International Heavyweight Championship Match
“Nature Boy” Ric Flair vs. Cesaro
International Heavyweight Championship Match
“Nature Boy” Ric Flair vs. Cesaro
For winning a best of seven series with Dean Malenko, Cesaro earned the opportunity to compete for the AGPW International Heavyweight Championship Title on the first televised show of 2016. As chance would have it, Cesaro’s opportunity to win the International Heavyweight Championship would come against “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Champion, who won the title in a champion versus champion match against Samoa Joe at War on the East Coast 2015. In a grueling and dramatic match, aired on the January 13th edition of The Titans of Grand Prix, Cesaro and Flair tore the house down in a 30-minute contest that saw Cesaro knocking on the door of championship glory. However, Cesaro’s big moment of glory was not to be, as the “Bulgarian Brute” Rusev would run down and attack him at the precise moment that he was preparing to give Flair the Neutralizer.
The next week, Rusev explained that he was fed up with having people less deserving than him getting chances to win the IHC Title before him, which is why he attacked Cesaro. He said that no one should get to win the title before him. Then, Rusev and his manager, Prince Nana, demanded that they finally be able to use their contract for an IHC Title Match, which Rusev earned by winning the 2015 Canada Cup tournament. Cesaro interrupted his attempt to submit the contract to Commissioner Billy Two Rivers and argued that if Rusev is allowed to get away with taking away his opportunity to win the IHC Title, then he should be allowed to take away Rusev’s opportunity. Cesaro challenged Rusev to a match with the IHC Title Match contract on the line. On January 27, Cesaro and Rusev wrestlerd in the main event of The Titans of Grand Prix and Cesaro defeated Rusev to win the title match contract, which he then immediately tendered for a rematch against Flair at Winter Warfare 2016.

Women’s Championship Match
Charlotte Flair vs. Chyna
Women’s Championship Match
Charlotte Flair vs. Chyna
Charlotte Flair has been the AGPW Women’s Champion since winning the title at Journey to Greatness 2015. She has now held the championship for over half a year and shows no signs of slowing down. During her title reign, she has been faced with a few big challenges. Some of her more notable title defenses have been against Awesome Kong, Ivelisse Vélez, Natalya Neidhart and Gail Kim, among others. She’s turned away every challenger she has faced to this point. So what makes this title match any different? This one is against the Ninth Wonder of the World (the Eighth being André The Giant).
Chyna is no ordinary woman. Her AGPW record is sterling. She once defeated Awesome Kong in a Last Woman Standing Match. That is how much of a bad ass Chyna is. In fact, she only had one loss on her record (not counting DQs or countouts), which was to Trish Stratus only a year and a half ago. She left the company for a year, and then upon making her return, she vanquished that loss by scoring a clean victory over Stratus at War on the East Coast 2015. Chyna has been nothing short of dominant since making her return to AGPW just a few months ago. She has quickly risen up through the ranks of the AGPW Women’s Division and has earned herself a shot at the Women’s Championship.
The narrative building anticipation for this match is that it will pit two women who are at the top of their game against one another in a contest to prove themselves to be the best woman in the best women’s wrestling division in the Mash-Up Wrestling Universe. The woman who proves she is the best is the one who will win this match and walk out of Québec City as the AGPW Women’s Champion.

North American Tag Team Championship Match
Edge & Christian vs. Bret Hart & Chris Jericho
North American Tag Team Championship Match
Edge & Christian vs. Bret Hart & Chris Jericho
This tag team match features the four most successful Canadian wrestlers of all-time. Edge & Christian and Bret Hart & Chris Jericho have been feuding for a really long time, but this is the first time they will ever face each other as one tag team versus the other. Over a year ago, Christian and Chris Jericho were friends and tag team partners. Last spring, that partnership ended. Then, Edge debuted by spearing Chris Jericho during the Rocky Mountain Warfare match to try to help Christian win it, along with the right to wrestle for the Mash-Up World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Journey to Greatness 2015.
Edge and Christian were reunited and they used their partnership to go after the International Heavyweight Championship, which was held by Bret Hart. With the help of Christian, Trish Stratus and Test, Edge won the IHC Title from Hart. Not long after that, Jericho formed a partnership with Hart because he wanted to get revenge against Edge and Christian, who had temporarily put him on the shelf with a con-chair-to.
In the run up to Mayhem in Montréal 2015, where all four men met inside of the Elimination Chamber, fan reaction forced a double-turn. Edge and Christian became faces while Hart and Jericho became heels. None of these four men won that match, but the very nature of the contest didn’t resolve anyone’s hard feelings towards each other and so they continued to feud into War on the East Coast 2015, where both teams were entered into the Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match for the North American Tag Team Titles. Edge and Christian won the match and the titles.
Since then, Edge and Christian have successfully retained their titles in a match against the former champions. Meanwhile, Hart and Jericho stuck together with the goal of becoming number contenders, telling Jeremy Borash that they would like nothing more than to take the belts off of their bitter enemies. After wins against the Rougeaus and the Vachons, Hart and Jericho got their wish by being named #1 contenders. Finally, both teams will face each other 2-on-2 for the first time.

Kurt Angle w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Batista w/ Sensational Sherri
Kurt Angle w/ Miss Elizabeth vs. Batista w/ Sensational Sherri
To explain how this match came to be, one has to go back to last year, when “Macho Man” Randy Savage and “The Animal” Batista were engaged in an epic blood feud, which was supposed to culminate with their Falls Count Anywhere Match at War on the East Coast 2015. This blood feud began with Sensation Sherri returning to AGPW to make ominous threats to the Macho Man and to announce that she had found a new king. The new king was Batista and he attacked Savage at every opportunity. When they had their first match, Batista took a loss via disqualification for putting Savage through both ringside announce team tables. This put Savage on the shelf for about two months. Then, he returned to exact his revenge on Batista. Both men couldn’t be in the same building without coming to blows and tearing it apart, which became the impetus of their Falls Count Anywhere Match. Savage lost this match by getting thrown from above an arena entrance through a stack of tables. This, of course, only happened after Savage was shocked by the presence of Miss Elizabeth, who was seated in the audience.
Savage broke Miss Elizabeth’s heart way back in the summer of 2014. This began after Savage headlined the first ever Journey to Greatness against the then Mash-Up World Heavyweight Champion “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. The Texas Rattlesnake’s indignity and total lack of respect for Savage drove him deep into the Macho Madness. After losing that match, Savage brushed Miss Elizabeth aside and joined forces with the evil-minded Sensational Queen Sherri, who orchestrated their break up as a means to gain control of a spectacular wrestler who could hurt Chris Jericho for calling her a sleazy, bottom-feeding, trash-bag ho (and other things along those lines).
Miss Elizabeth came out on an episode of The Titans of Grand Prix this past month to do a sit down interview with Vampiro. In this interview, she explained that she had not seen Saavage in about a year and a half and that she bought a ticket to the event because she was worried that he had gotten in over his head with this Falls Count Anywhere Match against Batista. She recognized that Batista is a ruthless animal and she knows that such a wrestler is especially dangerous when put in the hands of Sensational Sherri, who is the vilest human being she has ever known. While she couldn’t bear to watch, she had to be there to watch the Macho Man because deep down she knew she still loved him.
Sensational Sherri and her animal, Batista, showed up to interrupt the interview. Sherri took exception to being vilified. She bullied Miss Elizabeth and told her that she took great pleasure in having Miss Elizabeth watch as Batista ended Savage’s career. She physically intimidated her and eventually slapped Elizabeth in the face when she refused to retract her statement about Sherri being the worst human being she has ever known. Vampiro stood up to defend Miss Elizabeth and got into a physical confrontation with Batista, which didn’t end well for him. When Sherri ordered Batista to give Miss Elizabeth the Batista Bomb, Kurt Angle finally came out to make the save, saying that it was the right thing to do. He also accused Batista and Sherri of lacking integrity, one of the pillars of Angle’s Three I’s.

Alberto El Patron vs. Rusev vs. Ted DiBiase
Alberto El Patron vs. Rusev vs. Ted DiBiase
Alberto El Patron, Rusev and the “Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase had a partnership known as the International Ministry of Finance. This partnership was formed in February, 2015. Their partnership saw three top tier wrestling talents with great financial resources behind them come together to use their talent, wealth and influence to get to the top. El Patron comes from a wealthy Mexican family that is lucha libre royalty. DiBiase is a self-made American multi-millionaire and Rusev is the prize fighter of the wealthy Ghanaian Prince Nana, heir to the Ashanti Kingdom.
Rich in wrestling ability and with deep pockets that enabled them to buy influence and corrupt officials in the wrestling world, their alliance worked wonders for them early on in the year. El Patron and DiBiase won the North American Tag Team Championship Titles in April and set the record for the longest title reign to date, holding the belts for 238 days before losing them at the final AGPW event of the year, War on the East Coast 2015. On July 1, Rusev won the Canada Cup tournament, which entitled him to a contract for an International Heavyweight Championship Title Match.
However, as 2015 started to wind down the IMF’s luck began to sour. As previously mentioned, El Patron and DiBiase lost the titles while defending them against three other teams in a Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match. On January 27, Rusev lost his IHC Title Match contract to Cesaro. In-fighting amongst the members of the group started to happen, first between DiBiase and El Patron, as they blew a chance to regain the titles by losing their contract rematch to Edge & Christian and then blamed each other for the loss. Rusev and Prince Nana, who had already started distancing themselves from the group, were unimpressed, but they themselves were ridiculed by their allies because Rusev lost his big match against Kurt Angle at War on the East Coast and then later lost his much coveted IHC Title Match contract. Tensions finally boiled over on the February 3 edition of The Titans of Grand Prix when they competed in and lost a 6-man tag team match against Dean Malenko, Rey Mysterio Jr. and Ultimo Dragon. At the conclusion of that match, each member of the IMF turned against one another, which lead to this match being signed.

The Vachon Brothers vs. The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers
The Vachon Brothers vs. The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers
Back at Mayhem in Montréal 2015, Jacques and Raymond Rougeau, who were not scheduled to be on the card, came to the ring and cut a promo where they spoke poorly about the current state of Québec wrestling and claimed that it would never improve unless they moved back home. However, they said that they were very happy in their new home city of Memphis, Tennessee. Mad Dog and Butcher Vachon showed up to defend La Belle Province and cleared the ring of the Rougeaus. The next week, right here in Québec City, the two teams squared off in a match that saw the Rougeaus cheat their way to victory. The two teams would continue to feud into War on the East Coast 2015, where they were on opposite sides of a big 10-man tag team match. The feud has since continued and now the Vachons looked to get a win back against the Rougeaus in their re-match from three months ago while the Rougeaus look to prove that no one from Québec can beat the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers.

The Acadian Giant vs. The Canadian Earthquake
The Acadian Giant vs. The Canadian Earthquake
The two largest Canadian athletes in professional wrestling, and the two largest wrestlers in AGPW, The Acadian Giant and The Canadian Earthquake teased confrontations starting in November. When they finally came to blows, it happened within a much larger brawl, which then saw themselves face each other as members of opposite teams in a 10-man tag team match at War on the East Coast 2015. That match didn’t really resolve the question of which of the two behemoths can win in a fight, which is why we have this match on the card for Winter Warfare 2016. Finally, we’ll learn who the toughest and scariest monster in AGPW is when The Acadian Giant and The Canadian Earthquake go one-on-one for the first time.

6-Woman Tag Team Match
Bayley, Sexy Star & Natalya Neidhart vs. The Beautiful People
6-Woman Tag Team Match
Bayley, Sexy Star & Natalya Neidhart vs. The Beautiful People
This 6-Woman Tag Team Match was signed following months of feuding between The Beautiful and Bayley & Sexy Star. The origins of this feud date back to the AGPW television debuts of Bayley and Madison Rayne. Bayley is the friendly and awestruck girl living out her dream to become a professional wrestler. Madison Rayne was the messenger of the Mi Pi Sexy Sorority, a group of glamourous mean girls who also call themselves the Beautiful People. She bullied Bayley and stole her television interview time. Many weaks of bullying from Rayne, Angelina Love and Velvet Sky followed that initial confrontation in early November. Eventually, Sexy Star got dragged into the feud by being the surprise opponent from Madison Rayne in her first match and beating her. Sexy Star also beat Velvet Sky in a singles match two weeks later. However, The Beautiful People’s Velvet Sky and Rayne defeated Bayley & Sexy Star in a tag team match at War on the East Coast 2015.
Recently on The Titans of Grand Prix, The Beautiful People sought to embarrass Bayley and Sexy Star, attacking them after Sexy Star defeated Angelina Love in singles competition. Bayley came out to try to save Sexy Star from the assault, but failed. The Beautiful People finished off their attack by placing paper bags over the heads of Bayley and Sexy Star. The following week, when Bayley got brave enough to come to the ring and make an open challenge to anyone from The Beautiful People, all three members showed up to bully her 3-on-1. Sexy Star came out to help Bayley. It was beginning to look the events from the previous week would repeat themselves, but then Natalya Neidhart came out to help Bayley and Sexy Star even the score.
