA and NXT where Eric Bischoff sent Kenny Omega to NXT for Sami Zayn. Eric Bischoff announced that if Zayn wants a shot at the Global Championship he will have to earn. So its been announced that it will be Sami Zayn vs Baron Corbin vs Sheamus in a triple threat match at Warzone with the winner getting a shot for the Global Championship at Aftershock.
- It has also been announced that neither Balor Club or the Undisputed Era will be given a shot for the tag titles at Aftershock and Rusev Day will take on the Fashion Police for a chance at taking on the New Day for the titles at Aftershock.
- Eric Bishoff announced that the GWA has in fact signed Steve Austin and he will be at Warzone. Bischoff and Austin don't have a great history so expect to see that brought up at Warzone this week.
- There are talks about when the MUW World Championship will be first defended in a GWA ring. Bischoff is hoping to get a deal done before his next major event that will be GWA Slam in August.
- It is rumored that the Undisputed Era will not be attending Warzone this week as they were given the night off. Be sure for them to be back with a vengeance when they return as Adam Cole is fixated on being the face that runs the place in GWA.

The scene: Jeff Jarrett's office, where he is putting together the undercard for GIW's first and upcoming pay-per-view.
Jarrett (murmuring): "Looks like I might have some guys doing double-duty that night... so, let's see... maybe if I book the debut of Aces High against, say, the Revival, that'll work. Mix things with a singles match or two... hmmm -"
Suddenly, a knock at his door. Without hesitation, a middle-aged man, obviously fit and intense, walks in.
Paul Ellering: "I hear that you've been looking for me."

The card for Global Impact Wrestling's first pay-per-view is taking shape; here is where we are thus far:
GIW WORLD TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: The Dudley Boyz OR the Hall of Pain vs. Edge and Christian OR the Main Event Machine
GIW INTERCONTINENTAL TAG-TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Curt Hennig and Brian Pillman vs. the U.S. Express
GIW KING OF THE RING CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Bully Ray Dudley vs. Paul Orndorff vs. Wade Barrett, Curt Hennig, OR Barry Windham
Aces High vs. the Revival
And more! What are the odds that GIW President and Chief Imagination Officer Jeff Jarrett adds some stipulations to these matches? You know the answer to that.

BREAKING NEWS:
WWE has sent a cease and desist letter to The Young Bucks & Cody over the “Too Sweet” hand gesture. Matt and Nick Jackson use The Kliq’s famous greeting in a variety of ways throughout their act in New Japan and Ring of Honor (ROH), and now Mash-Up Wrestling NXT. The legal document demands they stop using it or any other WWE intellectual property in the ring and on merchandise. Additionally, they want The Bucks agreement in writing to not use any other company IP in the future. Sources say the Jacksons have contacted their lawyers and are deciding how best to proceed. It’s unknown if they can or will fight the cease and desist.
This is not the first time The Bucks and Bullet Club have butted legal heads with WWE on their D-X and nWo-inspired gimmick. Matt and Nick have been talking jokingly on their Being The Elite YouTube series about how the company forbids them from using the “Suck It” crotch chops Triple H, Shawn Michaels, the New Age Outlaws and others made popular in The Attitude Era. While we can’t know for sure if this is a direct response to NXT Takeover, which drew a lot of attention on social media and in the Being The Elite episode released the next day - the timing sure seems like more than coincidence. WWE moved to trademark the “Too Sweet” sign as far back as March of 2015. Perhaps they just got clearance to take action on the claim, or perhaps they didn’t like Cody Rhodes’ jokes about papering shows and WWE champ Nick Bockwinkel, or Hangman Page wanting to plant a flag in Commissioner William Muldoon's posterior. Stay tuned. We certainly haven’t heard the last of this, either in court or in whatever way The Bucks figure out to reference and monetize it in their act.
