First Match: Edge & Christian open the show by successfully defending their newly won North American Tag Team Championship Titles against the Rougeau Brothers. They won the match by pinfall when Christian pinned Raymond Rougeau after giving him a frog splash, as Edge hit Jacques Rougeau with a spear to prevent him from interfering with the pin.
Dario Cueto comes to the ring to promote the Rocky Mountain Warfare event, which is set to take place in Calgary, Alberta, on Sunday, May 8, 2016. He announces that it will feature Charlotte Flair defending her Women’s Championship against Sexy Star. Plus, there will be the Rocky Mountain Warfare match, a 30-man elimination match that starts with two wrestlers, with a new wrestler entering the match every 90-seconds, until only one wrestler remains. Eliminations are by pinfall or submission only. The winner of this match will go on to complete for the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Championship at AGPW’s biggest show of the year, Journey to Greatness 2016, on Sunday, June 19, 2016, in Vancouver, British Columbia! He tells everyone in the company to start earning their spots in the match!
Second Match: Trish Stratus defeated Madison Rayne by pinfall after giving her a Chick Kick. After the match, Stratus gets on the microphone, cutting a short promo about getting attacked by Gail Kim last week that ends with her challenging Kim to a match next week on The Titans of Grand Prix.
Third Match: Big Van Vader defeated the Cuban Assassin by pinfall after executing a Vader Bomb on him. After the match, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan announces that Vader – the mastodon from the Rocky Mountains – is entering the Rocky Mountain Warfare match, a match that is tailor made for him, and he will destroy the field on his way to winning the match. Heenan promises that Vader will win the opportunity to compete for the Mash-Up Wrestling World Championship at Journey to Greatness 2016!
Sensational Sherri, Batista and Samoa Joe come to Dario Cueto’s office. Sherri says that last week, he told them to do something to impress him so that they could get what they want, which is to compete against Ric Flair for the International Heavyweight Championship. Cueto says that their violent actions were very impressive and so he has decided to reward them. Next week, in our main event, there will be a tag team match between Batista & Samoa Joe and Bret Hart & Kurt Angle. The wrestlers on the team that wins will both earn a title match against Ric Flair! Sherri, Batista and Joe are happy with that arrangement.
Fourth Match: Tyson Kidd defeated Dean Malenko by pinfall. FACT. He won the match after executing a swinging fisherman’s suplex. FACT. He’s entering the Rocky Mountain Warfare match in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta. FACT. He says that he’s going to win it. QUESTIONABLE.
Fifth Match: Shinsuke Nakamura defeated the much bigger Canadian Earthquake by pinfall following a running Bomaye. Nakamura is announced as entering the Rocky Mountain Warfare match to try to win a title shot for the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Championship.
In a backstage interview with Jeremy Borash, AGPW Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair cuts a promo on Sexy Star saying that her recent rise from obscurity to the #1 contender is a nice Cinderella story, but it is about to be stopped dead in its tracks. The Women’s Champion will remain the Women’s Champion. She also tells us that her father, the AGPW International Heavyweight Champion and Mash-Up Wrestling’s World Heavyweight Champion, “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, will be here next week and he’s not happy with Dario Cueto’s decision to turn his next title defense into a triple threat match! Will the “Nature Boy” get all up in El Jefe’s face? Tune in next week to find out!
Sixth Match: Leo Burke defeated “Killer” Karl Krupp by disqualification when Krupp shoved the deliberately shoved the referee as he tried to get Krupp to let go of an illegal chokehold. Krupp then continued to assault Burke until he left the ring to pick up his riding crop. He brought it back into the ring to whip Burke with it, but Burke pulled a pair of brass knuckles out from his tights and then waited for Krupp to return before knocking him out with a stiff right hook!
