BCCW sprang from the earth in the Northeast of the United States, and took a life of its own. It started with the Broken City Throwdown - a timeless challenge through the eons to every professional wrestling contender in existence. The one chance to validate their mighty claims, and determine the "TRUE" champion of fantasy wrestling. Title holders claiming such luminary championships as the "Undisputed Championship", World Wide Wrestling Federation, KotD and yes... even the WWE title, came to answer the hallowed call. Through a series of challenges over the course of its existence, each major title was slowly absorbed into ONE Grand Master title - the BCCW Championship. The heaviest crown in fantasy professional wrestling. Just as BCCW seemed to be on the brink of breaking through to the next level of global growth, it was rocked by a scandal at it's core. Founding fathers the Gold Dust Trio Inc were awash in accusations of corruption, money-laundering and even murder. It cast a dark shadow over the prestigious organization, until it was rescued from the depths of despair by its noble champion. A man who had forged the BCCW Championship in the fire of a dozen title defenses. This BCCW Champion, and Hero of Light bestowed ownership of the company's future upon solid group of investors who led the league to even greater heights. But then - everything changed.
Tragedy struck when the BCCW champion was the victim of an organized hit! Information is scarce, but apparently the injury (specifically to the ankle) may prevent the champion from ever competing again. Who is responsible? Not even the champion could identify his assailant(s), only that the attack occurred outside his Gym in MA after hours, and that it was swift and calculated. News of the attack through the fantasy wrestling world into a tither. Now that the crown gem of fantasy wrestling had finally been forged - THE definitive fantasy wrestling championship - it has been ruthlessly vacated. Now - new ownership has taken over BCCW - and promised to crown the penultimate wrestling champion with the greatest title in fantasy wrestling history - the BCCW Championship. So begins the "Broken City Throwdown II"!!! The open call-to-arms to every great wrestling champion in the sports history. 16 slots are open in a world title bracket - single elimination style - designed to crown the new BCCW champion. The greatest championship in fantasy wrestling history - one with a lineage stretching back to the days of Spartacus himself - arises from the flames like a phoenix. Broken City Championship Wrestling presents the "Broken City Throwdown II". Only the strong survive. When news of this tourney broke across the dimensions of space and time, legends awoken from their slumber. Introducing the Announce team for the evening:Gordon Solie & Matt StrikerTonight, the Throwdown has been declared. The BCCW Squared Circle is set; the stage upon which millions of fantasy wrestling fans eyes are trained. Who will answer the call? Who will take the challenge? 16 spots in the Grand Masters tourney are available. Tonight, the final brackets will be revealed. Meanwhile, backstage correspondent MSD has vowed to continue his investigation into who crippled the former BCCW champion. While many questions still remain, one thing is crystal clear - the future of the fantasy wrestling universe will be altered TONIGHT. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ ** CUT TO RINGSIDE **FARMER BURNS: Ladies and gentlemen, I have never met an amateur wrestler the like of this fellow in my life. If he will go with me, I will make him champion of America in a few months!!5'11" 210 lbs fighting out of Humboldt, Iowa... Introducing FRANK GOTCH!!! Frank Gotch was world heavyweight wrestling champion from 1908 to 1915, the best known athlete of his era. He wrestled in the rough and tumble mining camps of Alaska, and in front of 31,000 fans in Chicago. Frank Gotch rubbed shoulders with some of the most interesting figures in early American history. You will meet Teddy Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States; legendary wrestlers Farmer Burns and The Russian Lion; boxing champions James Jeffries, James Corbett and Jack Johnson; and Wyatt Earp, hero of the Old West. They're all here in the Story of Frank Gotch, the world's greatest wrestler!
All-American ring entrance for the hero. He warmly greets host MSD and mentor Farmer Burns before waving to the crowd. MSD gushes over Gotch's personal accomplishments in the world of wrestling, and it's clear that many of the die-hard fans in the crowd came here tonight to see him. Gotch's step-over toe hold is a feared and devastating finisher. Something the former BCCW champion had given tribute to with his own match-ending submission specialty. The former champion DID suffer a devastating injury to his ankle and leg, something Gotch's hold is known to do. But before Frank Gotch can address the gathering himself, they are rudely interrupted by "AYE YO!!!" cutting through the arena soundsystem.Enter SCOTT HALL!!! The strut, the swagger, the utter disrespect. Big Scott Hall gives Gotch the "Chico" treatment and declares his own dominion over the BCCW Squared Circle. Frank Gotch doesn't deserve a spot in the Tourney any more than the Bad Guy! Challenge! Toothpick!SCOTT HALL: Well, well, well. You people know who I am, but you don't know why I'm here. So this is where the Big Boys play? This is a joke. Where, is the Nacho Man (RIP)? That guy couldn't even get in the building. Me, I go where I want, when I want! Where's billionaire Ted, Vinny-Mac and Trixie Dixie? And where, oh where, is MSD? Cuz boy, do I have a scoop for him. You want a war??? You got one. We're taking over!!! 1)FRANK GOTCH versus SCOTT HALL (Championship Qualifier) versus Gotch schools Hall out the gate with a variety of take downs and tosses. Hall tries to brawl with him and it only lights a fire in the great Frank Gotch. Finally Gotch is felled by a mule kick to the crown jewels and Scott Hall takes over. Discus punch, abdominal stretch, Fall-away slam. But Gotch won't stay down for the count. Finally, Gotch reverses off a Razor's Edge attempt and mounts the comeback. He's a house afire as the BCCW crowd cheers their approval. Ref bump leads to a surprise run-in... Introducing X-PAC!!! Spinning wheel kick off the top rope! KO! Hall steals the pin fall! As X-Pac and Hall rejoice and celebrate in the aisle, MSD approaches for comment. Scott Hall is in the Grand Master Tourney where they promise to win the BCCW championship and take it to the grimiest strip club in Brockton to celebrate. But as much as they would like to claim responsibility, they weren't the ones who took out the former champ. They're just here to fill the void! Meanwhile, Frank Gotch is still stunned from his rude awakening. Welcome to the '90s, champ!!! Winner: SCOTT HALL______________________________________________________________________________________________ Back to ringside, "Insane in the Membrane" by Cypress Hill rocks the crowd. Enter the maniacal, underground legend known both for his scientific acumen as well as his ultra-violence - an explosive combination of styles that birthed the name "Psycho Shooter"...Introducing DRAKE YOUNGER!!! In-ring, with his Ultra-violent Championship belt, Rocky Marciano-inspired boxers robe and barbed-wire wrapped steel chair, he cuts a frenzied promo on his exclusion from the Tourney brackets. With his reputation and resume in professional wrestling, he should be an automatic lock. But instead, he will do what he does best tonight - prove his worth! And unfortunately, while he's not the guy who took out the former champ, he will be MORE than happy to take out any challengers to the vacant throne! Open challenge to anybody tough enough, sick enough and crazy enough to do battle with the "Psycho Shooter"! Answering his call tonight will be...5'8" 230 lbs Fighting out of Vienna, Austria Introducing STANISLAUS ZBYSZKO!!! Zbyszko is a strongman and professional wrestler, and was most popular in the United States during the 1920s. He was one of the most influential European grapplers of all-time, and among the sport’s great pioneer champions. His legacy in wrestling history continues with acts like Wladek and Larry Zbyszko carrying the surname. Tonight, Zbyszko has returned to put his stamp on the Grand Masters tourney and earn his shot at the BCCW Championship!!!2) STANISLAUS ZBYSZKO versus DRAKE YOUNGER (Championship Qualifier) versus Good, stiff match between the two with Zbyszko flaunting his strength and power with impressive suplexes and overhead tosses, while Younger shows his resilience and durability. He targets Stanislaus' knees and brings the bear of a man to the mat, where he grinds and wears him out. When Zbyszko begins his comeback, the toys come into play. But in the end, Zbyszko no-sells a kendo stick shot to the back and squashes Younger with an explosive sit-out Dominator onto a steel chair for the pin! Winner: STANISLAUS ZBYSZKO** CUT TO COMMERCIAL **______________________________________________________________________________________________ 5'7" 240 lbs Fighting out of Lahore - The City of Wrestlers and Warriors Introducing THE GREAT GAMA"In India, wrestling is as old as written history. Indian wrestlers are huge men almost as big as the sumo giants of Japan. However, no man can become champion through brute force alone. There are a thousand "holds" in Indian wrestling, and the most skillful grapplers like Great Gama reign supreme. His real name was Ghulam Mohammed. A Muslim of Kashmiri wrestling stock. Gama defeated all comers in India with rare exception. His victories over foreign wrestlers include Stanislaus Zbyszko (Poland), Dr. Benjamin Roller (U.S.), Johann Lemm (Switzerland), Maurice Deriaz (France), Jesse Peterson (Sweden), etc.
Although he challenged many others including Japanese judo champion Taro Miyake, no one dared to come forward. Georg Hackenschmidt and Frank Gotch also declined to face Gama or others of his troupe. According to Nat Fleischer of Ring Magazine he was the only grappler of modern times who could have been a master of both Gotch and Hackenschmidt. Gama was employed by the Maharajah of Datia after the death of Gama's father, Aziz Pehelwan. Later he was patronized by the Maharajah of Patiala. After patition of India, Gama moved to the new state of Pakistan where he lived with his brother, Indian Champion Imam Bux and nephews: the famous Bholu Brothers".The Great Gama has answered the Broken City Throwdown. The scepter is weilds is not one born of royalty, or pomp and circumstance. It is the equivalent of India's World Heavyweight championship, and the Great Gama has brought it ashore to defend it. Great Gama is a man of honor. Some would say the Great Gama practices hustle, loyalty and respect. So if he were to be responsible for vanquishing a great American hero, it wouldn't be by nefarious means in some back alley somewhere. It would be in the heart of a BCCW ring where only the proudest warriors do battle. The Great Gama is coming to Broken City to prove he is the one TRUE Fantasy Wrestling champion. The Great Gama and his "Gurz" - a traditional Indo-Pakistani Trophy awarded to Champion Wrestlers (Phelwans) at Wrestling Competition (Dungals) for over 400 years. The Gurz are handmade and vary in design and size, sometimes made out of silver or gold with inlaid precious stones. The Gurz is a symbol of spirit, strength and skill. The Gurz are still awarded to the best all around competitor, making the Dungals truly a part of the tradition.** CUT TO RINGSIDE ** ______________________________________________________________________________________________ "AWWWWEESSSSSOOOOOOOOMMMME!!!!"The MIZ and his lackey Alex Riley make their triumphant in-ring debut in BCCW. His arrival, while anticipated in his own mind like Y2J's Millennium Countdown clock - was received more like Snooki at WrestleMania 27 - straight BOOS. Typical self-aggrandizing promo from the New Millennium Roddy Piper, as he touts all his championship victories and defenses, all in the face of a million haters and doubters. Alex Riley nods in agreement. It was he who opened the door for his mentor's arrival in BCCW - Alex Riley's answer to Farmer Burns' recommendation of Frank Gotch to the BCCW Booking Committee. Now the Miz demands his piece of the pie and inclusion in the Grand Masters Tourney. His braying, self-indulgent "because I'm the MIZ and I'm AWWEE....." catchphrase is suddenly cut off by the opening strains of "Pomp & Circumstance!" Oh My! Could it be...? NOPE! SWERVE!!!Introducing... "Black Machismo" JAY LETHAL!!!In the aisle, Jay Lethal performs his spot-on impersonation of the Macho Man, and in honor of the recently deceased, ACCEPTS Miz's challenge tonight! RIP Randy Savage!!! Let's get it on!!! 4) THE MIZ versus JAY LETHAL (Championship Qualifier) versus High-speed, fast-paced, new millennium match with each man trading offense and match momentum swinging wildly. Jay Lethal has the victory, when Alex Riley's interference results in a Skull Crushing Finale from the Miz for the pin fall. Post match, Lethal disputes the call before bum rushing the cheating due out of the ring and closing with a crowd-pleasing Macho Man top rope elbow drop to Alex Riley. Lethal is enraged by the loss, Riley feels the wrath, but the Miz's sly victorious grin cannot be concealed. Winner: THE MIZ______________________________________________________________________________________________ 6'2" 220 lbs Fighting out of Tokyo, Japan... Introducing ANTONIO INOKI!!! In what turned out to be the Immortal Hulk Hogan's last match in BCCW - he lost via count out to Antonio Inoki during the very first BCCW Qualifiers match (held in Japan). Today, Inoki returns to American shores not as an evil foreign menace - but instead as a hero to fight fans and fantasy wrestling fanatics the world over. He disposed of arguably the most overrated act in fantasy wrestling history by deflating Hulkamania and preventing the Hulksters inclusion in the Grand Masters Tourney. There were some who believed Hogan may have been responsible for taking out the former champ, but his lack of desire to really capitalize on the championship void left behind only proved he didn't have the heart or desire to be a TRUE fantasy wrestling champion. Inoki on the other hand, was not even in the same country when the attack on the former BCCW champ occurred. He has studied, practiced and perfected his art all for this one chance at glory. The BCCW championship.Inoki gets the mega-star entrance, complete with pyro, laser show and a train of geisha girls. He takes the ring to massive cheers and politely addresses his audience of supporters. Just as Inoki is staking his claim in the BCCW title tournament, and displaying his Nationalistic pride... he is rudely interrupted by the sound of a car horn honking fervently... Enter ALBERTO DEL RIO!!! The cocky Del Rio spews hyperbole, equating his success and legacy in Mexico to Inoki's history in Japan. BCCW is truly an international affair, and the only title worthy of "WORLD" status must be contended by all comers. Not only is this a battle of great champions, it is a test of heritage. Purereso vs Lucha Libre. Which came first? Which is most pure? Who's style is better??? Del Rio says it is HIM (but you already know that). Del Rio has come all this way, not to sneak attack an American, but to challenge a wrestling Deity. Del Rio vs Inoki: BCCW Masters Tourney! Oh my, these 1st round opponents will meet next month when the tourney kicks off on the West Coast! Inoki accepts, and the epic-level stare down between the two men (framed by a dozen nervous, anxious Diplomats trying to keep the peace) will go on to become an iconic image. Alberto Del Rio vs Antonio Inoki!!!** CUT ** ______________________________________________________________________________________________ 6) MMA JEFF JARRETT versus UNNAMED JOBBER (Championship Qualifier) versus Jarrett is in the ring, MMA-gloves and shorts on with a house mic in his hands. Jarrett is an expert shooter and hooker, hence is eager entry into the BCCW World Title tourney. Everybody is asking who crippled the champ? While Jarrett can't claim responsibility, he is certainly willing to demonstrate to the world HOW it could have been done IF Jeff Jarrett had been behind the attack. He asks for volunteers from the audience, call-and-response segment, before settling in on the aforementioned jobber. Starts out fine enough, with Jarrett stressing it's an exhibition - before he inexplicably and viciously begins roughing the young man up. Jarrett stretches and hooks the helpless victim before making him tap out repeatedly to an ankle lock. Winner (by submission): JEFF JARRETTPost match Jarrett on the mic again for another grating, heelish boast session. But this time - he's cut off by "I Walk Alone"! Enter BATISTA!!!Batista promises to show Jarrett what real MMA-Shoot fighting-pro wrestling-BCCW style is all about! Luckily for Jarrett and his MMA exhibitions, he'll have a chance to showcase his skills - because Jarrett drew Batista's name in the 1st round! See you on the West Coast, Jeff! Jarrett looks shook to death! Batista has made quite a run through BCCW - like a meat cleaver through a side of raw beef. He dispatched of such luminary fantasy warriors as Hulk Hogan, Triple H and Haystacks Calhoun, all under the BCCW banner. But did he cripple the champ??? Lord knows big Dave has learned plenty of crippling hooks working with Ceaser Gracie's camp. Post segment (after Batista stared down Jarrett right out of the ring to huge applause), the Animal was approached by backstage correspondent MSD and questioned about the attack on the former champ. Batista was at a movie premiere on the opposite end of the country when that attack occurred, and has the backstage celebrity gift basket to prove it. Another suspect cleared. BATISTA** CUT ** ______________________________________________________________________________________________ 7) BRISCO BROS versus NEW AGE OUTLAWS versus Segment starts with an in-ring promo from the Brisco Bros. They are very happy to be back in BCCW (see "Marciano Cup" for their first appearance) and are eager to prove to the fans that they belong in BCCW, where the legends live. Just then, they are rudely cut off by a loud voice bellowing "OOOOHHH, YOU DIDN'T KNOW? " Enter the NEW AGE OUTLAWS!!! (circa 1998) On the mic Road Dogg runs through his disrespectful shtick, with Billy Gunn co-signing every joke and insult. After one barb too many, Jack Brisco finally hauls off and socks Road Dogg in the jaw - signaling the start of the match! Brisco Bros control with fluid teamwork and quick tags, but NAO come back after a series of illegal maneuvers (like face rakes, eye pokes and low blows). Gerald Brisco plays face-in-peril until the big hot tag to his brother Jack. The former NWA World champion clears the ring with body slams, backdrops and uppercuts. Ultimately, Road Dogg gets caught in Jack Brisco's Figure-4 leglock, and the only yapping he's doing now is crying uncle. Brisco's by submission. Winners: BRISCO BROS______________________________________________________________________________________________ 8) ALOISIA the AMAZON versus BULL NAKANO (c) w/ David Otunga (WWW Championship) versus Aloisia the Amazon is the future, but somewhere in the past Bull Nakano continues to lurk. Her indomitable fighting spirit and skill (circa 1995) has been accentuated by David Otunga's ruthless and Machiavellian brilliance - bringing her the WWW Championship in convincing fashion. Here, Bull Nakano and Aloisia get the big match entrance and a spot on the card worthy of their clash. Good, solid 6 minute match with Otunga providing just enough crowd interaction on the outside to engage all spectators. Nakano finishes with an impressive body slam, and then spikes Aloisia with a top rope leg drop for the pin (all while Otunga holds Aloisia's foot down from outside the ring). Winner (and STILL WWW Champion): BULL NAKANO______________________________________________________________________________________________ 9) KEN SHAMROCK versus JACK SWAGGER (Championship Qualifier) versus Jack Swagger is cornered by Shooters Club brethren Lou Thesz, Dan Severn and Masahiko Kimura. Shamrock on the other hand is flanked by a few anonymous Lions Den soldiers, but astute viewers might catch a glimpse of the feared Ed "Strangler" Lewis seconding him as well. His appearance is not acknowledged during the broadcast. This match was specifically requested by both parties. It is a rematch of their epic "Submission Only" match at BCCW presents: "FIRST HIT IS 4 FREE" that Shamrock won with his crippling ankle lock (proving once and for all who invented that move in the wrestling lexicon). Excellent match with the larger Swagger using leverage to counteract Shamrock's bursts of strength. Crippling submission holds, counters and reversals. Escalates into a suplex seminar. In the end, Swagger misses a SwaggerBomb attempt from the second rope, but catches himself before impact. Unfortunately he tweaks his already sore ankle on the landing and becomes blood in the water. Shamrock mercilessly targets the weakened appendage and after a series of dramatic roll-throughs and counters, Swagger finally succumbs to a super ankle-lock w/ leg grapevine in the center of the ring. Winner (by submission): KEN SHAMROCK______________________________________________________________________________________________ 10) THE CULPRIT(S) REVEALEDMSD is in the ring for the show-closing ceremonies, when he is suddenly cut off by the instrumental to "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" by Kanye West. Enter the Diamond Dynasty!!! They're BACK in BCCW!!! "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers, Bobby Heenan and the Million $$$ Champion Dolph Ziggler make their way into the ring with much pomp and fanfare. They look fresh, dressed like a zillion bucks. Heenan rips the mic from MSD's hand. Reintroduces his men. Ziggler on the mic next, reiterating his greatness and unparalleled run with the Million $$$ Championship in BCCW. Finally the OG "Nature Boy" has the stick and admits to being the assassin! It was him all along! While Ziggler held the champ down, Rogers finished the job. You should have seen his ankle snap in the Figure-4 leglock! To a nicer guy it couldn't happen! Now the title is vacant - the same title Buddy Rogers once held - and Rogers is back to claim what's his!!! MSD questions his claims, until Rogers procures one of the former champs dog tags from his pocket. A sick souvenir of sorts. Crowd is voracious in their hatred for the Dynasty. Rogers is right in the middle of cutting an intense promo, claiming to be the most dangerous hooker and shooter in the game right now, when they are cut off by ominous music...Enter SAMOA JOE!!!The deadly Samoan makes his BCCW debut, towel draped over his head and fire in his eyes. He boldly enters the ring and stands opposite the Dynasty. They are aghast by the utter disrespect he has shown. Samoa Joe addresses Ziggler first, promising to take his belt down to the Check Cashing place. Then he challenges Buddy Rogers nose to nose, promising to choke him out on his path of rage. Suddenly, the arena is pitched into shades of black and orange - as a heart monitor beeps then flatlines...Enter TAZ!!!! (circa 2000) Surprisingly, Taz steps directly to Samoa Joe! Taz IS the path of rage, and if any time line impostor or poseur wants to try to usurp that they can get a piece of Taz in his prime and at his finest. Win if you can! Survive if I let you!!! Then - another interuption....6'0" 240 lbs Fighting out of Pittsburgh PA Former Olympic gold medalist and 14-time world champion in professional wrestling. Introducing to BCCW... KURT ANGLE!!!KURT ANGLE: Right now a few top MMA companies are trying to contract with me for one major fight. At this point my manager and I are closely considering the best option. BCCW seems to have the best field, schedule and opportunity that will also fit my current professional wrestling schedule. As an Olympic champion, 1 4-time World and Olympic champion, the most recognized and celebrated athlete in the world, they all want me to come in and bring the TV entertainment along with the real athletic skills, because millions of viewers worldwide are going to want to see if Kurt Angle either wins or get his @ss handed to him on a platter. I'm the one recognized Olympic gold medalist and real wrestler in the business and everyone wants to see if Kurt Angle can really do the MMA. All know I'm going to sell tickets. I believe I will have a decision for my direction in MMA by the end of this tournament! (big pop for Kurt Angle's confirmed involvement in the BCCW Grand Masters Tourney!!!) I would not just jump into a fight with anyone, as there are certain guys I won't even consider fighting. (sneers at Dolph Ziggler) There are guys that are very dangerous and I do have a past neck injury these guys know of... (sizes up Samoa Joe and Taz 2000) If I had to pick a truly quality opponent with similar skills... I would consider "Nature Boy" Buddy Rogers!!! Intense stare down between Rogers and Angle! Crowd pops huge to the fight tease. Meanwhile, Samoa Joe and Taz are still angling and watching each other and the Diamond Dynasty slowly surrounds Angle. MSD is long gone from the ring by this point. Just as the tension ratchets up in intensity, and a violent brawl seems inevitable... a searing guitar riff rips through the arena sound system!!!Enter BRET "THE HITMAN" HART!!!!!!! Bret enters to the largest pop of the night, by far. It literally rocks the outside stadium and reverberates through the eons. Bret Hart first stands alongside Kurt Angle (addressing Rogers dirty tactics and promising to uphold the former champions ethos of "hustle, loyalty & respect"). But the Excellence of Execution isn't afraid to turn his competitive attention to Kurt Angle either!!! In a virtual smart mark wet dream match, Bret Hart says he would be more than happy to test his skills against the Olympic gold medalist within the confines of the hallowed BCCW ring. Great respect is shown by the two, complete with the dramatic handshake of mutual respect to HUGE crowd applause. But this ruffles the feathers of the others, and Samoa Joe angrily steps in to say something and winds up slapping the mic out of Kurt Angle's hand! Then Taz launches on Joe from behind! Suddenly, the Dynasty collapses on Angle and Hart and all hell has officially broken loose!!! A wild, bench-clearing brawl erupts with hordes of BCCW security becoming involved as well. With the crowd rocking their approval, Angle and Hart team up to clear the ring in dramatic fashion! Hart and Angle are the last two left in the ring, and the stare down they share at the end conveys mutual respect and intense rivalry!** Who will be the next BCCW Champion??? The brackets are now confirmed! The fireworks will begin next week as BCCW lights up the East Coast with their first set of tournament battles!!! **______________________________________________________________________________________________ CREDITS: FARMER BURNS: "Wrestling by Frank Gotch: A World's Champion" (1908) SCOTT HALL: WCW Monday Night NITRO (Live Telecast: 7/6/95) GREAT GAMA: Nadeem S.
