Juventud Guerrera & Psicosis defeated Fénix & Super Crazy by pinfall. This match was a high-flying, high-risk, lucha libre spot fest. All participants took to the air with reckless abandon. Highlights included: Juventud Guerrera performing a little Air Juvi on his opponents; Psicosis giving Super Crazy a diving hurricanara from the railing of the raised stands; Fénix executing a second-rope springboard corkscrew senton bomb on his opponents on the floor; and Super Crazy putting Guerrera through a table with a springboard moonsault. As the match was winding down, Fénix gave Psicosis a diving double knee drop to the chest. Then, he saw Guerrera and tried to strike him with a thrust kick, but Guerrera moved and he hit Super Crazy clear out of the ring. Guerrera took advantage of the miscue by giving Fénix a Juvi Driver and hooking his leg for the ring.
After the match, Super Crazy came back into the ring. As Fénix got up, he struck him with a thrust kick and then gave him a Crazy Bomb. Guerrera and Psicosis cheered on his assault and began to help him. They took turns pummeling away at him. They got carried away with their attack and showed him the ultimate sign of disrespect by pulling and ripping away at his mask. They expanded one of the eye holes into a large hole and rammed his face into an exposed turnbuckle. For their final act, they got a table out, placed the bloodied Fénix on it and Psicosis put him through it with a Psycho Guillotine.

We go into the Lucha Underground locker room, where we see Eddie Guerrero lacing up his boots as he prepares for his opportunity to win the Lucha Underground Championship. Rey Mysterio Jr. walks into the room. Mysterio gets the attention of his friend and congratulates him on all the luck that has come his way, but cautions him that as long as his luck is the kind that is given to him by Alberto El Patron, it is the kind that can just as easily be taken away by El Patron. Guerrero doesn’t take kindly to this warning and accuses Mysterio of being jealous of him. Mysterio says that he isn’t jealous because he knows that El Patron’s gifts are laced with poison. Guerrero says that he’s wrong and that El Patron is doing the right thing for la raza. Mysterio thinks that El Patron is only doing what is in his benefit. He cautions Guerrero that if he wins tonight, he needs to watch his back, because Alberto is the kind of guy who already has his long knives ready.

Beth Phoenix defeated Sexy Star by pinfall. It was the second defeat in a row for Sexy Star, which rarely happens. Sexy Star showed a mean streak that she hasn’t shown before her previous match against Bayley. After Phoenix took control and used her power to do damage to Sexy Star, culminating in dropping her from the ring to the floor with a gprilla press drop, Sexy Star got angry. Phoenix went outside to get Sexy Star. As she picked her up, Sexy Star pulled a steel chair out from under the ring and whacked Phoenix in the face with it. Then, she rammed her head against the turnbuckle post before returning her to the ring. Sexy Star was in control for several minutes thereafter, but Phoenix refuses to be pinned for a 3-count. When Sexy Star went to the top rope and attempted a diving crossbody, Phoenix caught her and gave her a backbreaker across her knee and then a fall away slam. Phoenix mounted a quick comeback that was followed by a quick back-and-forth exchange of offense, that ended with Phoenix sidestepping a thrust kick and gave her a Glam Slam for the win. While Phoenix celebrated, Sexy Star hit her with a chair and put her in a cross-arm breaker. Bayley came out and fought with Sexy Star, saving Phoenix and getting Sexy Star to retreat from the ring.

The match between Paul London and Eric Young ended in a no contest. London was accompanied to the ring by his fellow members of the Rabbit Tribe. They stayed out of the match. London and Young worked at a quick pace and employed similar styles throughout the contest. Their offense consisted largely of a variety of kicks and suplexes with the occasional high-risk maneuver thrown in for good measure. Highlight spots included London giving Young a somersault plancha and Young performing a moonsault off the top turnbuckle onto all three members of the Rabbit Tribe. The end came when London rolled out of the way of Young’s diving elbow drop. When they got up, London gave him a superkick followed by a springboard moonsault and then he went to the top rope to go Down the Rabbit Hole. Unfortunately, that’s when it happened. Three unknown figures showed up and assaulted him. Saltador and Mala Suarte tried to stop them, but they were beaten and battered by the group consisting of two men and one woman. Saltador was given a death valley driver from the tall blond, the woman gave Mala Suarte an inverted DDT on the ring apron followed by a whiplash neckbreaker from there to the floor, and the very large man gave London a forward fireman’s carry slam followed by a pair of senton bombs. Everyone in the ring looked demented. Young recovered, laughed hysterically, pushed the weirdos around and then led them out of the Temple.

Alberto El Patron is meeting with “Classy” Freddie Blassie and The Miz. He tells them that both Awesome Kong and Shinsuke Nakamura want to win the Gift of the Gods, so he either has to give them both individual matches against The Miz or have him defend it against both of them in one triple threat match. The Miz hates all of Alberto’s ideas and so Blassie makes the case that they should have a match against each other to determine who faces The Miz. Alberto likes this idea and agrees to it, but tells The Miz that he doesn’t get off so easily. He’s still going to defend the Gift of the Gods next week against Cesaro. The Miz protests but Alberto will hear none of it and tells Blassie to get his client out of his office before he adds an unfavourable stipulation to the match.

Ultimo Dragon defeated Eddie Guerrero by pinfall to retain the Lucha Underground Championship. This was a classic lucha libre contest blending technical wrestling skills with fast-paced aerial maneuvers. Both luchadores employed similar game plans as they each picked an opponent’s limb and focused their offense on weaken that body part. Ultimo Dragon picked Guerrero’s right leg, while Guerrero picked Ultimo Dragon’s left arm.
When the action spilled out to the floor, the fans were brought to their feet when Guerrero executed both a slingshot plancha and a plancha from the top turnbuckle, and when Ultimo Guerrero executed a topé suicida and an Asai moonsault. Battles on the top turnbuckle also occurred frequently, as Ultimo Dragon executed a Dragonsteiner and a fireman’s carry drop off from the second rope, and Guerrero executed a belly-to-back suplex from the second rope and a standing top-rope superplex. In all cases, pinfalls were attempted and only managed to get a 2-count. They attempted to force their opponents to submit, with both them trying out their own Mexican surfboards and camel clutches, to no avail. Ultimo Dragon attempted single-leg and Boston crabs, and Guerrero applied a STF and a figure-four leglock, none of which ended the match. The figure-four was reversed three times before Guerrero himself had to get a rope break.
As the match was nearing its end, Guerrero pulled off the Three Amigos and went to the top rope to go for the frog splash, but Ultimo Dragon rolled out of the way. Then, Ultimo Dragon executed the Asai DDT and pinned him. 1…2… shoulder up! Ultimo Dragon picked up Guerrero and went for a Dragonbomb, but Guerrero countered it into a hurricanrana with a pin for a 2-count. Then, Guerrero went for a running dropkick, but Ultimo Dragon moved and Guerrero ended up connecting with the referee, sending him flying across the ring. Then, Ultimo Dragon gave Guerrero a tombstone piledriver.
It was at that point, when the reinforcements showed up. Perro Aguyao Jr., Hector Garza, and Daga came out and attacked Ultimo Dragon. They laid him to waste, but then they were attacked and driven away from the ring by both Bad News Brown and Pentagon Jr., both of whom have become enemies of Alberto El Patron and Los Perros del Mal. At this time, Alberto El Patron came out of his office and directed Castro Cortez and Mr. Cisco to take care of business. Cortez hit Ultimo Dragon with his kendo stick while Mr. Cisco grabbed a steel chair. This prompted Rey Mysterio Jr. to come out to do the right thing. He fought off Alberto’s thugs, ultimately giving them both the Six-One-Nine.
Mysterio set his sights on grabbing the chair, but saw Alberto standing in the ring. The chair was between the two of them in the middle of the ring. Guerrero picked it up and looked at both of them. Guerrero asked Mysterio why he was trying to get in his way of achieving greatness. Mysterio told him that this wasn’t the way to achieve it. Alberto told him that the ends justify the means, and the end result of Guerrero becoming Lucha Underground Champion was what was best for la raza. Guerrero turned to face Alberto, but then turned around and nailed Mysterio with the chair! He sat down on him and began pounding away at him with his fists. Alberto was happy, but then he was unexpectedly knocked out of the ring by Ultimo Dragon with a running front dropkick. He then lifted Guerrero up off of Mysterio and gave him a brainbuster and pinned him. The referee was finally back to make the count. 1…2…3!
Ultimo Dragon collected his title and escaped out of the ring, helping Mysterio to get away. Alberto El Patron grabbed a microphone and said that Ultimo Dragon made a big mistake when he kicked him out of the ring and that he was lucky that he survived his match with Guerrero. However, next week, he won’t be so lucky because he’s going to defend his title against Alberto El Patron in a lumberjack match!
